Best Blenders: NutriBullet Review

Watch this NutriBullet review video and read the full post to decide if this blender is right for you!

NutriBullet Review

Behind every tasty green smoothie is a powerful blender that turns fruits, veggies, and other raw ingredients into creamy green goodness.

Not all blenders are created equal, though.

My quest is to find the best blenders on the market (and the worst!) so you can decide which blender is right for you.

Today, I’m doing a NutriBullet review with their Pro 900 Series blender. In the demo video (below), I use our infamous Beginner’s Luck green smoothie recipe to test the power and efficacy of this bullet blender.

Watch the video to see this blender in action, and scroll down further for more pros & cons, product specs, and comment at the bottom with your own personal review!

VIDEO: NutriBullet Review

Here’s the specs:

  • Type: Bullet blender (also known as an inverted blender)
  • Price: $89 (this is Amazon’s price, which is usually the best deal)
  • Motor: 900 watts
  • Jar size: 32 ounce BPA-free container
  • Warranty: 1 year limited

Is a NutriBullet better than a standard blender?

A NutriBullet blender is known as a “bullet blender” or an “inverted blender.” It works pretty much the same as any other standard blender. So, is it better than a standard blender? It depends on what your needs are. If you’re blending for a family, then this probably isn’t the best choice because of the 32 oz jar. Most standard blenders have 48 oz jars or larger. But if you’re looking for something that has a significant amount of power and is compact, then this blender is for you.

NutriBullet Review Specs

Which NutriBullet is best for smoothies?

NutriBullet has several types of blenders. You might be more familiar with the long-standing Magic Bullet blender (which I believe is their original model). There’s also the standard NutriBullet, NutriBullet Balance, NutriBullet RX, and of course… the NutriBullet Pro.

Our recommendation is the NutriBullet Pro. It has the best price point and is so simple to use! I’ve tried other NutriBullets that have power buttons, bluetooth settings, and more, but I prefer the simplicity and dependability of the pro version.

Who should get this blender?

Anyone can get this blender, though it works best for small families or people that are single. As far as smoothies go, it can make a maximum of two servings. It fits nicely in smaller kitchens that have limited storage, and also works nicely on-the-go (for all you van-lifers out there!).

I hope you learned a lot through this NutriBullet review! Now it’s your turn to share…

I am so all about Simple Green Smoothies, and also some complex green smoothies too! I just love smoothies, and am ok with a little bit of texture in them. I have a big blender but would love, Love, LOVE a little personal blender for day to day blending. In fact, this Sunday, I am doing a little neighborhood nutrition demo as part of the bike and walking club that I belong to, and we are having a bit of a Healthy Green Smoothie Jamboree with samples for all participants, as we educate about our health “off the bike”. So, truly would love to have one of these! Plus it would be portable and could go with me to Tucson for school. YAY! Thank you for all of your delish recipes and for the program that got me started! You rawk! 🙂

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

Wow that is so awesome to hear!! I wish I was a part of your neighborhood. The NutriBullet really is a great little blender with a lot of power!

  2. Theresa says:

Freeze leftover smoothie in an ice tray and then store in a baggie. When you are in a hurry you can plop them in your bullet for a quick blend and go!

  3. Karen says:

I love how compact this blender is. I would love to take it with when I am staying in a hotel for vacations, weekend “away” tournaments for my kids sports, or an overnight stay at “grandmas” or a friends!

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

      Hey Karen,

Thank you for sharing that with us. It really is the perfect blender for traveling!!

  4. Michelle Smith says:

Great review! I would love one for the smaller footprint and ease to take on vacations. Not to mention, minimal cleanup without having to compromise on quality!

  5. Rebbecca Smith says:

Loved your video. I myself have had, and still have, a nutribullet. Also have a veggie bullet and a nutribullet Rx. Love them all!! But, we use them DAILY and keep burning the motors out! I have contacted the company because my fav feature is on the Rx, hot soup maker!! Have had no luck with a rsponse and that was weeks ago. Hope I hear something soon. Good luck to everyone and whomever wins you’ll love your nutribullet!!!

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

      Hey Rebbecca,

I am so sorry to hear about your Nutribullet. I hope you hear something back soon as well!!

  6. Nancy Zuchowski says:

I would love one of these as we are on the go so often in our camper. I really miss my daily smoothies when we camp. My Vitamix is just too big and heavy to bring along. I would love to keep my daily smoothie habit going when we travel.

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

Thank you for sharing Nancy!! This would really be the best blender to bring on camping trips 🙂

  7. Christine Gloeckner says:

I love the compact size of the nutribullet! Less space on my counter and single serve smoothies!!! Win- win!

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

Yes!! You don’t have to worry if it will fit under your cabinets which is so great!!

  8. tamarie says:

i love the simplicity of the nutribullet! it looks much easier to clean than my vitamix, and i would be likely to use it more often. thank you!

  9. Kerry says:

Thanks for the demo. This would be a great blender size to help teach my youngest daughter how to make green smoothies a part of her daily routine. We are hoping that adding more nutrients into her diet will help strengthen her immune system.

