The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

I struggled to put down The Food Babe Way and go to sleep at night. I wanted to keep absorbing Vani’s wisdom! She shares her journey of becoming The Food Babe, and ways we can make healthier choices in any circumstance. Some are super simple (like buying more organic foods), and others are more complicated (like thinking about how to purify the water you use when showering).

No matter what Vani shares— all the suggestions will help us live a longer and healthier life. There’s a lot of goodness to think about in this book! You can learn more about Vani and The Food Babe Way in the video below. And make sure to enter the giveaway for a chance to win this book!

My #1 struggle is craving sweets. I have a big sweet tooth that I am trying to overcome.

My biggest struggle is that everyone in my family has different eating habits/preference. So it’s just easier to give into the unhealthier eaters and eat what they’re eating instead of making a separate meal for myself.

MY #1 struggle is sweets. I love chocolate and any kind of cakes. Sugar is my worse enemy. Wish I could find the balance with other alternatives.

My biggest struggle is making myself learn how to love cooking so that I can feed myself and my husband healthy food. I currently view cooking as a waste of time and struggle with the time management when it comes to “Should I spend my time cooking or should I finish task x,y and z which I would prefer to get done?”. In theory, I like the idea of cooking and I want to love it and enjoy it like other people do, however in practice, I struggle with that.

Cost! I spend almost 2x what I would for “easier” meal.

I’m all business in the front, party in the back. I cook healthy, I eat healthy, I show as a healthy eater…I used to work on an organics farm for crumbs sake. But I’m also constantly tempted by unhealthy choices and I have a hard time eating in moderation

My #1 struggle is living in a rural community…at least 70-85 miles to the nearest store that sells whole foods! Local grocers sell very little (poor quality) produce that is highly overpriced!

The #1 struggle I have is the expense of trying to eat healthy! That’s right next to not being able to always find certain ingredients…. we don’t have a huge selection to shop from.

My #1 thing would be lack of knowledge, #2 would be cost, #3 would be time! I hope I win, thanks for the chance!

I try to eat healthy overall, but my biggest struggle is sweets. I love all things sweet, and I need healthier alternatives.

The biggest struggle is knowing what IS healthy and what might have some sort of chemical or unknown ingredient in it. Sometimes we think something is healthy because it looks natural and is advertised as a good healthy food. But when you just never know what’s in it, and what are the consequences of consuming the products!

My struggle is taking time to make those healthy foods. That time is away from doing something else.

I eat way too much sugar in the form of “healthy junk food” (granola, dark chocolate bars, cereals, etc).

  14. Gina

    February 13th, 2015 at 7:26 am

I would really love to cut out junk good and snacks from our home and daily meals. We can do really healthy meals but the in between and after meals always gets us!! And the sugar!! Uuugggjhjj!!!

Finding healthy but also reasonably priced food that is non gmo and organic locally.

The biggest challenge I have is finding healthy food without all of the chemicals that I shouldn’t eat. My husband and I are trying to eat healthier and we are trying to eliminate one unhealthy product at a time such as high fructose corn syrup. We’ve been fairly successful with that one but it’s difficult to eliminate because it’s not always listed or it has another name. We are still trying.

My struggle is time. I feel like I’m in the kitchen all the time making breakfast, lunch for the kids to take to school and dinner. I try to have a few handy good quick snacks on hand. I don’t have time to make everything from scratch.

My #1 struggle with healthy eating is the time it takes to prepare those foods. I know if I got myself into a routine I would create the time and new habits to make it happen, but it’s hard to get started, and even feels overwhelming at times. Sometimes when I do put in the time, I find that the taste or texture are lacking.

  19. Christy Sumner

Time. It take time to make everything from scratch. And it frustrates me to invest so much time just to have the food rejected by my family.

  20. Martha

My biggest struggle with eating healthy is my desire to ‘be perfect’ at it. If I mess up I beat myself up and feel like I have to start all over again.
