Green smoothies have helped me to get more fruit and veggies in my diet, I’m always on the go and due the serious time constraints it is just easier to eat packaged unhealthy foods. I know, fruits or veggies are quick and easy (usually) but sometimes it’s not always do-able depending on what you’ve got going on, the smoothies I can just blend quickly and be out the door and enjoy it wherever I’m going without worrying if juice is going to drip on me (yes I usually need a bib when I eat, lol but no I’m serious I usually need a bib) and I love that I can use it in place of a meal until I can make time for one. I have been well known to skip meals regularly. I also feel better, thanks for sharing something you love with us.

When I go to work with more energy and my husband begs me for my tasty green smoothies each morning – I know it is a true sign of a love affair. They love me from the inside out and I love them for how good they make me feel.

This is my first smoothie challenge but most def not my last! I started the challenge after seeing it on Pinterest. I posted the info on my natural hair page and even recruited a few of my airline co-workers! I loved to win and travel with a blender too!!

Choosing to try out green smoothies was the best idea. I’m so glad I ventured into this… Aside from the shrinking clothes size numbers, I think the greatest benefit has been the obvious change in my energy. I feel more present and ready throughout the day. Long work days don’t wear me out like they used to and I’m not exhausted at the end of the day. I love the easy and convenience of making them and with your continued inspirations, I continue to incorporate and mix fruit and flavors!!

Green smoothies have absolutely changed my life. They have tamed my sweet tooth, helped regulate my blood sugar, helped me lose weight, have more energy, feel more satisfied, and made me feel like I’m doing something great for myself. I have my husband hooked now, too!

Like so many responders, I started green smoothies to improve my health. I was an undiagonosed celiac for 28 years. It took doctors 4 years of wrong diagnoses and drugs before someone decided to take biopsies for celiac. I was so sick, they said internally I looked just like the textbook photos, worse case. Stopping gluten stopped the damage but 3 years later I still wasn’t feeling as good as I thought I should. My husband did a lot of reading this past year and decided a paleo-type approach would be helpful for healing and thriving, but that meant a lot of veggies, which had only been a side dish in our lives. Trying to find a way to tolerate a lot more veggies led me to your site. I only invested in the single serving Oster blender to try the green smoothie challenage the first time. I had to make modified variations of your recipes because of it. I did the challenage long enough to see that I was feeling better, but to continue to improve I need to increase veggies and decrease sugars even more. So I will need to invest in a better blender that can handle more than spinach and kale and experiment more with recipes to reach these health goals through smoothies even a husband could love. Winning the blender would go a long way to make that goal, though I will still have to do the hard part with further recipe trial and error. My latest fav smoothie is almond milk (did I mention I was allergic to dairy and eggs too?), mango vegan protein powder, spinach, frozen pineapple with a little flax oil and chia seeds…passed the husband test! Thanks for putting on the challenage. Everyone who participates is a winner!

In the 70’s I made “Green Drinks” in an Oster Blender. Of course I had to strain the pulp to make it tasty. It was work. I rediscovered “Green Smoothies” a couple of years ago, after surviving a nasty heart attack and a couple of month hospital stays. I had no energy, standing and walking were challenges. It was hard to chew food. I couldn’t cook and had little appetite. I was in Bad Shape! I saw the NutriBullet on TV and immediately new this is what I needed to get Optimum Nutrition and jump start my recovery.
Would it work? I was skeptical and some people in the Senior Apartments I live in looked at me as that, “health nut”. I was drinking 2-3 smoothies a day along with other healthy protocols. In time, people noticed the changes in how I looked and felt. I did presentations and made “Green Smoothies”, shared recipes and information on “Green Smoothies” to those who were open. Six people got a Bullet’ and one person a Vitatec. I have experience on how Nutrition can change people. Because I use my machine so often the New Blendtec would make it easier to share “Green Smoothies” to more people. Sharing Smoothies is addictive!
“Life begets Life”! The Best way to get Life into Your Life is with “Green Smoothies!” Especially if you add some Fresh Home Grown Sprouts to Your “Leafy Greens!” But that’s another story…

I love green smoothies because I get a headstart on my vegetables for the day. Getting enough fruit was never a problem. I also like having this healthy alternative to serve my uniquely special 23 year old son before he goes to his day program. Unlike when he was in school, I’m not allowed to pack him a lunch. The lunches he is served are nowhere near as nutritious as those I made to control what used to be his high cholestrol. With green smoothies, I’m getting the fruits and vegetables in that I would have been giving him at lunchtime, and he’s so excited to see his glass of goodness at the breakfast table in the morning. My sister thought he might be put off by the green color. Not in the least! Thank you for making each day a green one!

