startsoctober

We challenge you to drink one green smoothie a day… for 30 days.

All it takes is a blender, your favorite fruits, some dark leafy green veggies and 10 minutes in the kitchen daily. It’s hands down the healthiest fast food!

Two cups of fresh spinach never tasted so good…

During the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, we’ll be sending you weekly emails with shopping lists, recipes and tips to initiate you into our Green Smoothie tribe. Not only are green smoothies super fast to make, they also taste amazing. We pinky promise.

We have a rawkin’ green smoothie tribe that is passionate about spreadin’ the green smoothie love. We hope you join us! It all starts with the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, yet it doesn’t end there. Green smoothies are a lifestyle habit that usually continues way beyond 30 days.

During the challenge, you should still eat regular meals and move your body. Heck, you can even still drink soda, eat ice cream and maybe even a bag of chips (we aren’t here to judge). Yet by the end of the 30 days, we have a feeling you aren’t gonna want all those things as much as you used to (and we’ll celebrate with you!).

Your body’s gonna be transformed from the inside out!

Get ready to crave real foods with natural vitamins and minerals that’ll truly nourish you.

“I went into it thinking I’d try it every now and then, but you guys made it super easy. I kept to it every single day. I’ve replaced lunch with a smoothie, and I don’t feel ravenous. I’ve lost the ten pounds I’ve been waiting to lose before baby #2!”

— Sylia Abadi

“The best part was seeing my kids beg for my smoothies. My oldest son, who is 3 1/2, has Down syndrome and he is one picky eater. But he loved these! I’m looking forward to keeping with the habit and sharing with my kids.”

The idea of drinking spinach was a turn off at first. I’ve tried several diets and get bored easily. Since starting the Challenge I’ve lost 10 pounds! I’m sleeping a lot better, have more energy, and make better choices when it comes to my other meals throughout the day!

Music from musicals is normally easy to sing along.
They can play some parts (usually the main, beginning part to the song) but not much more than that.

The good thing is there are several simple steps that will make your long awaited karaoke nights stress-free.

I would love to try this but will i need a fancy blender? And im nursing my little one who gets the worst gas when i eat raw veggies :( any suggestions?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie 9.22.2014 at 10:42 am #

      Hey RH.

Thanks for the comment. No need for a fancy blender. :) Some use $20 blenders from Target or an expensive Vitamix or Blendtec blenders. :)

Jen: For the past few years I have been using a Warner blender that I got for my wedding 8 years ago. It was a $70 blender that worked okay. It turned my produce into a smoothie, yet it left chunks of spinach and was very loud. It finally died and I immediately went online and bought a refurbished Vitamix 5200 for $329. It came within a week and blends like a beast — no spinach leaf is left unblended when this bad boy is done. It’s insane.

Jadah: I first started with my Magic Bullet (until I burned the motor out). Then I borrowed my in-laws Thermomix until I could get my hands on a high-speed blender. The Blendtec blender is my baby now. I just love the Blendtec’s sleek design, and the 94oz BPA-free jug is awesome when you are making big batches for your family or prepping for a detox cleanse.

Every mom and baby nursing experience is different, some babies are more sensitive to certain food items. You know your body and baby best, consult with a healthcare professional or a lactation consultant to find the perfect green smoothie for you. :)

I’m so excited for this challenge! Will the printable recipe cards be available for this challenge as well? They were great to have the first time around.

Hey Liz! Yes indeed, all new recipe cards! Thanks for the support! :)

  6. mailoha 9.16.2014 at 7:29 am #

Is it bad to have fruit after a certain time (after dinner, etc.)?

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie 9.16.2014 at 2:27 pm #

      Hey Mailoha.

We don’t think it is ever a bad time to enjoy fruit and veggies. We do tend to consume ours in the morning or afternoon, but feel free to consume it when it works best for your schedule. :)

  7. mailoha 9.15.2014 at 6:01 pm #

When should I be drinking my smoothies? Day? Night? Someone told me once that drinking fruit at night is no good, is that true? Will my smoothies be replacing a meal (breakfast, lunch and/or dinner) or just a snack?

    Thanks!

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie 9.16.2014 at 7:07 am #

      Hey Mailoha. :)

Our smoothie recipes make about 4-5 cups (32oz – 40oz). Jadah drinks at least 2 cups (16 oz) everyday in the morning as a breakfast meal replacement. Jen drinks hers for lunch or sometimes as a mid morning snack Since green smoothies are full of fiber, they keep us both full for a while. If either of us needs afternoon pick-me-ups, we have been known to make another green smoothie later in the day instead of drinking a caffeinated beverage.

      Hope this helps.

The #1 struggle I have with eating more real foods is finding a consistent enough variety. I will eat certain foods for a while and get tired of eating the same thing over and over.

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie 9.8.2014 at 6:38 am #

Hope you join us for the Challenge, lots of variety of yummy leafy greens and fruit. :)

  11. scott 7.30.2014 at 11:29 am #

Hi! Could you please verify what a cup is! When you say one cup of spinach and one cup of strawberries and half a cup of whatever! Do you in fact mean equal amounts of spinach and strawberries and half the amount of whatever? Many thanks!

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie 7.31.2014 at 12:10 pm #

Yes, that is correct Scott. 1 cup of strawberries and 1 cup of spinach is the same measurement.

      1 cup = 250 millilitres

I’m truly enjoying the design and layout of your website.
It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me
to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create
    your theme? Excellent work!

  15. Isabel Cantu 7.24.2014 at 2:29 pm #

I am so far not liking week 2! Ugh..the flavors haven’t been our favorite and the blackberry peach cobbler was sooo seedy (of course that’s probably just the crappy result from my Ninja). We truly loved week 1 though and am hoping week 3 is good also! Other than my “rant” this smoothie thing is awesome! Lol. Thank you girls for such amazing recipes! :)

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie 7.24.2014 at 10:43 pm #

Thanks for the feedback. I will make notes of your suggestions. :)
