Mango Melon Madness Green Smoothie

Mango Melon Madness

Pro tip: next time you crack open a watermelon, cut some of it into tiny cubes and freeze on tray. Toss into an airtight, freezer-proof container and use in smoothies to make them extra cold. Hey, while you’re at it – buy an extra watermelon or two and freeze a whole bunch. Add some to your wintertime smoothies and those summer memories will come rushing back!

Raise your hand if you can’t get enough watermelon this summer? (*raises hand*) Watermelon is a great way to naturally sweeten your green smoothie AND it adds a good dose of lycopene, Vitamins A and C, and dietary fiber into your day. Mangos give this smoothie a nice, silky texture and another boost of Vitamin A. Coconut water adds another sweet, hydrating element. And of course, the green element – spinach – is loaded with iron, vitamins and minerals. This is one refreshing, antioxidant packed green smoothie!

  • 1 cup fresh spinach
  • 1 cup coconut water
  • 3/4 cup diced mango
  • 3/4 cup diced melon*

  1. Blend spinach and coconut water until smooth.
  2. Add remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!

*Any melon can be used. *Use at least one frozen fruit to make smoothie cold.

  2. Anna says:

Can you add any other greens to this??

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

Totally! Feel free to use any greens you like :). Kale, chard, cabbage, romaine, and baby bok choy are some of our favorites!

  3. retta says:

I’m still new to green smoothies and some smoothies just are too green for me but I made this one and used cantaloupe and it’s now one of my favorites!

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

Hi. I just stumbled upon your site and I am already addicted. I learnt yesterday that my metabolic age is 48..sob..sob..and I am only 34. I need to make some changes.
Would like to know, what can I use in place of spinach? I don’t know where I can get nice fresh ones.

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

  5. Annabel says:

Hi, I was wondering about two things. Di you just blend in the seeds of the watermelon? Or do you remove them all before blending? (I hope not, because thats a lot of work ๐Ÿ˜‰ And second: If you add chia seeds, do you also blend them in, or add after blending? I thought maybe the blending destroys the gelling effect?
Thanks for all your recipes, I just got my blender today and will be trying my first juice tomorrow for lunch ๐Ÿ˜€

    Best regards, Annabel

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Annabel,

We love to blend the watermelon seeds + all! As well, you can either soak chia seeds before blending and at them to your smoothie, or sprinkle them on top right before drinking!

      Cheers ๐Ÿ™‚

  6. Poppy says:

This might sound a bit silly considering the recipe I’m on but I can’t eat mango, though I’d love to try a smoothie with melon! Are there any other fruits that would complement? Your recipes are now an integral part of my diet and well-being! <3

    • SGS Rawkstar says:

      Hi Poppy,

So happy you’re enjoying our green smoothies! Feel free to substitute oranges, pears, and peaches in place of mango.

  7. Lorraine says:

Could one add chia seeds, protein powder, almonds etc to the above in order to increase the protein level?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie says:

      Hey Lorraine.

Those are great proteins. We like to use 1 serving of protein per 16 oz of smoothies for a meal replacement.

  8. Suren Van Kyle says:

Hi I tried the smoothie today and it was a bit weird but it was nice having the taste weird. I could taste the freshness of the watermelons and the juiciness of the mango.

    Thank u

  9. LATONYA says:

I really don’t like anything with coconut!!!! Can I use soy milk or 1% milk instead?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie says:

Hey Latonya. We prefer switching in almond milk or water. Here is a link to our favorite smoothies:

  11. Robyn says:

Love the freezeing watermelon cubes idea. I never really do it, because we usually eat it all before we need to, but this summer I’ll buy in bulk. And mango always makes everything alright, right?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie says:

Yes, we love bulk freezing yummy fruits from the summer season. Mangos are rawsome in smoothies too. ๐Ÿ™‚

  12. Keflyn says:

Every time I made a smoothie, I always get a lot of pulp separation. Meaning a lot of the liquid sinks to the bottom while I’m gulping down lumpy pulp. Is there a way to stop the separation other than mixing it

  13. Kit says:

With a coconut allergy, I have to avoid it. Will this have a similar taste without just activated water or does that kill the flavor?

  14. suzan says:

Tried the mango melon madness this morning. I was put off by tasting some ingredients but made it anyways. Was greatly surprised by the taste now i have to get over the colour(its a bit off putting) and it will be great.