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

      Hey Kerry,

Yes! This really would be a great way to teach your daughter hot to make green smoothies 🙂

  10. MB says:

This looks GREAT!!! Would love that 32 oz container! I loved having a Vitamix, but this looks FAST and EASY! 🙂

  11. Lucrece Pierre-Carr says:

Great video! I would love this option for my teenage kids to encourage them to drink green smoothies. We have a Vitamix, but it isn’t always necessary to make a big batch of smoothies. This nutribullet seems easy to use and does the job.

  12. Kelli Wallace says:

Anything that makes it easier to make daily smoothies for my 2 and 5 year olds and myself is a winner in my book! We’d love it! Thanks for the wonderful smoothie recipes and inspiration, Jen! 🙂

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

That is so awesome that your 2 and 5 year old are smoothie rawkstars too!!! Thank you for sharing that with us 🙂

  13. Sarah says:

I’ve fallen out of the daily green smoothie habit because my full size blender is kind of a pain to clean because I live alone and make smoothies just for myself. I’d love to have a bullet blender so that I can get back into that healthy habit.

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

      Hey Sarah,

Thank you for sharing that with us. The Nutribullet really is so easy to move around and clean up and that is one of the reasons we love it.

  14. Serena A. says:

I would love to have this so that my husband and I can get more into making and having smoothies at home, especially after my husband been diagnosed as having gastroparesis. This would really help us to have a healthier breakfast choose for the both of us. Thank you for the chance at winning this blender, it looks simple to use.

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

      Hey Serena,

Thank you for sharing that with us. I am so sorry to hear about your husband and I know that he is super lucky to have you in his life.

  15. Teri says:

I would love to have the nutribullet pro! I need a new and powerful blender to start making smoothies more often!

  16. Keisha says:

I’ve had the standard nutribullet for a few years now, its actually on its way out from all my smoothie blending lol. I would love to see how the pro works and it seems simple enough for me to make my smoothie in the morning and get out the door.

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

Thanks for sharing Keisha! The Pro Nutribullet really is such a great blender.

  17. Dawna says:

I would love a nutribullet when I am prepping my smoothie to take to work or pick up my daughter on our way to ballet.

  18. Monica Butler says:

My husband and I (early and mid 50’s) need to lose about 200 lbs between the two of us. Our vegan son graduates college in NY in May n stays for his job and our very healthy college graduate daughter is getting married in July so we official empty nesters won’t have either of them home for encouragement! BUT the ease and size of this blender would really help us on this weight loss journey! Especially since we’re figuring out how to eat healthy for two people (not sure what we did when we got married 27 yrs ago!) Also I’ve have Multiple Sclerosis and I read that a plant based diet is best, so including green smoothies into my diet could be super helpful with the disease but I need the right tools to do that!

    • SGS Rawkstar Carissa says:

Thank you for sharing that with us Monica! This blender really would be perfect to brand new empty nesters. Good luck with everything you have coming up with your family.

      Happy blending!!

  19. TC says:

I always wanted a Nutri Bullet. I like the idea of making individual smoothies and easily take it on the go.

  20. Monique & Zion says:

Hi Y’all! Current grad student here (“living” on a grad student budget). I recently shifted to a more plant based diet because a) meat is expensive and b) I’ve been putting off losing my freshman 15 for 5 extra years. Also, I take my nephew on the weekends and he has been so open minded about trying vegetarian recipes with me… which is huge since we come from a “if there’s no meat on the plate it’s not a meal” type of family. And he’s 13 and hormonal and finicky blah… but he opened up to me about wanting to get into better shape himself so he can feel more confident and pass the mile run test in gym class next year. It turns out he loves smoothies and asks to make one every time he comes over now. We usually try a new recipe for breakfast or brunch and have just added golden coconut milk to our bedtime routine (YUM). Anyways, I got my blender from Goodwill and it gets the job done but we never actually have smooth smoothies and the blender always has a hard time breaking down the ingredients no matter what order we try. I went to look at new blenders and the display models exposed just how dull my machine is. My nephew is a real trooper regardless and encourages ME that it’s the effort not the product that matters (LOL!!!!) and he’s a totally good sport about hacking up a chunk of kale nonchalantly when it goes down his drinking pipe. We’d definitely make good use of this blender as part of our accountabili-buddy weekends and having proper equipment would certainly increase the appeal of smoothies and their fullest most delicious potential. He’s going to stay with a family friend of ours for a bit over the summer to get out of the city and this would be small and compact enough for him to pack along and make single serve smoothies to keep up his progress during that week. Thanks for facilitating this give-away and for having so many free recipes available for folks! And thanks for your consideration.

    Yes I want to win!

  22. Daniella says:

  23. Crystal Jacob says:

Hello, and I have been interested in a personal blender to get healthier. I love how far you have come in your journey I would love to experiance that too. I have dabbled in some smoothies but it’s been hard without proper equipment. Looking forward to being a healthier mom for my children.

  24. LeeAnn O says:

I Love the compact design. I’m downsizing my home and my waist!

