Also known affectionately as “Pink Flamango,” this strawberry mango smoothie was created by my very first SGS rawkstar team member, Dan Mottayaw. That was 8 years ago, and now he’s got a toddler who gulps this smoothie down! It warms my heart to see kids growing up on leafy greens + fruit, like this delicious strawberry mango smoothie recipe.

Did you know that strawberries actually have more vitamin C than oranges? It’s true! These sweet berries shine in this strawberry mango smoothie recipe, both in flavor and in nutrients.

Strawberries are also low in sugar + high in fiber, which makes them a great smoothie addition for anyone who is watching their blood sugar levels. The fiber helps avoid a blood sugar rush, as well as keep your levels more stable. They are naturally sweet, so they are a great sweet treat in a smoothie, or straight off the stem.

Mango: the best tropical fruit

Okay, I know that statement is very subjective, but I really, really LOVE mangoes. I could eat them all day long and never tire of them – blended in this strawberry mango smoothie as well as freshly peeled.

Mango is like the tropical version of a peach. It’s juicy + sweet and chock full of vitamin A and fiber. Make sure and stand over the sink while eating a fresh one, because you’ll have juice dripping down your chin. No shame here! Add some mango to your smoothie to instantly get an island vibe going. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco when using it in this strawberry mango smoothie, because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store.

This Strawberry Mango Smoothie is mildly sweet, and draw out the flavors of the other fruit. Add some creamy almond milk to the mix and you get a smoothie worth blending over and over.

    Can’t give 5 stars because I swapped ingredients. I only had kale on hand so it’s a little bit stronger than spinach. I also had to substitute out mixed berries for strawberries because I didn’t have them. So in essence mine is the purple flamingo. I actually added my plant-based vanilla protein to make this a meal replacement shake and that helped boost the flavor a little bit. I will try it again when I have the proper ingredients.

    This one got 4 stars, only because the color is a little off putting. Close your eyes and it goes to 5 stars. It’s delicious and so healthy.

    The taste is good. I was, of course, expecting a nice pink coloured smoothie but of course with the addition of spinach it will never be pink just a brownish green. Feels like it needs something, maybe a banana? Not sure. but overall it’s enjoyable and there’s no denying I’m putting something nutritious in my body.

    I traded coconut milk instead of almond milk which I think may have overpowered the other ingredients but I love the creaminess of this smoothie.

    Tried your beginners luck smoothie yesterday and found it to be a different taste. I used frozen mango and pineapple and a fresh banana and it resulted in a slightly cool drink. Next time believe I will add a little ice to it to make it a little colder and not quite so concentrated. Not a bad start to a new experience, Looking forward to the trying the rest of the smoothies.

    Today’s smoothie was a real winner for me. It had a great taste and texture and the sweetness of the strawberries and the creamy almond milk made it rich and delicious.     The pink Flamango didn’t thrill me. Not sure why. I love green smoothies. It could have been because I used unsweetened Almond/coconut milk??? I drank it, but I don’t think I’ll make it again. I am also using Kale instead of spinach since spinach is high in histamines and I’m avoiding allergies. Maybe that made the difference. Onward and forward to the next one.

    I enjoyed this smoothie. It will be a nice summer smoothie when the strawberries are fresh. I find it easier to just chuck in 1/4 cup of almonds and a cup of water rather than bothering with the almond milk. I always have almonds on hand, and that’s part of the recipe for making almond milk. I just skip the straining step and enjoy blending it directly into my smoothie. I did add half an avocado to turn it into a meal.

    I liked this smoothie, but so far day 1 is my favorite. Also my strawberries weren’t as ripe as they should have been. I bought the ripest ones they had though. I’m also not use to Almond milk so it wasn’t a flavor I am accustomed to. I will make it again though. I think I’ll try adding different things to give it more flavor.

    I added super greens mix to.mine today, arugula, swiss chard and spinach, the greens are a little over powering but it’s still good!

    Pink Flamingo was not so pink (in fact color was a bit of a turn off) but fixed that by pouring into a red cup. Love the taste, though!! Had seen comments about it being too thick so added a bit of water and it blended perfectly.

    Wasn’t really prepared to make this smoothie. Dressed and out of the door at 5:50 am to get ingredients from grocery store. I didn’t get upset when I arrived at the grocery store and there were no fresh strawberries, or blueberries. (This happens to me almost every time when I need something specific for a recipe I want to try.) There was someone stocking produce so I asked if they had any in the back. Yes! They did and everything was on sale! I got everything home and blended enough for three servings, two for me and one for hubby to have when he decided get up? I enjoyed this mixture so much…this is only day two, but I believe I’m hooked.

    So yummy. Just the right amount of sweet. I added a bit more almond milk than called for to thin it out. But still super thick. Love it.

    I made mine a complete meal with almond butter and coconut oil. Yum!

    Great recipe, but I found I had to add more liquid to my frozen fruits since the mixture seized in my blender. The flavor is great and the strawberry really shined through in this smoothie. Would make again, but add more liquid.

    I started my day off with this bad boy and LOVED it!! It’s the perfect combination of sweet and tart (my strawberries were a little less on the sweet side lol). I’m loving the creaminess of these smoothies. Only 2 days into the 10-day challenge but I’ve always put my greens in the blender last, on top of everything else. What a difference making them this way!! Is it bad to have another one of these after my workout in the afternoon? 😉

    The Pink Flamingo -though refreshing- is not my favorite. But, used it as a meal replacement a few hours ago, adding plant based protein powder and water after I drank the first 5oz… and took it on the go commuting to school.     Super thick. Just ok. I’m guessing I used too many whole frozen strawberries. I had to add a splash of water to get it to a drinkable consistency. To me the almond milk is meh.

    I really liked the taste of the pink flamingo. Though the smoothie was not pink. Without the spinach it would be. I added in fresh mint and chia seeds. It was really fresh tasting with the mint.

    Loved the fruit combo! Strawberries are the key! Frozen ones are hit or miss. Especially here in Canada!

    Not a fan of this one. I think it is the strawberries. Although I love fresh strawberries I don’t seem to enjoy them in a smoothie. I wonder if it is b/c I use frozen ones for smoothies.

      I am sorry you were not a fan of this recipe! Sometimes with strawberries if they are not perfectly ripe they will not taste that great and you will need to add in some extra sweetener. Also frozen strawberries can not be as sweet sometimes too. If you run into that again feel free to add some extra all natural sweeteners to your smoothie like these:
