Strawberry Mango Smoothie


Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this Strawberry Mango Smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw.

That was 6 years ago, and now he’s got a little baby girl who will be gulping this smoothie down in a few more months, I’m sure! I mean, what’s not to love? Strawberries + mango is a fabulous combination.

Strawberries Have More Vitamin C Than Oranges

It’s true! Strawberries knock it out of the park in the vitamin C department. A diet rich in vitamin C will help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

Strawberries are also low in sugar and high in fiber making them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush and keep your levels more stable.

Mango: The Best Tropical Fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. Juicy, sweet, chock full of vitamin A, fiber, and best eaten standing over the sink with juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie and it’s instantly got an island vibe going on. I like to buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s almost always cheaper than my local grocery store.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Description

This smoothie is also known as “Pink Flamango”. Strawberry and mango are the perfect compliments to one another in this recipe.  Both are mildly sweet, and draw out the flavors of the other. Add some creamy almond milk to the mix and you get a smoothie worth blending over and over.


Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup mango

Instructions

  1. Place spinach and almond milk in blender.
  2. Puree until smooth.
  3. Add remaining fruit and blend again.

Notes

Use at least one frozen fruit to make the smoothie cold or serve over ice.

    I discovered bananas today! And mangoes. I made a version of this smoothie, but with spinach, frozen mangoes, fresh raspberries, and a banana. Creamy, smooth, and very green. Loved it. 293 calories. I’m doing Noom (have been for a year now), and this smoothie challenge is jump-starting 2020 for me. Thanks!

    Very enjoyable. Nice blend of fruits and veggies. I add Kale to mine for an extra boost since I don’t like smoothies too sweet.

    Day 4
    I liked the Very Berry Smoothie berry much. It was nice with the orange in it. Jack, my husband, said it was not one of his favorites, but isn’t it great we have options.
    We have a bingo today. Gotta figure out how to post it.

    It was ok I guess. Strawberries are kind of tart. Maybe the almond milk made it taste a little off?

    I hate to say that I did not really like this one. I made it into a meal replacement with chia and coconut oil so not sure if that made a difference. I will try again without the extras to see if I like it better.

    I enjoyed this one! Both of my strawberries and mangos were frozen so it was extra cold which I love! Loved the flavor and the name of the smoothie 😉
