Spiced Almond Milk

I looooove to sit at a cute little cafe and enjoy something warm and comforting. It brings back memories of when Ryan and I went backpacking through Europe before we started our family.

As much as lattes and cappuccinos from adorable cafes taste so darn good, my wallet and caffeine addiction sure take the brunt. Why can’t I just have a yummy drink that warms my soul without breaking the bank or fueling my caffeine addiction?

Ding! We created our own version that totally does the trick and I can’t wait for you to try it too. This heart-happy treat that won’t make you feel guilty if you become addicted! It’s called Spiced Almond Milk— it’s full of goodness AND it’s from the beloved Fresh Start: A 21-day Cleanse

While cleansing, we encourage our cleansers to drink it nightly during the 21-day whole food program. The combination of spices and nutty-sweetness is a perfect way to end the day, and it’s so easy to make at home which means you’re saving tons of hard-earned cash.

Spiced Almond Milk

Course: Drinks
Prep Time: 10 minutes
Servings: 1

This is the perfect little treat at the end of a long day. The combination of almond milk + warming digestive spices balances your blood sugar and stabilizes your metabolism, while the extra protein boost from the almond butter helps curb hunger pains.



  • 1 cup almond milk unsweetened
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • A pinch of ground ginger
  • A pinch of cayenne pepper
  • 2 teaspoons maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon almond butter


  1. Combine all ingredients in a small pan.
  2. Heat on the stove over medium heat until warm.*
  3. Pour into a mug.

Recipe Notes

*Pro tip: After heating the ingredients on the stove, pour the mixture into the blender and run it for about 30 seconds (leave a little hole in the lid for the steam to escape). This makes sure everything is mixed super well, and adds a bit of froth to make you feel like you just got served at your favorite coffee shop!

    Tried this today, but I’ve never been a fan of maple syrup so used honey in it’s place.

    Absolutely delightful drink, I recently got told I couldn’t consume dairy or caffeine any more ( I’ve always been mildly lactose intolerant but it took a turn for the worse recently ).

    I grabbed some Soya Milk and Almond Milk as I’ve never tried either, but decided I preferred Soya for “General Use”.

    As a result, I thought I’d try to find some recipes to replace my daily teas and coffees, found this and it’s a wonderful drink ( although I mildly overdid it on the cinnamon, tastes wonderful but it didn’t fully dissolve ).

    Sounds like a great option!

    Since I’m using a Nutri-Bullet that is not for hot foods, will it work to blend first and then heat, or does it separate during the heating process.

      Hi MaryJo,

      Great question! Blending will create an extra frothy drink, but you’re right hot liquids + the NutriBullet don’t mix. I have a NutriBullet too and simply whisk the ingredients together on the stovetop instead of blending.
