During the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, we’ll be sending you weekly emails with shopping lists, recipes and tips to initiate you into our Green Smoothie tribe. Not only are green smoothies super fast to make, they also taste amazing. We pinky promise.

We have a rawkin’ green smoothie tribe that is passionate about spreadin’ the green smoothie love. We hope you join us! It all starts with the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, yet it doesn’t end there. Green smoothies are a lifestyle habit that usually continues way beyond 30 days.



During the challenge, you should still eat regular meals and move your body. Heck, you can even still drink soda, eat ice cream and maybe even a bag of chips (we aren’t here to judge). Yet by the end of the 30 days, we have a feeling you aren’t gonna want all those things as much as you used to (and we’ll celebrate with you!).

    Hi, I am super excited to try out the upcoming April 30 day challenge. I love the way you guys are helping people loose weight :).
    I have tried a few of your green smoothies, really like them :D.
    I have just one concern, I keep reading about greens like Spinach etc having the tendency to lead to kidney stones. I have seen it in my family too:(, how should I go about the greens to stay safe.
    I really need to loose 15 pounds and keep them off forever. I love the green smoothies. Am not sure how to minimize the risk of stones. Please help.

    Hello, I found your website after the last smoothie challenge was already over. I was so disappointed to miss it but I did start trying green smoothies. I enjoy them a lot. I tend to drink the same concoctions but looking forward to your challenge to ‘step outside of the box.’ I got a head start on that today… I tried a mango/pineapple/strawberry and spinach/kale mix today and it was delish. Looking forward to Wednesday!

      Hey Jolene,

      Thanks for reaching out. We personally don’t count calories, so we don’t include them in our recipes at this time. You’ll find that when you consume more nourishing whole fruits and veggies, you will not only feel full longer, but you’ll also have lessened cravings for high-calorie, nutritionally empty foods. So in the end it balances out. But we know many people would like to have calorie info. Three great resources for tracking calories are Self Nutrition Data and the phone apps My Fitness Pal and Lose It.

    First off, thank you for your website. I started drinking green smoothies after getting your 30 day challenge at the end of December 2014 and I have lost about 31 pounds so far. The great thing about it is I love the smoothies and have continued drinking them since. A question I had was how long will a smoothie stay fresh and retain vitamins after it is blended? I have read various articles/websites that have stated that blended fruit needs to be consumed within as little as 15 minutes to two days. I’m looking forward to picking your new recipe book when it is available. Thanks again for your website, it’s a great resource for me.

      Hey Chuck,

      Some people say you have to drink it “right away” to get the optimal nutrients from each blend. But if left in the fridge over-night for one to three days, the taste and satisfaction is still there. You also may add a small amount of lemon juice to preserve and keep the smoothie blend as fresh as possible. Your body is still reaping the benefits of consuming fruits and vegetables even if it is not consumed right away.

    My daughter (age 13) signed the two of us up, printed the shopping list, and volunteered to accompany me to the grocery store for greens and fruit. She also claims she’ll set her alarm to rise a few minutes early to make her own smoothie before school in the weeks ahead. No momma in her right mind would discourage this level of commitment. We’re ready, and excited!

    I am looking forward to this upcoming month of green smoothies! I have seen you mention freezing leftover fresh ingredients several times. What about starting with store bought frozen leafy greens & fruits? I thought it would be good to have frozen ingredients on hand as a back up in case I run out of something fresh.

      Hi Michele,

      We love to use frozen fruit to ensure our smoothies are chilled and delicious right after blendin’! I’m a little hesitant on frozen leafy greens, as sometimes they don’t make the tastiest smoothies. Freezing fresh leafy greens yourself is a great way to keep your greens fresh for months and your wallet happy! You just need to rinse them, pat them dry, and place them in an air tight bag in the freezer.

      Hi Demi,

      Our goal for your is to drink at least one 2-cup serving green smoothie a day in addition to your regular diet. If you would like, you can replace 1 or 2 meals with green smoothies. If you drink green smoothies as meal replacements, make sure to add a protein boost (plant-based protein powder, nut milk, nut butter), or snack on some nuts or a hard-boiled egg 30-60 minutes after you drink your green smoothie.

      I like to have a green smoothie in the morning with added protein as my breakfast, and then have one after lunch as an afternoon snack. If you’re new to the green smoothie lifestyle, we suggest you start with one smoothie a day, so your tummy isn’t shocked by the fiber you’re adding to your diet.

