      Hi Boney,

      Breastfeeding and green smoothies is totally beneficial. Just avoid the starchy veggies because that could cause gas for you and your little one (carrots, sweet potato, broccoli), etc. Also try not to eat anything 30 minutes before or after your green smoothie to allow the fruits to digest in your body quickly.

    Hi, I’d like to join the Next 30 challenge but I’m skeptical….I hate green food but I need to start eating healthier, I’d also like to lose some weight since I’d like to be pregnant soon and I’m about 15lbs over weight, sigh!

    The thing is I live in Trinidad, West Indies, I’m worried I may not find some of the

    ingredients in supermarkets here or if I do I’m wondering how expensive it’s be, sigh!

    Hello! I’m also doing the July challenge this month as we were traveling a lot in July and I’m new at this!
    I’m on day 5 now and each day that I’ve made a smoothie I’ve experienced a lot of bloating, gas, and discomfort starting about 30 minutes after I drink my smoothie. After the first couple of days I thought the spinach I was using may have been bad. However, I bought new spinach (from a different store) but these symptoms continue to plague me. Just wondering if this is a common side-effect. I often eat spinach, veggies and fruit throughout my day so it’s not like these foods are new to me. Do you have any suggestions on how to combat these symptoms? Maybe there’s an ingredient I could add? A supplement I could take along side it? Change up the time I drink my smoothie (I’ve been drinking it at about 4/5pm after I work out)? Any suggestions you have would be wonderful. I really want to finish the challenge!

      Hi Annie,

      Thanks for reaching out. This can be a common symptom if your body is not used to drinking or eating lots of fiber. Green smoothies are high in fiber which is great for digestion, but for those new to green smoothies, the high fiber can shock your body. Make sure you drink lots of water to help flush everything out, and stick to one serving a day (2 cups/16 oz) to start. Sometimes when you make sudden changes in your regular diet, or you add more fiber into your diet, your body needs time to adjust. Every body reacts to food differently. If your discomfort doesn’t subside, you may have some personal allergies to certain fruit combinations, that is something you would have to consult with a healthcare provider about. Also, make sure you don’t eat any other foods 30-60 minutes before after you drink your green smoothies to give your body time to digest the fruits.

    I’m doing the 30 day challenge from July in August (I joined late!). I’m seeing 3 recipes for week 1. Am I supposed to repeat recipes? Only do 3 smoothies for week 1 or what? I don’t see any direction on how to do the challenge.