My story is a bit “personal” but in a way I don’t mind sharing it because it literally kept me from having to have surgery!! I was having severe trouble with my hemorrhoidal ring and the pain was horrific. It was getting to the place where I finally had to cry “Uncle!” and admit I needed to go to a specialist. But then I saw this Facebook post about Green Smoothies. I thought, “There’s an idea! I’ll try that first.” I began doing Green Smoothies and over time I began to heal. I did go into see the specialist and told him that I actually was MUCH better than I was and would like to keep trying the Green Smoothies before any surgery. He said that would be fine. My next visit was in a month and when I went in I was perfectly fine and no longer needed surgery to fix the problem! You could imagine my relief!! So I’m a die hard Green Smoothie fan now. I tell everyone who will listen that they should drink them (I don’t always tell them the “details” just that it kept me from having surgery.) So, even if I don’t win the Blendtec, I wanted to thank you for putting yourself out there so people like me can “discover” what a great thing this thing called “Green Smoothies” is!!

I got quite a shock with a cholesterol # of 258 when I had never been above 200 before when I had a check-up, but I’m getting older. So I went on the green smoothie route for breakfast and lunch and had my blood retested a month later. Not only did my cholesterol drop 30 points in one month, it actually had a healthy amount of good cholesterol and lowered the bad cholesterol almost exclusively, and cut my triglycerides in half. My doctor was impressed, and did not put me on cholesterol lowering medicine that I did not want because of the affects on the liver, so I continued for two more months of green smoothies. I haven’t done additional blood work (yet), but I certainly feel better. I am using an Oster blender, which makes this a lot of work to get it smooth. I am hoping to win to cut the work down on making these. I have also lost a little weight, and I hope to lose a little more.

I have loved drinking down my green smoothies! I started to just be healthier… I knew I needed to eat more servings of veggies, but I just couldn’t make it happen. When I started making green smoothies I soon realized that I didn’t just like them, I started craving them. (Crazy sounding, I know!) Last year I realized that I might have a glutton intollerance. I began drinking 2 smoothies a day and then had a simple meal for dinner without wheat products. I began to lose weight and I no longer had horrificly painful abdominal bloating and pain. I feel so much better! I don’t know how I’d manage without already having setup the habit of being a green smoothie lover. Yes, I get razzed by some in my family and folks at work think I’m a bit crazy carrying around that green stuff I’m drinking, but I feel great! And I’ve lost some weight. Bonus!!!

After having 2 feet of my colon removed due to Chrons disease, I would have to run for the bathroom within 3 minutes of eating just about any vegetable, especially anything green. I ate a lot of fatty and processed foods beacuse they were the only things that wouldn’t instantly trigger my digestive system. I gained weight. I felt tired and depressed from all the crappy food. I would come home from work and immediately go to bed. It got so bad that my doctor eventually put me on Zoloft.

Then I discovered simplegreensmoothies.com. The first day I found it I spent over an hour checking out the website. I hoped that if the blender broke down the fruit and vegetables for me, maybe I would be able to tolerate fruits and vegetalbes again. I went back to the website everyday for a week reading and rereading different articles, convincing myself to give it a shot.

The day I decided to try a green smoothie I was so nervous. I desperately wanted to be able to have healthy foods again without them keeping me trapped in the bathroom for hours and if the green smoothies didn’t work I would be stuck eating junk forever. So I whipped up a Beginner’s Luck for breakfast and hoped for the best.

It was delicious! I sucked it down and waited for the stomach cramps. And waited. And waited. They never came. I was so excited that I wanted to try another one right away, but decided not to push my luck.

I tried a new smoothie every day that week. Two weeks later I started a 30 day challenge. Byt the end of the challenge I had dropped 15 lbs and my energy had returned. I no longer needed naps or Zoloft.

Now I have a green smoothie for breakfast every day and often one for a snack when I get home from work. I continue to lost weight every week and I can’t stop singing the praises of green smoothies. I gush about them to my family and coworkers and talk about their benefits on the digestive disorder blogs. They have truly changed my life!
