The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

    I do well for a while and am enjoying my green smoothies which I have just started but sadly my problem is convincing my family to eat healthily and I eventually relent and go for the chocolate in the fridge! So I guess will power or rather lack of will power!

    The hardest thing for me is that I go on really bad binges and it’s hard to recover from them!! I always make sure to have a green smoothie the next morning though 🙂

    Time! Time is my number one struggle. I am a photographer and my schedule does not always permit time for me to whip up a healthy meal or break for a healthy snack.

    It’s hard for me to pick just one struggle I have, but I guess I would have to go with plain, outright lack of motivation.

    I think the toughest thing is that junk is so EASY to grab onto… and that makes giving into cravings convenient.

    The biggest struggle i have is having 4 other people in the house that really don’t want to change their eating habits. I’m on my own with that and cooking for 4 people one way and myself a different way is expensive and we don’t have the money for that.

    My #1 struggle with eating healthy is that the people I live with, my husband and daughter are just not big fruit and vegetable eaters. My daughter is much better than my husband but my husband is sick, cancer survivor, and trying to gain weight, so isn’t interested in eating much of anything but meat with every meal and lots of it. I cook separate meals for all of us and sometimes, it’s just too much and I give in and eat what he wants. I am having more and more success juicing and making green smoothies though because it’s easy and I’m not much of a cook. He just doesn’t know what he’s missing because the more healthy I eat, the better I feel and the energy I have. He could have this too. Best of all, my weight is on a downward slope. Thank you Simple Green Smoothies!

    Can you get the doctor to suggest that he try a smoothy if he’d like.
    What about protein powders. (I hope that’s ok.) All the best!

    The hardest part I have with healthy eating is not being consumed by it – obsessing about it. It’s all about balance and learning it’s okay to have treats now and again – to indulge. I’m a work in progress.

    My biggest challenge is using all the food I buy at the grocery before the food rots in my fridge.. it is hard to find tasty recipes in single serving sizes.

    NOTE: I’m on the FreshStart21 plan for the first time and I can’t get over how good everything tastes and how easy it is to cook for just me! Thank you so much!

    I struggle to source home-grown, free range local produce in my small home town – and when you do find it, it’s very expensive

    I’d say as a student, budget, time and consistency with planning healthy meals to be what I find most difficult, I often also cave in when tempted by unhealthy food

    My biggest struggle is having the energy to prep. I have fibromyalgia so it’s kinda ironic that I don’t have the energy to do the one thing that I really think can make me better. Not well, but I truly think it could help with the tiredness and my brain fog. It’s just not working for me to make the meals everyday so I need to be very organized and prep a lot ahead of time – and there’s certainly a lot to do before I become a master prepper. But I’m learning. Having a complete meal plan (like the 21-day cleanse) is certainly helping – but there’s still a long way to go.
