Can I tell you something?
I still take notes with pen and paper, and doodle all over them. I keep track of events and to-do’s in a physical planner. I subscribe to 8 wonderful print magazines and look forward to reading every single page, beginning with the last page first. I struggled to put down The Food Babe Way and go to sleep at night. I wanted to keep absorbing Vani’s wisdom! She shares her journey of becoming The Food Babe, and ways we can make healthier choices in any circumstance. Some are super simple (like buying more organic foods), and others are more complicated (like thinking about how to purify the water you use when showering).

    My #1 struggle with healthy eating is sugar. As a family we only keep whole foods around, but when we get a craving for a sweet treat we eat the whole batch of chocolate chip cookies that just came out of the oven. So we binge on sugar and never end the addiction to it.

    My biggest challenge is willpower. There is always junk food laying around the office and I find I often do not have the willpower to avoid it. I am working on it and getting better.

    My biggest struggle with healthy eating is finding healthy snacks to keep me satisfied throughout the day! I plan my family’s breakfasts, lunches and dinners but by the time I’m done with that I’m tapped out of ideas and resources to plan healthy and natural snacks.

    My greatest challenge is eliminating or reducing rice, bread, and pasta from my diet. Last year with the help of the 30 day Simple Green Smoothie challenge and a paleo diet I lost 20lbs. Unfortunately, after 6 months I didn’t stay on track. Now I am trying to start over but preparing rice, bread or pasta for my family of 5 is always a temptation I can’t resist or even eat in moderation.

    I have a hard time preparing food that is healthy after coming home from work and that my toddler would eat. I know I have to create a meal plan. I just get overwhelmed.

    The #1 struggle I have with healthy eating is the temptation of sweets and the convenience of already made meals from the store that I know are not healthy but easy to put on the microwave when you come home tired from working a full day and going part time to school. Green smoothies are easy to make for breakfast the night before and I have one almost everyday, but lunch and dinner are another story. I try to enjoy cooking but I find it difficult sometimes since I’m not an expert in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking when the recipes are easy to follow.

    My biggest challenge is time- specifically for food prep and shopping. I am a single parent to two elementary age kids juggling a full time job, a demanding online masters course, and family/house responsibilities. There’s very little free or extra time in my day.
