Anything that brings people together creating fun and momentum for health is a win in my books. Loved this!
Awesome fun
The salads and their dressings were amazing. The dressings were so easy to make even though I have never made homemade dressing before. Some of the greens I have never eaten some of the herbs and spices I have never seen but they all work wonderfully together. Thanks to Run the Edge for making this possible and known for us to join.
Skeptical but Pleasantly Surprised and Full
Thank you to the whole Simple Green Smoothies team as well as your sponsors: Vitamix OrganicGirl and Run The Year!!! The 10-salad challenge was an excellent way to incorporate more vegetables and fruits nuts and seeds into my meals and more movement with the fitness challenge too!! I really enjoy the motivation and encouragement from the private Support group. It’s great to see/read about other participants’ experiences and ideas. All the salads had fabulous flavour and colour combinations!! My favourite was the Healthy Pasta salad – delicious and hearty. I look forward to making the Vegan Potato and/or Kale Caesar salads for a family barbecue or picnic. Top surprise goes to the Crunchy Carrot salad for being so simple yet elegant with a tasty tang. And although I didn’t make the Bright Berry salad (I made berry smoothies instead) I certainly plan to have some yummy local fruit in the summer. Thanks again for a tasty 10 days!
Great way to eat more greens!
There are so many things I loved about the salad challenge. For one I have never strictly followed a meal plan ever in my life and did not expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I also really appreciate having new lighter salad dressings in my repertoire. Being from northern Michigan where winter lasts up to six weeks longer than other parts of Michigan the crispy green vegetables really boosted our moods. Even hubby got into it! Thank you for a really great challenge!
Reset? You bet!
When I signed up for the challenge I expected all green salads all the time for 10 days. I was so wrong – I loved the variety of textures & flavors in each recipe. Even more I loved the variety in types of salads – after 2 days of mostly green stuff we pivoted to a potato salad then halfway through we enjoyed an amazing berry salad followed by a pasta salad. I also loved how every salad was not a full meal offering me the opportunity to find new ways to add more plants to my days without completely giving up dairy or the occasional meat or poultry dish.
A New Hit Variety Show!
Who would have thought making 10 salads for 10 days would be such a kick!? I like salads mostly but I don’t love making them. The Salad Challenge was super fun and my husband and ate and loved all of the healthy nutritious beautiful tasty and creative salads. It was great receiving all the encouragement good tips and seeing the other salad creations. Who would have thought that I would eat and enjoy so may things I am not a huge fan of but put together with other ingredients that balance all the flavors was a wonderful surprise! I loved this challenge! At least 5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐!
Who would have thought salads were fun?!
Each salad was amazing than I expected. Actually, I was not a Salad Person. I’ve never made dressings on my Vitamix. But, the strawberry dressing on the first day was an eye-opener to me! Also I’ll add cashew-cream, walnuts meat to my favorites. My husband were also happy. So, favorite recipe is Taco Meat Salad. Surprisingly, after just a few days of eating, they promoted regular bowel movements. Pleasantly surprised! Again, so happy with this challenge! Thank you for inviting me this challenge.
Amazing Recipe
At first I wasn’t sure about some of the ingredients but as the challenge progressed and seeing others post their great reviews and support was an inspiration to try new ingredients! Plus I got in 10 days of fitness – 23 miles plus my gym workouts! I did all 10 days of salads and my favs were the taco and Caesar salads. I just got my copy of Simple Green Smoothies and excited to do my own 10 day smoothie challenge! Thank you!
Simply Amazing Salads!
Absolutely love making my own salad dressings but wouldn’t be as successful without SGS! Everyday was a new delicious salad experience! I have my favorites (the crunchy carrot salad) but they were all a wonderful medley of goodness. Thanks SGS!
Salad again! YES!!
fabulous
veggin it up
Having the variety of a different salad each day kept me interested and feeling so much better. I knew I needed to incorporate more plant based eating and this was a fabulous way to start! Committing to following this program pushed me out of my “rut” and enabled me to try things I probably wouldn’t have! I enjoyed this so much I am repeating again this week!
Life Saving, Yummy way to celebrate Spring!
Fun, informative and worth the effort .
Culinary treat
I like that this challenge promoted healthy eating. I liked all the different salad recipes that were provided each day. This was a great challenge.
Wonderful challenge
I absolutely loved this 10 day salad challenge! It was a great way to try new and different salads, I have to say every one was a winner! My husband and I have been trying to eat cleaner and greener this year and this was a perfect way to compliment that journey. We are both just recently retired and our mission is to eat healthy, exercise more and enjoy our “senior” years lol…60 is the new 40. Thanks Jen and the whole team at simple green smoothies!💚
Love is GREEN!
I had stopped eating salads as I got bored with them. But this 10 day challenge made it simple and tasty for me too get back into eating salads again. Even my mom enjoyed it to as we shared the salads. We both will continue adding a salad to our meals every day. My mom even had better bowel movements during the last 10 days. Thank you for the challenge.
Can’t wait to see what’s salad is next!
I have been doing these SGS cleanses, resets and challenges for almost a year now and I always look forward to the next one. This salad challenge reminded me that salads are not always composed of leafy greens and really expanded my horizons. My 17 yr old daughter even agreed to do it with me this time! Our favorites were the taco salad (she used ranch dressing instead of the cashew cream though) and the pasta salad. I also really enjoyed the strawberry mixed greens. My daughter’s least favorite was the vegan potato salad and the lemon arugula salad. She’s decided she doesn’t like arugula! I’m thankful to have tried new things that I never would have tried without this challenge. Looking forward to the spring cleanse up next!!!
Salads for days…10 days, that is!
I loved this 10-Day Salad Challenge. It was exciting to try some different salad and dressing ideas. I especially loved the strawberry dressing – so fresh tasting with the basil. I’m a big kale lover so the Kale Caesar Salad is a new favorite. I loved the walnut ‘meat’ in the taco salad, and the potato salad is a new go to. Thanks for the challenge. It has kick-started my spring. Anne
Greens are Great
I loved this challenge! I enjoyed most of the salads but really what I loved is I was able to be introduced to new foods (hello cashew cream and walnut taco “meat”!) in a way that felt super easy and not intimidating at all. I tried to make most of the recipes as written to really see if I would like them but having the substitutions and reading what others did via the fb group encouraged me to experiment and do what felt fun and sounded tasty. I tackled things that I’ve always found intimidating including making my own dressings and now I don’t think I can ever go back to store bought. I am happy I’m ending this challenge not just with new recipes but some fun ideas for combining new flavor profiles and more confidence to not overthink food and simple can still be really satisfying. I also love that I’ve found great ways to reduce the meat consumption of my family and can provide tasty, filling options that they love.
