This Chocolate Covered Cherry Green Smoothie will fool your tastebuds into thinking you’re sipping something far more decadent than a healthy smoothie!
Chocolate Covered Cherry Green Smoothie

We are big believers in creating smoothies that aren’t just healthy, but also taste amazing. This is one of those smoothies that is extra delicious. Cacao powder not only adds amazing chocolate flavor, it also adds antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals.

Cherries are one of our favorite ingredients, especially when they are in season. But during the rest of the year, we love blending up frozen cherries. Tart cherries can help muscles recover after working out. They are also full of dietary fiber, vitamin A, potassium, and even a little bit of calcium.

The nutrients in cherries can help support muscle, heart, kidney, and nerve cell functions. And get this – cherries contain melatonin. That means sipping this smoothie can help your body if you’re suffering from jetlag.

What can’t cherries do?!

Bonus points for this cherry green smoothie tasting like a milkshake in disguise!

Description

This antioxidant-packed green smoothie is a healthy indulgence that will satisfy any sweet tooth.


Scale

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 2 cups almond milk (unsweetened)
  • 2 cups cherries (pitted)
  • 2 bananas
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 3 tbs cacao powder

Instructions

  1. Blend spinach and almond milk until smooth.
  2. Next add the remaining fruits and blend again.

Notes

*Use frozen fruit to make smoothie cold.

    This seems yum but I can’t have dark greens at the moment!
    Need a break from my delicious green smoothies.
    I did rotate them but maybe not as often as I should have?!
    Could I just skip the spinich?

    I was wondering what you think about strawberries instead of cherries? Cherries are out if season and hard to find even frozen!

    This is my absolute favorite!!! I add 2 Tbsp of chocolate plant protein when I use as a meal replacement and I also add maca and cayenne. One time I ran out of bananas and added an avocado (delicious). Love this recipe. Thanks so much!

    Can’t find cacao? No worries. Swap in unsweetened cocoa powder it makes the perfect substitute!

    Definitely! Some great options are mangos, papaya, pears, unsweetened applesauce, nut butters, chia seeds, fresh dates + avocado (won’t add sweetness, but the creaminess we love).

    I had weight loss surgery 2.7 years ago. Here lately I have gotten in to smoothies to keep me balanced out better for lunch. This one..omg it is so yummy. Yes the cinnamon might taste a bit strong BUT it also is a natural blood sugar regulator.
