The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

    living on a college campus makes eating healthy so tricky! I am constantly surrounded by greasy, tempting foods. Thankfully, I have my magic bullet here so I can make smoothies in the comfort of my own dorm room 🙂

    My biggest struggles are with sugar and emotional eating. I have trouble when I get home from work and I end having a snack that ends up leading to a few snacks. I’m not even hungry, but I keep eating anyway.

    My biggest challenge is getting my children to eat the healthy meals I prepare. For the most part, they understand why we are trying to eat healthy foods, but they seem to take turns liking the new dishes we try! I end up having to prepare several dishes for each meal. In addition, I hate the volume of dishes that are created!

    My biggest challenge is making sure to eat enough veggies and fruits in a day. And not over doing it in the fruit department when I think I have gotten on track. Finding this web page has really helped to get some balance. Thanks girls great page love it.

    My main struggles are being a moody eater and managing my energy level and busy schedule to plan meals well. As an emotional eater, I crave sweets and junk food- even when I know my belly won’t appreciate the consumption. And I have periods when I just have no appetite for “real” food, sometimes making my smoothies or packing lunch and then not eating it…all because I’m over stressed or too consumed with my work and responsibilities. And then there are the times when picking up something to eat is just so much easier than cooking – ready faster, and no pots and pans to clean up.

    Keeping fresh food fresh! How do you buy fresh veg. such as spinach and all the other ingredients needed to make your smoothies, and keep everything fresh? (can’t but 1/2 bag of spinach or kale.) It has been a real challenge for me! Seems like my fridge is full to the max with different ingredients, but a lot is thrown away because it went bad. How can I buy food at a reasonable price and use it before it’s “too late”?

    My number one struggle is making sure I’m prepared. Because I have a 4 year old a a 1 month old if I’m not prepared I seem to go for foods that are easy to grab and scoff down when I have a free moment.

    My struggle is being organised with my food…I know I need to as I love my healthy food and my morning smoothies and tonic drink and definitely feel the benefits from it….but when I’m stressed or tired from working too many hours I reach for the take away or unhealthy options that make me feel even more tired, lathargic and no energy!! If I’m honest…this is my struggle 🙁

    number one struggle? (only one??)… overeating. I think I eat too fast and then eat too much.

    The hardest thing for me is convenience. That’s part of the reason I love green smoothies, they can be made so easily, are so healthy and taste amazing! I struggle with a lot of the prep for healthy eating and end up grabbing something fast and easy instead..and then regretting it.

    I just find food and cooking it boring. Dinner times are a last minute rush to the shops and try to pull something together. Now that weve moved away from family and friends I get down and just don’t even feel like eating until my body starts craving. thankfully smoothies are easy but end up doing the same one over and over.

    The hardest part about eating healthy has been knowing where to start and being able to afford all the ingredients necessary to do so. But thankfully I came across Simple Green Smoothies and started with the 30 day challenge. It was a great place to start and now I feel weird without my smoothies. You really do begin to not want the sodas and junk food. Affording the ingredients with my situation is tough, but I made the effort as your health should always be worth it. After all, if you eat nothing but junk you pay later on… with your health and possibly life.

    Meal planning. I am finding it very difficult to meal plan, my whole household is full of stomach issues so we are now dairy/gluten free which has seemed to help, but sticking to that has proven difficult. Between work and my boys sports, I do not have enough hours in a day!! We do love our green smoothies though!!

    I think the number one thing I struggle with eating healthy is me. I don’t pay enough attention to myself and my own personal needs, physically, mentally or emotionally. So I find myself snacking, often on junk, instead of eating real meals. And I don’t make the time to exercise. I am constantly running around for my family or just exhausted from life, so I give myself excuses for not being healthy. It’s a mindset that I need to change as much as a physical change for diet and exercise.

    My number one struggle with healthy eating is finding time to prepare fresh meals. I enjoy fresh vegetables and fruits, but when I purchase fresh vegetables and fruits they almost always go bad before I finish the item. I enjoy eating healthy , but time is always a factor,so unfortunately sometimes the fastest item to grab is what is eaten for the meal.
