Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this Strawberry Mango Smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw.

That was 6 years ago, and now he’s got a little baby girl who will be gulping this smoothie down in a few more months, I’m sure! I mean, what’s not to love? Strawberries + mango is a fabulous combination.

Strawberries Have More Vitamin C Than Oranges

It’s true! Strawberries knock it out of the park in the vitamin C department. A diet rich in vitamin C will help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

Strawberries are also low in sugar and high in fiber making them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush and keep your levels more stable.

Mango: The Best Tropical Fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. Juicy, sweet, chock full of vitamin A, fiber, and best eaten standing over the sink with juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie and it’s instantly got an island vibe going on. I like to buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s almost always cheaper than my local grocery store.

  1. Lisa says:

Very thick because I used only frozen fruit. I added some water to make it a little thinner. Not as sweet as the other smoothie, but it was still good.

  2. Jeannette Charles says:

I am having so much fun with the recipes. I just love them. Its uncanny how all those vegies an fruit mix together can taste so good. Plus they keep me full for quite awhile. Just Awesome!!

  3. Natalia says:

It’s not my cup of tea. I like strawberry with banana or other berries but I didn’t enjoy the combo of strawberry and mango.

  4. Atlanta says:

I Made this with glow protein powder and chia seeds to make it a meal replacement.

  5. Sooz says:

    So delicious!

  6. Melanie says:

Good, but I think it would taste delicious when strawberries are in season.

  7. Sandy says:

This smoothie surprised me. I normally don’t like strawberries in my drinks because they are too sweet for me. However, the mango and spinach really smoothed them out for me. I used coconut milk instead of almond milk, which added a bit more of that “island” taste to it. I will definitely be coming back to this recipe after the challenge.
Oh, and I always clean my machine this way. I don’t have a dishwasher, so letting the Vitamix clean itself is the only way I can be sure it is fully clean.
Also, a note about yesterday’s smoothie: I took my leftovers with me this morning and it was still delicious even drinking it warm.

  8. Leslie says:

I am using up my frozen fruit stash. Today I used peaches and raspberries with spinach, avocado, almond milk and coconut milk. I doubled the recipe and made smoothie cubes. Tasted awesome.

  9. Sara G says:

Love love love strawberries! This will be a fave.

  10. Kristina M says:

Better if you use fresh fruit. Frozen fruit made it too thick but tasted great. I added chia seeds and coconut oil for a meal replacement.

  11. Jemyra Ingram says:

I didn’t care for the Pink Flamingo. It had to add more almond milk to complete my smoothie. It was a little thick and not green as pictured.

  12. Sandra S. says:

Pink Flamingo is another all-star recipe. It’s yummy and so easy to blend up the pre-prepped package and run out the door in the morning.

  13. Carrie O says:

Didn’t care for the texture so I added a banana. Next time I’ll try 1/2 avocado. Doubled the recipe. There was none left over

  14. Nancy says:

Using frozen fruit and almond milk made it alot thicker and a bit tougher to blend. But I did enjoy it.

  15. Alonzo Marsh says:

The color put me off a bit after making it, but my oh my, it was tasty. I had a great kick of energy right as I started my work day, it was awesome!
