The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

My number #1 struggle is preparation of some of the foods. Examples include soaking things like Chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, and nuts to have ready for the recipes.

It used to be my hubby. Things changed drastically after we moved to a very health conscious city, my husband started running, and we came across Food Babe & now Simple Green Smoothies! Our lives have forever been changed for the better!

My #1 struggle with healthy eating is listening to what’s right for my body. There’s a lot of information out there now making claims about eat this, avoid that and it can get very confusing. I find it’s all too easy to get sucked in and stop listening to the body about what it needs and in what quantities etc especially with regards to sports performance.

Preparing the food is my biggest struggle. If things were ready to eat, it would be so much easier.

When I start eating “clean” I get on a roll and feel great. My biggest struggle is controlling the indulgences once I’m where I want to be weight-wise and start to increase the indulgences. I get off track and find its hard to stop with the pizza and comfort foods. I just wish I could maintain consistently long term.

My #1 struggle is staying consistent, and not giving in to the delicious cravings that most everyone else seems to be able to eat with out having health issues from it. I want to love eating healthy and not crave foods that are not best for my health.

My main struggle is; eating is such a social event. It’s hard to stay healthy when friends want to meet at coffee houses, or go out for a fattening dinner. Some months are worse than others. Some friends are open to vegan eating, others are not. I know I can always get a salad, but a non organic salad at a chain restaurant is so unappealing.

My biggest struggle is preparing the food after working all day. I’m just so tired and don’t want to fix anything that is too involved so I go for quick and easy which usually results in take out.

    consistency is # 1.
    Once. no problem.
    Twice, likely
…more ? depends. Life seems to occur instead.

My biggest problem is my cravings for salty foods – all that stuff they put into snacks that make it so addictive. I’ve been juicing for a couple of weeks now and it’s what made my body hurt the most the first few days. It’ll be the hardest habit to break!

finding the time and energy to find healthy recipes, buy the specific ingredients and prepare them :/ the worst thing is when you go out and buy the ingredients and don’t find time to cook them before you have to throw it out!

My biggest struggle is that I’m a stress eater who has an awful sweet tooth! I’m trying to find stress outlets that don’t involve food.

I struggle to stay organised. There are some great recipes but if you don’t have the ingredients to hand ( because your not organised), It’s easier to make an unhealthy option!

The biggest struggle I have is doing it alone. My husband is not on the same page as me, and though I do well, it would be so much easier to stay on track if he was with me on this.
