Although not a 100% fan of all the recipes or ingredients this was truly a great challenge to get our family out of a rut. I wish the challenge had been during warmer weather, here in the midwest it snowed twice during the challenge which doesn’t exactly scream “salad-weather” After locating the substitution menu, and seeking out suggestions from other challengee’s, we did it. My family loved the taco salad and it was so easy to sub/omit what everyone likes/doesn’t like in a dish like this.
It has been great fun! Hubby has thoroughly being along for the ride and has enjoyed trying to taste what ingredients are in the salads! Thanks Jen and the recipe developers for yet once again stretching me out of my sometimes boring “comfort zone”! I have thoroughly enjoyed most of the salads – arugula is still not my favourite ingredient but I am “warming” to it! I have loved challenging my conventional taste buds and trying ingredients together that I would not ordinarily pair together! Looking forward to the spring cleanse!
I did not realize how invested I was going to get in this challenge and did not realize how mundane my salads have been. I tried new things like fennel and arugula. I have new go to salads for picnics and boring meals that I think everyone will love. Even as I am ending this journey I’m already planning my salads for next week. It is hard to pick a favorite recipe but I am going with the carrot salad. I think this will be a staple for my meals when I need a little crunch and sweet. I even used it as a filler for a sandwich to give my lunch a little pizazz. Thanks for the challenge.
What a gift to not have to think about what fruit/veg serving to make for the day! This salad challenge was fantastic for its variety and for its surprises. Little details like the pepitas in the Caesar salad or orange juice instead of lemon juice in the fruit salad really elevated each salad in this challenge. Each recipe was simple and easy to do with ingredients I already had in my pantry and fridge. It would be easy to sub in/out ingredients to suit your tastes if needed but as-is these recipes rawked! With a great mix of familiar tastes and newer flavour profiles this salad challenge switched it up daily and always had me eagerly anticipating the next day’s recipe. If you’re bored of your salad or veg rotation this challenge is perfect for you as it will keep your taste buds on their toes and happy happy happy!
I really enjoyed this challenge. I’m typically not a salad person because they seem so boring. This was a fun mix of lots of different kinds. Some I liked more than others but all were good. I’ll make them again. I even lost 2 lbs who knows if it was the salads but I’m thinking so! Since I’m not very creative on my own it was awesome to have pictures and instructions. Thanks!!
I had a fabulous adventure exploring the unknown Amazon of the salad world! A salad made of carrots or an amazing blend of berries was truly a first for me! There were so many new ingredients new flavors new textures and new combinations that really opened my cooking expertise. I’m sincerely grateful for the new knowledge and friends I’ve met while on this 10-Day journey! Thank you so much!
I loved to variety of salads chosen for the 10 day challenge. My favorite was the Kale Caesar with Pasta Salad and Mixed Green coming in behind that. It was an adventure getting creative with all the salads.
This 10 Day Salad challenge and Run/Walk challenge has been a great jumpstart into spring. My husband and I loved the various salads. Gotta love the spring veggies they’re Rawkin’! We were most amazed by the versatility of the cashew cream. Love! Love! Love! Looking forward to springing into the 21 day cleanse coming up in April! These challenges all truly help us focus and commit to our plant based eating…love being a part of this amazing community!!
Flavorful and delicious recipes
Fun & helpful to motivate a healthy change.
This really delivered the energy, mental clarity and delicious pleasure that I needed to get through dreary March in Quebec.
This 10 day salad challenge was a great boost for me on my journey to add more fruits and veggies to my diet. Since a member of my household can’t eat raw greens, I rarely make green salads. This challenge encouraged me to incorporate them into regular lunches for myself. My favorite salads in this challenge are the Sweet & Crunchy Salad and the Bright Berry Salad. Thank you for developing this challenge!
This challenge came at a perfect time. I have been wanting to eat more wholesome, nutritious foods in my diet, but I’ve never found that gratification in salads. My problem has been not knowing what ingredients to mix in and put together, especially when it comes to dressings. I have avoided salads because I like fattening dressings and have missed out because of it. My favorite salads were the sweet and crunchy, the pasta salad, and the taco salad. None of them tasted alike, which was nice. The only problem I had was that I live in a very small town and we do not get all of the ingredients at our local store to make all of these salads. Some of the salads I had to leave ingredients out and don’t feel I got the full experience, but I did incorporate more healthy foods and got several recipes I will keep for future delicious choices. Thank you for this awesome challenge!
This was a great opportunity to try new flavours and new dishes. I would recommend taking part in this challenge. Go with an open mind and you will be rewarded!
This challenge was a nice incentive to get out everyday, even when it was cold. The salad recipes are unique and add variety to the usual meals I normally have.
This was my first challenge with SGS. I enjoyed every single recipe. I applaud the variety of salads that were in the challenge….I was always stuck with simple lettuce based salads that now I look as boring. This challenge opened my eyes to new ingredients that now I’m happy to eat again. Also, it made me see that I can totally eat one salad a day….something that seemed impossible before. I just need to plan a little bit ahead and be ready. Thank you, this was great.