    So I signed up for the 30 day challenge and I have my own beginners luck recipe :) tastes just like an iced chai tea from MegaBucks (Star).

    1 Orange
    1 Cup Green Cabbage
    1 Serving Vanilla Almond Milk
    1 Serving of Whey Protein Powder
    A dash or three of Tumeric
    A dash or three of Cinamon

    Soooooo yummy…….but I don’t know the benefits of each ingredient except Tumeric (anti-inflamatory)

    hi! i’m loving all the green smoothies, but i’m finding kale to taste so bitter and just kind of bad. i find the flavour very overwhelming, and i don’t think i can have it anymore… probably doesn’t help that i’m pregnant and the flavour turns me off. anyways, is it fine to continue with just spinach every day? seems boring! i’ve also mostly been using water b/c i find almond milk very overpowering as well. is there another suggestion? would coconut water be good?

    I have tried these over the years and I get frustrated because I am single and most recipes in these challenges make you shop for lots of ingredients that you do not effectively use throughout the week. 1/4 mango on Monday and what do you do with the rest of the mango as it is not used throughout the rest of the month? One stalk of celery on Tuesday (you can’t just by one stalk of celery). Lots of waste as I can’t freeze everything I don’t use and hope for the best.
    I need a plan that effectively uses ingredients and recipes that make one serving. Is that the case with this challenge?

      oops press the send button before I was even done. you can freeze just about anything with vegetables or fruits. You can always cut into chunks put into the freezer or blend your fruits and vegetables together or separately and pour into ice trays and freeze for later use. Or you can freeze high water content vegetables between paper towels and place in plastic baggies taking out as much air as possible and freeze for later use. they may not be as crisp when thawed out but would work great for cooking or for your smoothies just like freezing homemade baby food for later use. Hope this helps in some way!

      We hate to see good fruit, veggies, and greens go to waste! That’s why we love to prep smoothies and then freeze them to enjoy later. It’s a great way to make smoothie prep quick + easy, and to make sure nothing goes to waste. It’s also a great way to return to your favorite smoothies we made earlier in the challenge!

    Hey…Im trying to loose 10 pounds ,..most of my weight is around tummy and Muffin tops area.
    Will 30 days green smoothie challenge will help me lose weight? I really do not want to go on diet as u face become darker and u loose all glow from your face..

    I really hoping green smoothies will make me look healthier and help me loose weight :)

      This is not a fast or a restrictive diet, so you can eat regular meals during this challenge. We are making healthy lifestyle changes that will last a lifetime!       Our co-founder Jadah lost 20+ lbs by drinking 1 green smoothie a day (16oz) + her normal lunch and dinner. Results may vary, depending on how active you are. But the leafy greens and fresh fruit are awesome fuel for your body.

    Day one of the Smoothie Challenge was a success thanks to your making it so easy to get the big picture of how to make a green smoothie both me and my husband (Mr. Picky, especially about vegetable flavors) could enjoy together.

    However when I want to do an additional smoothie for myself, I need to be very low-carb with fewer or even no fruits and am looking for non-sweet smoothie recipes. I love gazpacho for instance and vegetable juices, so I imagine for people who don’t dislike vegetable tastes that doing non-fruit or low-fruit smoothies could be a good option. I’d like to find ones where I could add herb and other greens like fresh parsley and basil. Do you have a category for those–couldn’t find on the site.

    Thanks for such an excellent program to jump-start my health and weigh loss efforts with my new Ninja.

      Hey Donna,

      Thanks for the message. So glad you are joining us for the 30-Day Challenge! :) Our smoothie recipes make about 4-5 cups (32oz – 40oz). Jadah drinks at least 2 cups (16 oz) everyday in the morning as a breakfast meal replacement. Jen drinks hers for lunch or sometimes as a mid morning snack Since green smoothies are full of fiber, they keep us both full for a while. Each smoothie has 3 cups of fruit in it, and it is recommended that an adult has 1.5 to 2 cups of fruit a day. When you drink 16oz of our green smoothie recipe you will be meeting, or just under your daily intake for fruit. If you feel like that is too much fruit, feel free to do 2 cups of fruit in each smoothie with 3 cups of leafy greens. Hope that helps. :)
