The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

My #1 problem is creativity. I rely on the same recipes. We are a family of 6 and I work from home but don’t have much time!

#1 struggle……Pure laziness! It’s just to easy to pick up processed food. I know that with a little preparation and planning even the business person could succeed. Always easier said than done for me.

My number one struggle with healthy eating is eating healthy on the go or when I’m eating out. It’s hard to find something fast and healthy to eat.

Eating different food to the rest of the family. I find most of the recipes delicious but cannot convince other family members to join me.

I could list a thousand excuses! I think the big one for me is I want to eat what my family eats. My hubby says he supports me, and he will try some new things. But I know he grew up eating fat, sugar, salt and crabs. And how we cook really reflects how his family cooked. We’ve tried some healthier options but he is vocal about his dislike for them so I tend to move bake to our old ways.

I struggle the most with green vegetables… But blended up is much better. Time is my biggest enemy, but I do understand to make a heathy body you need to make time for that,.:)

I struggle when I get overtired and just need food now, and don’t have the energy to cook.

My biggest challenge is ignoring the chemical filled junk foods my husband occasionally brings home. Today I found an unopened box of Girl Scout cookies in the pantry, but instead of eating them I made a batch of black bean brownies!! Win for me, normally my will power isn’t so great.

I find my biggest struggle is to feel full. If I track what I eat and add up the calories I eat a lot more than I should.

My struggle has involved shifting from a mind-set of losing weight or looking better, to one that simply involves HEALTH! Our society & culture work over-time to sabotage and define what we should eat, wear, look like and think about ourselves. Regarding food, we have become lazy, complacent and out-of-touch with what is REALLY good for us. “Faster”, “easier”, and chemically-induced “tastier” has become the norm. Time for us to break free and take a stand! Everyone can choose to do something, ONE thing, incrementally better! Vani’s book gives us a fighting chance at doing just that!

My biggest struggle is finding quick food that is free of chemicals and sugars. It’s not always possible for me to buy organic. I hate that even fruits and vegetables are sprayed with pesticides.

It’s difficult when their is no time to make a meal at home….and you’re hungry!

It seems like I always have to make a tradeoff and accept that we are going to eat at least one thing that isn’t good for us: GMO, soy, food additives, dairy, meat hormones, gluten, processed food, HFCS. Feeding my family foods they like and that are healthy means constantly making decisions about the lesser evils to make the best decisions.

My #1 struggle is finding the energy, mostly mental,to make healthy meals. I would find it easier if I had or made a weekly menu to follow. But again, that takes time and energy 🙂

My greatest struggle is my husband
With wine and chocolates he will tempt
And I am weak and never take a strong stand
I love them both although I should exempt
All temptations from my healthy lifestyle
For I am overweight and hate to move
So I will turn my back on these things for a short while
And drink green smoothies til my weight improves.

My #1 struggle is sugar, I continually try to break my affair with it, but as soon as I have a weak moment it is there again. It doesn’t help that it is hiding in everything.

My biggest problem is having something quick to eat on the go. Other than that I love everything about eating healthy.

Time. It’s hard to find the time to put in the planning to make a healthy lifestyle happen. OH how I wish I had a chef to just serve us healthly food on the go!!
