Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. I struggled to put down The Food Babe Way and go to sleep at night. I wanted to keep absorbing Vani’s wisdom! Some are super simple (like buying more organic foods), and others are more complicated (like thinking about how to purify the water you use when showering).

    Hardest thing about healthy eating is finding a meal for me and my son to enjoy, he likes pizza and I like fish and broccoli. Its just us two and no point in cooking two meals for every meal to satisfy both of our wants.

    The biggest struggle I have with preparing food for our family of six is, because off all of our different dietary restrictions, it takes a LOT of TIME to cook and prepare. I am a gluten free, sugar free, vegan. My daughter is allergic to sugar and also cannot have gluten or dairy. The rest of my family doesn’t like my vegan choices, so I am often preparing 2-3 different meals everyday, several times a day. I usually end up with simple meals because I’m so tired of being in the kitchen.

    Biggest challenge is packing a healthy lunch for work every day.

    My biggest struggle with eating healthy is prep time….I have learned to start doing my smoothies at night and putting them in the fridge so in the morning all I have to do is grab them and go..Since I started doing the green smoothie cleanse in July I have dropped almost 60 pounds and learned the importance of planning ahead of time……

    Hardest part of healthy eating is balancing a work schedule and sleep schedule between a night owl (my fiancé) and an early riser (me!)!!

    My number 1 struggle with eating healthy is sticking to it. I start out really good, but after only a few days I end up back to my old habits. I tend to get stuck on one particular clean and healthy meal everyday of the week because it is easier to meal prep that way. I find myself getting burned out with that. I need to find new recipes that are easy to change up during the week, since it is just myself.

    Trying to eat more Vegan/Vegetarian while my husband still eats meat. I try to buy organic when at all possible and it takes me a long time reading labels. I try not to have too much sugar or salt in things and its not easy. I also tend to snack so I try to have healthy things around to snack on like nuts and veggies/hummus. I love green smoothies.

    The challenge for healthy eating for me is prep time. With two small children needing my attention, most days are very busy.

    My biggest challenge was sugar, but I gave it up over a month ago, no candy either. Now I think my biggest challenge is getting enough sleep because I am usually up late prepping smoothies and dinner for the next day so things are ready in the morning and after work for dinner.

    Making sure my partner still eats healthy when I make something I know he won’t eat. If I have fish and salad he will often opt for a toasty or hot chips.

    The time it takes – to read labels, constantly shop for fresh produce, and to prep all the whole foods – but better to spend the time now to eat healthier to hopefully have a longer time to enjoy life!

    I would say the number one struggle for me is NOT giving into the cravings . Then, I totally give up. Weeks later, I am starting again.. Smh

    CONSISTANCY. I love to eat clean and healthy but struggle with being consistent. It’s not for lack of ideas, recipes or resources out there. I can go along for weeks doing so well and then it’s like I fall off the wagon and struggle to get back on it. It is very frustrating….I’m currently half off the wagon and need to get back in control. So my husband and I will begin your 21 day Fresh Start Cleanse on Monday for the first time. I’m super excited about that!

    My biggest challenge with healthy eating is finding the time to prepare healthy meals and snacks so that I don’t find myself reaching for unhealthy alternatives. I am up as early as 5 a.m., 6 days a week hitting the gym or going for a run before I put in 10-hour work days. When I come home at 7 p.m., I have to prepare dinner for my husband and 13-year old son who aren’t as health conscious as I am but are real troopers about trying healthy recipes as long as I prepare them. Their idea of helping me out is ordering take out. I am often exhausted by the time I come home during the week and on Saturdays. Sunday is my only day to relax and plan for the next week. I wish I had a personal shopper and chef!

    I agree with those who’s say prep time is the challenge. I appreciate you guys breaking down the weekly shopping list….huge time saver! Thanks for the weekly recipes. Though I am also busy with four kiddos, I always feel so much better after I’ve had my green smoothie. I’ve been having them at lunch, but not filling enough. I’m gonna start having them for breakfast instead!
