The 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge

We challenge you to drink one green smoothie a day… for 30 days.

All it takes is a blender, your favorite fruits, some dark leafy green veggies and 10 minutes in the kitchen daily. It’s hands down the healthiest fast food!

Two cups of fresh spinach never tasted so good…

During the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, we’ll be sending you weekly emails with shopping lists, recipes and tips to initiate you into our Green Smoothie tribe. Not only are green smoothies super fast to make, they also taste amazing. We pinky promise.

We have a rawkin’ green smoothie tribe that is passionate about spreadin’ the green smoothie love. We hope you join us! It all starts with the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, yet it doesn’t end there. Green smoothies are a lifestyle habit that usually continues way beyond 30 days.

During the challenge, you should still eat regular meals and move your body. Heck, you can even still drink soda, eat ice cream and maybe even a bag of chips (we aren’t here to judge). Yet by the end of the 30 days, we have a feeling you aren’t gonna want all those things as much as you used to (and we’ll celebrate with you!).

Your body’s gonna be transformed from the inside out!

Get ready to crave real foods with natural vitamins and minerals that’ll truly nourish you.

HERE’S WHAT SOME 30-DAY CHALLENGE RAWKSTARS HAVE TO SAY…

bobbi

“I strayed from my diet and started eating breads, pasta, and a few processed foods and not doing my juicing and smoothies. I felt tired and trashed until your challenge got me back on track! I have stuck to it and your shopping lists were the bomb.”

— Bobbi Jo

emily

“I’ve lost around 3 pounds and quite a few inches, all thanks to green smoothies. My fiancé and I used to be on the all-carbs-all-the-time plan, and now we can’t go a day without a green smoothie. Thank you for inspiring me to take this challenge!”

— Emily Shell (and Rodney)

rachel

“I’m certainly no chef, so the fact that the entire smoothie process from refrigerator to cleaning takes 10 minutes is delightful; feels like I’m getting away with something! I can feel the difference and now fit into a size smaller pants.”

— Rachel Camp

lindsay

I strayed from my diet and started eating breads, This was my first Green Smoothie Challenge (or any challenge). I’m proud to say I completed it! I officially lost six pounds. I truly believe a big part of the weight loss is thanks to the smoothies. I got the vital nutrients my body was missing.

— Lindsay Willey

krystal

“I’m on day 41 of at least one green smoothie a day. It’s been an incredible experience for me and even more importantly…. I’m almost 5 months pregnant with my 3rd son yay! I needed this more than you know. So, thank you for everything you all do.”

— Krystal Smartt

sylia

“I went into it thinking I’d try it every now and then, but you guys made it super easy. I kept to it every single day. I’ve replaced lunch with a smoothie, and I don’t feel ravenous. I’ve lost the ten pounds I’ve been waiting to lose before baby #2!”

— Sylia Abadi

tara

“The best part was seeing my kids beg for my smoothies. My oldest son, who is 3 1/2, has Down syndrome and he is one picky eater. But he loved these! I’m looking forward to keeping with the habit and sharing with my kids.”

— Tara Cherry

saly

“This challenge has changed my life forever. I feel more energy, optimistic and healthy from the inside out. I’m planning on getting pregnant and wanted new healthy habits that nourish me. I’m more aware of what I eat and what is good for my body.”

The idea of drinking spinach was a turn off at first. I’ve tried several diets and get bored easily. Since starting the Challenge I’ve lost 10 pounds! I’m sleeping a lot better, have more energy, and make better choices when it comes to my other meals throughout the day!

Ahh! I just love that I stumbled upon this site today looking for green smoothie recipes!!! But hate that I missed the beginning :( Do users have to wait for the next challenge in order to get previous weeks recipes? Either way Im down and cant wait! I read about using a frozen fruit for a good texture however, when freezing spinach or kale are there any special instructions after like thawing or are they good to go right in the blender with water?

    Thanks in advance guys!

  9. Clairese 7.16.2015 at 4:46 pm #

Hello. I just wanted to clarify something. We are suppose to drink one green smoothie a day but each recipe makes two servings, correct?? Also is it supposed to be just Monday thru Friday we drink them?

    • SGS Rawkstar 7.17.2015 at 8:40 am #

      Hi Clairese,

Great questions! Yes, each recipe makes two servings, the second serving is perfect for enjoying later in the day, sharing with a friend, or saving for another day (green smoothies will keep in your fridge for up to 2 days). I love to use my first smoothie as a healthy breakfast meal replacement (I add healthy fats + protein to ensure I’m getting a complete meal), and then hold on to the second serving as a quick healthy snack option later in the day. If you know you won’t enjoy the second serving, then cut the recipe in half!

We share five recipes each week, and use our weekends as “free days”. It’s perfect for finishing any remaining ingredients or re-blending your favorite recipes from that week.

Hope this help answer your questions!

      Cheers,
      Amanda, SGS Rawkstar

      • Clairese 7.18.2015 at 6:57 am #

  11. Aja 7.13.2015 at 7:08 am #

    Hello!

