My brain food smoothie pairs hemp hearts and a little avocado, both rich in healthy fats, with a big handful of spinach, ripe pear and mango. Coconut water keeps it light, and it is ready in 5 minutes for foggy mornings.
Pour the coconut water into a blender. Add the spinach and blend on high until smooth.
Add the pear, mango, avocado and hemp hearts (or save the hemp hearts to sprinkle on top). Blend on high until smooth, 45 to 60 seconds, adding a splash more liquid if it's too thick. Pour into a glass and serve immediately.
Notes
Greens Swap: Use kale, romaine or other leafy greens in place of the spinach.
Fruit Swaps: Use a banana instead of the pear for a sweeter smoothie, or frozen pineapple or berries in place of the mango.
Pantry Swaps: Chia seeds or ground flaxseed work in place of the hemp hearts, and plain water or almond milk can replace the coconut water.
Storing: Best fresh, but it keeps in a sealed jar in the fridge for up to 24 hours. Shake before drinking.
