Strawberry Mango Smoothie


Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this Strawberry Mango Smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw.

That was 6 years ago, and now he’s got a little baby girl who will be gulping this smoothie down in a few more months, I’m sure! I mean, what’s not to love? Strawberries + mango is a fabulous combination.

Strawberries Have More Vitamin C Than Oranges

It’s true! Strawberries knock it out of the park in the vitamin C department. A diet rich in vitamin C will help keep your immune system in tip-top shape.

Strawberries are also low in sugar and high in fiber making them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush and keep your levels more stable.

Mango: The Best Tropical Fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. Juicy, sweet, chock full of vitamin A, fiber, and best eaten standing over the sink with juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie and it’s instantly got an island vibe going on. I like to buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s almost always cheaper than my local grocery store.

Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Description

This smoothie is also known as “Pink Flamango”. Strawberry and mango are the perfect compliments to one another in this recipe.  Both are mildly sweet, and draw out the flavors of the other. Add some creamy almond milk to the mix and you get a smoothie worth blending over and over.


Scale

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup strawberries
  • ½ cup mango

Instructions

  1. Place spinach and almond milk in blender.
  2. Puree until smooth.
  3. Add remaining fruit and blend again.

Notes

Use at least one frozen fruit to make the smoothie cold or serve over ice.

    Day 2 – Pink Flamingo. I really enjoyed this one. I love the tropical taste of the mango and strawberries!!

    Day 3 Pineapple Dream was good with the cherries, first time I’ve used cherries in a smoothies.

    Day 4 Very Berry; I had to replace the strawberries with mixed berries, my strawberries had gone bad.

    Pink Flamango was as delicious as the bane suggests. Another tropical delight with almond milk which really gave this a great flavor. I really loved this one!

    This is scrummy. Water instead of almond milk. Added pea protein and chia seeds. Will make this one again but I’d like to have more veggies in the smoothies.

    Day 7 Peach Dream
    Not one of Jacks favorites but I especially liked the peach and grapes
    together. Of course, I like the sweeter smoothies.
    BTW we had 2 bingos in 1 day… Yay!