I’ve been participating in the 30 day challenge and it had been great. One question I have- am I missing any benefits if I occasionally just eat the smoothie ingredients instead of blending them into a smoothie? Sometimes I find myself wanting to taste the actual textures of the fruits and vegetables rather than having them all blended up. Over the weekend, since I have more time in the morning, I just took all of the ingredients I would have used for my smoothie and ate them as a big salad. Just wondering if there is something I’m missing by not blending them first.

    • SGS Rawkstar 7.13.2015 at 9:58 pm #

      Hi Aja,

Thanks for reaching out! We love blendin’ our leafy greens, but if you enjoy our recipes as a salad, cheers to you! You’re still getting all of the benefits of enjoying fresh fruits + leafy greens!

  12. brian wheatley 7.13.2015 at 4:11 am #

Amanda, maybe you can help please, recently had kidney removal, require replacement “green vegs, to spinach, as potassium content is high, and I need LOW, potassium ingredients, I have purchased your book, so Im pretty keen, hoping to hear from you at your earliest convience, if you can assist, thanks a lot,

    • SGS Rawkstar 7.13.2015 at 9:56 pm #

      Hi Brian,

Thanks for reaching out! We hope you’re recovering + feeling better following your kidney removal! We’re green smoothie lovin’ rawkstars all right, but we’re not doctors or nutritionists – we suggest you talk with your doctor about any health concerns, if they suggest any specific fruits or leafy greens to add to your diet, we are more than happy to help point out the best recipes for your health + well being!

Sending you plenty of healing vibes!

  13. Vic 7.12.2015 at 12:13 am #

Can you freeze leafy greens and if so, do you wilt them first so they take up less room in the freezer?
Also what fruits can you freeze other than berries?
    Thanks

    • SGS Rawkstar 7.13.2015 at 9:53 pm #

      Hi Vic,

Great question! We love freezing our leafy greens, it’s a great way to stock up when our favorites are in season, or even better…on sale! Freezing fruits + leafy greens are perfect when their fresh (try any fruit, we haven’t met a fruit we can’t freeze!) To freeze fresh fruits, lay the cut fruits on a parchment lined baking sheet, once frozen, transfer them to an airtight container in the freezer! Check out our tips on freezing leafy greens here…

  14. Natalie 7.9.2015 at 10:53 am #

I’m enjoying all of the recipes I’ve tried so far. I haven’t been following the set ones from the email but just picking different ones on your recipe tab. This morning was tropical skin cleanser. I did add a tiny bit of pure stevia to it (do that on occasion if not sweet enough for me). Very good! I wish my red ones (raspberry coconut shortcake, red velvet) came out looking a pretty red like your pictures instead of a greenish brown, LOL! Still very good! Tomorrow I will try cilantro-mango detox, sounds delicious!

    • SGS Rawkstar 7.9.2015 at 5:54 pm #

      Hi Natalie,

Thanks for blendin’ with us! If you find yourself reaching for stevia to sweeten your smoothies, give one of our natural sweeteners a try!

      Cheers!

      • Natalie 7.15.2015 at 10:56 am #

Thanks! I’m working on changing my taste buds a bit. Three days with no added sweetener. So far so good. Enjoying the mango recipes. Cilantro-mango and the tropical tumeric cleanser were great.

  21. Judy 7.5.2015 at 8:29 am #

    Hi
Can you make two smoothies in the morning before you leave the house. One is for breakfast and the other for lunch. Once I get to work do I put it in the refrig or freezer. I need help please.

    • SGS Rawkstar 7.5.2015 at 9:46 am #

      Hi Judy,

Thanks for reaching out! Our Simple Green Smoothies will keep in the fridge for up to two days in an airtight container, so it’s perfect to save your second serving for a quick lunch option! Looking to use your green smoothie as a meal replacement, check out our meal replacement boosters of protein + healthy fats, to ensure you’re getting a complete meal. Planning on storing your smoothie longer than lunch, we suggest adding a little bit of lemon juice to help preserve their green goodness! Also, separation is natural, so give your smoothie a quick shake before enjoying!

      Cheers :)

  23. Michele spooner 7.3.2015 at 3:48 pm #

    Hello,

I’m wondering with these daily green smoothies , is there also a eating plan to go with it?

    Michele
    I might of missed it

    • SGS Rawkstar 7.3.2015 at 7:46 pm #

      Hi Michele,

Great question! This is not a fast or a restrictive diet, so you can eat regular meals during this challenge. We are making healthy lifestyle changes that will last a lifetime! Our goal for your is to drink at least one 2-cup serving green smoothie a day in addition to your regular diet. If you would like, you can replace 1 or 2 meals with green smoothies. If you drink green smoothies as meal replacements, make sure to add a protein boost (plant-based protein powder, nut milk, nut butter), or snack on some nuts or a hard-boiled egg 30-60 minutes after you drink your green smoothie.

      http://simplegreensmoothies.com/tips/protein
      http://simplegreensmoothies.com/tips/green-smoothie-meal-replacement

Just by drinking green smoothies daily without even changing your regular diet, you are moving in the right direction towards healthy eating. We are not meal plan experts, but we suggest you eat real food that’s free of processed sugar and avoid ingredients that you can’t pronounce. My personal meal plan during the green smoothie diet will be paleo-inspired with lots of veggies and some seafood.

      Cheers,
      Amanda, SGS Rawkstar
