The Food Babe Way Book Giveaway! {CLOSED}

Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. And I love ending my night getting all cozied up with a good book in my hands.
The past week, I’ve been cozying up with The Food Babe Way. This is a book after my own heart (I am passionate about knowing what’s in our food).

Fun fact: Vani’s a green smoothie rawkstar, just like us. But that’s not all— this amazing woman is transforming the food industry from the inside out— Subway, Kellogs, Starbucks, Chick Fil A, and many more have invested in better ingredients in their foods thanks to Vani). We all get to benefit from her food activist work.

Choosing healthy food when eating out. There are days when we just don’t want to take the time to cook at home. There are too many not so healthy food choices close by, tempting us to with less than healthy food, that quick and convenient sometimes win out.

The biggest struggle I have is preparation. I never seem to get everything that I need when grocery shopping and once I run out, it could be days to a week before I have time to go back and get the right ingredients. If I don’t have them on hand, I end up taking shortcuts and derailing myself.

My biggest struggle would be time and planning. Loved the 21 day cleanse because I had the shopping list and what to eat, I found it quite manageable. It takes so long to meal plan and make the shopping list!

My biggest struggle is snacking. I am always looking for healthy snacks.

My number one struggle is in finding the time to prep the food that I want to make or eat. Sometimes I’m successful, and my hubby and I eat well for as long as the dish lasts. It runs out on a day that we both work late and its buying food out time 🙁

My biggest struggle is making things my kids will eat that are healthy. I start out making healthier stuff for myself, but when the other junk is still around the house it gets hard to keep the will power going and I always ultimately cave and get tired of making separate meals for me and my husband and kids. And I’m tired. I have four kids, and I am a student myself, the kids have after school activities and my husband works far away and I need quick things to make that don’t take a lot of time or effort.

My #1 struggle with healthy eating is the tempting bad foods that my family keeps around the house. I try my best to eat as much fresh produce and I can. I wish they would take on a healthy lifestyle with me, it would be so much easier.

The #1 struggle I have with healthy eating is passing up french fries when they are shared with me.

For me I think a few things come into play. The first is finances. As a law student, living frugal and on a budget sometimes means eating noodles for a few days. I eat healthy when I can…buying more fruits and veggies when shopping though. I was even able to do Fresh21 after working last summer. That cleanse changed my taste buds and implemented a lot of great habits such as the green smoothies. The second reason is having quick and easy recipes at hand that I can throw together and maximize time at the same time! In a previous date, I would be saying tasty healthy food but I loved everything about the fresh 21 cleanse. I still use the recipes here and there!

I struggle with healthy eating the most between about 3pm and dinner time – I just want to snack, snack, snack. Trying to make healthier choices but it’s tough. I credit my conversion to green smoothies for getting me through the morning without caving to the snack attack but afternoons are rough!

Not having a good plan and being tired are my downfall. If I’ve planned ahead and have the right ingredients then when the end of the day strikes (which has a habit of happening every 24 hours) I have what I need to do healthy. If not then I’m reaching for whatever carb or sugar is closest and then it’s all downhill from there.

My biggest struggle is probably the cost of purchasing the healthiest choices and lack of options in the area.

My #1 struggle with healthy eating is being able to afford the fresh fruit and veggies for a large family.

Having so many dietary restrictions and trying to make the time to get it all to work together.

My struggle with healthy eating is preparation and consistency. The saying if you dont plan, then you plan to fail is so true in my case.

The biggest struggle I have is my sweet tooth. But I am getting more comfortable grabbing a piece of fruit to snack on instead of a cookie 🙂

I think my #1 difficulty with healthy eating is that I want to do too much. I want to be the healthiest possible and so I try to gather all the information possible about many different types of healthy “diets” but I then get overwhelmed and confused about what I should eat or not, which often results in binge eating.. and it’s a never ending cycle. I need to structure it all, but it’s not as easy!
