The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

She shares her journey of becoming The Food Babe, and ways we can make healthier choices in any circumstance. Some are super simple (like buying more organic foods), and others are more complicated (like thinking about how to purify the water you use when showering).

No matter what Vani shares— all the suggestions will help us live a longer and healthier life. There’s a lot of goodness to think about in this book! You can learn more about Vani and The Food Babe Way in the video below. And make sure to enter the giveaway for a chance to win this book!

I struggle to find good recipes for my boyfriend who is a picky eater.

I struggle with, and this is crazy, but no running water to clean my blender! We have a huge slab leak and keep our main water turned off all day. We do everything in an hour that needs water- dishes, laundry, showers…and I always forget to make my smoothies then too!

I struggle with just sticking with it, perhaps laziness. It seems like we get on a roll and boom, something gets in the way to slow us down and it’s hard to get back on the right track.

I’d say cravings are the hardest part. Every now and then I cave despite the better, healthier options in the house.

My love for desserts. Ahh cookies and cake …

I struggle to find the time, but when I do take the effort to eat healthy the rewards are great. Taking only 15 minutes is all it takes and you’ll feel better than a quick fix.

Consistency. I have a hard time saying no to sugar.

My number one struggle lies within – motivation. When I eat properly it it life changing and I feel fantastic however after a long day at work or when socialising the convenient option always wins out. When I’m motivated and organised, it’s easy.

My #1 struggle is staying away from sugary treats. This site has helped me learn how to enjoy smoothies without added sweeteners, which is a plus! Baby steps!

Making time to do it… The grocery lists, recipes, prep and cook time… And fresh food goes bad so quickly when you’re fixing for one!

My #1 struggle is my husband can eat whatever and not gain anything or see any adverse effects, while I have to be overly cautious. It’s challenging to eat healthfully when he wants one thing, but I need something else.

Fighting through the clinical fatigue that comes with my autoimmune disease to get stuff prepped/made. Frustrating, as I know if I could do it regularly the fatigue would get less and less…

I’m really good at keeping crap out of the house, but the struggle is resisting the crap the man brings home. Constant vigilance gets tiring, ya know?

Portion control. I am usually making healthy food that tastes great. But it tastes great and I am eating too much of it.

More organic means more do-it-yourself and some timemanagement! Often more expensive food and bodycare then you wished… Both struggles. But variaty is my number 1 struggle! I often eat the same foods as the day before. Help! Wish for some inspiration!!!

  17. Ann-Marie Connor

    February 12th, 2015 at 1:26 pm

My biggest challenge is my own mind set. I feel better when I am eating healthy, but it is so easy to give in to those empty calories. Rip off the wrapper, nuke and eat. So simple yet so bad. It fills you, it tastes good and it is easy to make. I don’t have to think about it, I don’t have to chop and prepare, I don’t have to use a million measuring cups and spoons, and I don’t have to clean up my MESS!
I am challenged but I am working on it. 🙂

I struggle with snacking! Even with my morning smoothie and a nutritious lunch, I never can seem to feel full…so when 3 o’clock rolls around, I’m reaching for those unhealthy snacks!

My #1 struggle with healthy eating is picking up tiny bad eating habits that easily snowball into bigger issues. Like having 1 chocolate a day turns into more sugar cravings, and then I end up making more poor choices driven by cravings instead of the healthier choices that ultimately lead to me feeling better.

My husband loves junk food and I am easily led astray.
