The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

Time seems to always be the struggle. But I’ve been doing well! Started getting back on track Jan 1st, and currently doing the Fresh Start 21. And I leave for work at 6 and home at 6. So I get home, eat, prep snacks for the next day, walk, workout, have the spiced almond milk and go to bed. It’s not about finding time, it’s about making time 🙂

My number 1 struggle with eating healthy is sticking to it. I start out really good, but after only a few days I a back to my old habits. Also is someone brings in bad food, I have no will power at times.

For me, trusting that our food supply is safe and providing nutrientsm/micronutrients. Is it truly organic? When my budget allows I will, otherwise it’s standard supermarket produce *shudders*. I feel that our soil is depleted of necessary minerals. Thanks goodness for this book. Cheers!

I read my magazines from back to front too! 😉 (What is that about!?)

My #1 struggle is getting psyched to cook.
I nibble most of the day on nuts, raisins, cheese and kale chips, etc.
I’m kind of spoiled living with my father who is a great cook!
I love my smoothies, no effort, no mess.

Unless I make a special effort, I sometimes don’t remember how to cook healthy, simple, good tasting meals for others to enjoy, who don’t quite get the smoothie thing.

I just found you today after hearing you B-school testimonial.
Thank goodness for green smoothies, and thanks to you all for your encouragement at simplegreensmoothies.com.

The biggest healthy eating challenge for me is the time and planning that it takes. It a whole lot faster to buy something premade…

I struggle with menu’s and then I just grab something handy!! That is why I have been loving the 21 day cleanse. Everything is organized and laid out for the week including the shopping.

Due to chronic illness, I literally do not have the strength stamina or energy to prepare the food sources. My only source to get groceries is not a fruit or veggie person, has no interest, and both of these factors makes it extremely hard to do what I want and need to do for me diet wise

The hardest thing for me is to not get bored with the menu. I need consistency of variety. I always do a green smoothie in morning and feel good after but need crunch and variety throughout my day.

I think my number one struggle is getting the rest of my family on board with healthier eating. It’s so hard to plan meals when I feel like I’m constantly making two breakfasts, two lunches and two dinners. It gets old and exhausting.

I struggle with making healthier substitutions, like organic. The cost always deters me.

My number one struggle is when I make a clean slice or clean energy balls that one is never enough! (and that a batch never lasts as long as it should!) they are just too tasty!

My biggest issue is not sucumbing to junk food. I try to eat healthy everyday, but when I’m tired or not organized it just seems all too easy to turn to take-away or junk food. I am trying to retrain my brain that healthy cooking doesn’t necessarily mean time consuming. Losing 11 kilograms since May last year is what I remind myself every time I am tempted. Losing weight is always a difficult journey and I try to remind myself that I didn’t put my weight on overnight so I’m not going to loose it overnight. A positive mindframe is the most powerful tool one can have on any weightloss/lifestyle change journey.
