Pumpkin spice smoothie

‘Tis the season for all things pumpkin, including this pumpkin spice smoothie.

In many lovely places, the leaves have already begun to turn rich, warm colors and the air has cooled down to the perfect temperature. It’s one of the most festive times of year— and I just can’t get enough of it. Especially the autumn foods. Ah, autumn foods warm the tummy and the soul. Tis the season of comfort foods!

Check out my autumn plant-based smoothie and meal recipes.

Pumpkin Smoothie Recipe that is just as tasty and twice as healthy as the classic Pumpkin Spice Latte.

All sorts of bakeries and coffee shops will soon be stocking their shelves with pumpkin bread, muffins and coffee. And we will be there enjoying these treats as well! Yet at Simple Green Smoothies, we also think it’s important to make our health a priority and not go overboard on those addictive fall specialties that are often loaded with sugars, unhealthy fats and caffeine.

That’s why we created a healthy alternative—our favorite, fall-inspired green smoothie recipe, the Pumpkin Spice Smoothie.

Top 7 ingredients in pumpkin spice smoothie

Spinach: This leafy green is full of health benefits AND doesn’t affect the taste of the smoothie. Sure, the smoothie is green, yet if you closed your eyes you’d have no clue. Spinach is a great leafy green to blend into smoothies for this very reason!

Almond Milk: We use almond milk to create a creamy texture and add a little bit of protein.

Banana: This fruit is a great natural sweetener and also helps make a creamy smoothie. Check out our other fav natural sweeteners for smoothies.

Mango: Frozen mango blends the pumpkin and banana together well. It’s also frozen which helps chill down the smoothie.

Pumpkin: To kick off autumn smoothies, we’re using pumpkin puree. Make sure to get one that doesn’t have any additives, just 100% pure pumpkin.

Pumpkin Spice: This seasoning is a blend of nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger and cloves.

Vanilla extract: Autumn just screams vanilla, and it really does add a depth of warmth and flavor to this pumpkin smoothie recipe.

So easy to make. A friend had given me some pumpkin she had frozen. No canned for me! And it was delicious. I love the energy I get from daily smoothies.

I LOVE THIS SMOOTHIE!! I love everything pumpkin, and this green smoothie did not disappoint. I am following along with the 7-day fall challenge, and I have to be honest. I did this one on day 2 because I couldn’t wait lol. The balance of flavors was just spot on, and I especially loved the addition of the pumpkin pie spice and vanilla. Such a healthy morning treat that’s totally getting me in the mood for fall and cooler weather. I will be making this one again and again. Thank you, Jen!

Not my fave from the challenge this week. It was a little sour. I appreciated the touch of vanilla to make it more “warm” tasting.

It was pretty good. A little too thick tasting (I guess between the pumpkin and the banana). I think next time I will add more almond milk.