  25. Asia says:

Love the compact size perfect for one person smoothie

    • Nicole says:

I’m an unemployed mom of 5 on a budget who loves and needs smoothies to feel healthy and energized. Having a better quality blender would help cost of replacing the cheapy ones every few months.

  26. Erin Tyre says:

I’ve had my current bullet for years! I’ve even worn off 2 out of the 3 tabs on the container making it a little more difficult to blend I would love to replace my current one with the Pro to keep our smoothies rolling!!

  27. Jennifer VanDenHeuvel says:

I would love to win this blender for my son to take to college. I’m working on getting him to eat healthier and he is starting to enjoy smoothies in the morning for breakfast. This would be perfect for him to continue making the good stuff at school!

PICK ME! PiCK ME!! PICK MEEEEEE! <3

    Longtime RAWKSTAR, first-time commenter here!
I started drinking green smoothies in 2015 and I haven't looked back since! Drinking a daily green smoothie has been the best thing I've done to maintain my health! I was a picky eater for the first 30 years of my life – meat, potatoes, other starches, and fruit – absolutely NO green veggies. One morning, my friend Rose made a green smoothie for us and it changed my life, so I found your website, signed up for all the reminders and emails, and have proudly been a pseudo-brand ambassador for Simple Green Smoothies for years (with glowing skin to prove it!)

In my hears of being a dedicated RAWKSTAR, I've tried lots of blenders and nothing compares to this powerhouse. I've bought the Hamilton Beach single serve blender (extremely affordable and perfect for one person, but the container was too small for me), regular kitchen blenders with multiple speeds (also good but you end up having to do a lot of steps in order to get rid of the chunks), Vitamix blender (the G.O.A.T. except it's pricey!), and more. It's super easy to clean and store, plus with the powerful motor you can just blend it for 30-45 seconds and you have a creamy green smoothie! My friends have had this blender for the past few years and they love it. It makes just enough to share with someone or you can drink it all by yourself (I like to add avocado to my smoothie & drink it as a meal replacement)! Comes with 3-4 additional plastic containers…

I hope this review helps others to find the right tools to be healthier! #PickMe #Rawkstar #SimpleGreenSmoothies

  29. Connie Follin says:

A small poweful blender is just what I need to make my green smoothies every morning. It is also sleek and would look great on my kitchen counter. ( I dont like a lot of stuff on my counters:) )

  30. Ronnie Whitman says:

The bullet pro would be perfect for me and the price of “winning it” would be a great blessing on my fixed income.
I am disabled due to severe gastroparesis and dumping syndrome.
The small size would be perfect and the power of it is excellent.
    Looking forward to blending….

  31. Margie Petrone says:

Good blender. My friend loves it and rerecently I was thinking about getting it. Thanks for the informative video. Very impressed. Love the size. Thanks for sharing

  32. Andria says:

It would make me a better rawkstar

  33. Nancy Wheatley says:

My regular blender just broke and cannot affird ti get another one rught now. Have been following the green smoothies from here. Upset i cant make them right now. Love your site

  34. Cathy McCra says:

Beautiful Demo. I had a Vitamix, did not like it. I have a very old Nutribullet that I Love but is on its last leg. I would love a newer replacement. Thank you for all you do.

  35. Cynthia says:

Awesome video and demonstration! Was making green smoothies daily for my family and my almost 90 year old Dad when the kids were home, but found the Vitamix is too big for one or two of us now that they have moved out. It’s been months since I’ve enjoyed one and my body is letting me know! I struggle with consuming leftover smoothies- and Dad doesn’t care for them either-they can be pretty ‘gaggy’ the next day! Your demo really ‘spoke’ to me! Would love to get back into the routine and enjoy a tummy green smoothie and the health benefits. Hoping the Nutribullet can help us out! (I loved that you showed the struggle with removing the lid when it was a bit tight. I’m no longer young and can see that I might want to keep one of those rubber jar lid helpers on hand. don’t want it leaking, but may no longer have the muscles necessary to get it off!- Great review!

  36. Anita Quinn says:

Great demo! You did fantastic! I have been in search of a new blender and this one looks like a good one and just the right size. My husband and I are in are in our mid 50’S and although we have tried to do our best by keeping healthy , have learned we need to make some dietary changes. We have been reading a lot on how to incorporate more fresh foods in our diet and your smoothies have been a game changer for us. It would be great to have a blender that makes enough for two at one time. We just bought your first book and look forward to trying all the smoothies in it. We are on the 4th day. Thank you for making a difference. We really needed the change.

  37. Maureen Kirkpatrick says:

This blender would be so perfect for my morning smoothie.

  38. Jamie L says:

I’d love to have a more convenient way of making individual serving sized smoothies for the more hard core healthy smoothies that not every one appreciates in my family. EX: I don’t mess around when adding ginger to my green smoothies. I love getting a big dose of the healthy, stronger tasting ingredients but it’s too much for my kid’s young tastebuds! My large vita-mix is great for making larger smoothie servings but it’s be so nice to have a smaller but powerful blender to make those individualized green smoothies!
