100 Days of Real Food Giveaway {CLOSED}

Hooray and happy (almost) fall!

It’s probably my favorite time of year. There’s something to say about warm and fuzzy socks, busting out my slow cooker, and curling up with a book.

And what better way to enjoy the start of this cozy season by diving into a new cookbook from a free giveaway?

Lisa Leake is a friend, and also the star behind the new cookbook: 100 Days of Real Food: How We Did It, What We Learned, and 100 Easy, Wholesome Recipes Your Family Will Love. We already dove into her recipes, and they’re amazing! So amazing, that we want to give one away to someone else…

Want to win a copy of your own?

All you have to do is answer this question in the comments section below: “What’s the #1 struggle you have with eating more real foods?” That’s it.

We’ll be picking one winner randomly and that lucky person will be announced in our newsletter on September 11 (if you don’t receive our newsletters, then sign up here).

Good luck!

My biggest problem is that I cook for two. My husband and I. Whenever I start cooking vegetables, he tells me my food stinks. He won’t try any of it. I don’t like cooking just for myself when I know I have to cook something else anyway. I do once in awhile just because I love my veggies.

I struggle to make tasty and healthy snacks for the kids for school and after which they will eat and are nut free! I have tried substituting cacao for the cocoa in some. Of my recipes and they end up tasting bitter. I don’t know what to add, which is healthy!, to help!

The biggest problem I have eating real food is my work hours. I usually don’t have time to shop and cook healthy, real food. I do make an effort to cook ahead and freeze portions for later.

My number one struggle with eating real food is I love food…junky food! My family does not really like my new recipes using good stuff. They prefer veggies like canned green beans in bacon grease. Meat and potatoes are important too. I am trying though getting a little worn out in the process.

My #1 struggle is finding the time to shop & prepare real food. I am away from home 12 hrs a day and so when I get home it has to be fast. Sometimes I will have hummus and veggies for dinner, and I often eat almonds in the car for breakfast.

number 1 struggle? is determining what combinations of vegetables /grains / fruits and spices are the best blend to ensure the correct nutritional balance and provide me with the energy I need. Trying to get past the 2 pm slump can be a hurdle and what I believe will keep the low blood sugar at bay doesn’t. So at times I resort to less desired food because I know it will work.

My #1 struggle is time…I struggle with finding the time to cook and prep all that I have planned. Also, it is so difficult for me to get me son to eat anything that is not packaged food. So I end up trying to make his food from scratch in hopes of getting some real food in him.

My number one struggle is meal planning. I have never been a great cook. I am trying to incorporate more real food but planning is my number one obstacle.

Finding the money for organic produce and meat. I feel so guilty when I buy regular fresh items. I also struggle with buying enough to get through the week, or the opposite, buying to much. I’m guessing a solid meal plan would help with both issues…

Getting my kids on board! Packing their school lunches is very difficult, everything seems to come in a package and when I send real food, it always comes home with them

My main issue is finding affordable real food. Most of the food is so expensive and in smaller portions is not financially feasible.

Time is my # 1 struggle. Coming home at 6:30 and trying to put together something healthy with real foods in a quick time frame is hard. Food needs to be good tasting, fast and simple to make. I don’t want fancy or complicated recipes, just simple and delicious recipes using fresh
    ingredients. Need help, please!
    Thanks for your time ladies!

Having lost my right hand and the fingers off my left hand to septicaemia in 2012 I have really struggled with every day tasks and especially cooking. My partner does amazingly and I am so lucky to have him but I miss cooking and I miss healthy eating…I also have no large bowel so almost everything that is good for me I can’t eat anymore 🙁 smoothies are fantastic but I miss real food! SOON I will cook again 🙂

My number 1 struggle is my husband! He is not into real food, so I often struggle to empty my stock on my own. Buying food for one person is more expensive and not always possible in terms of manageable quantities. And eating seperate meals sometimes feel unsocial 😉

I am pretty typical in thinking that it takes more time to cook and prepare healthy nutritious meals. I look for easy and unfortunately easy usually means more prep time. I have made some attempts at green smoothies and enjoy them. I have really enjoyed the blogs and they challenge me to try!

I struggle with the time to pull together healthy meals. Prep time seems longer. Grocery shopping takes longer. I am ready for some tips. Especially things I can do on Sunday in preparation for the hectic work week.
