The 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge

startsoctober

We challenge you to drink one green smoothie a day… for 30 days.

All it takes is a blender, your favorite fruits, some dark leafy green veggies and 10 minutes in the kitchen daily. It’s hands down the healthiest fast food!

Two cups of fresh spinach never tasted so good…

During the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, we’ll be sending you weekly emails with shopping lists, recipes and tips to initiate you into our Green Smoothie tribe. Not only are green smoothies super fast to make, they also taste amazing. We pinky promise.

We have a rawkin’ green smoothie tribe that is passionate about spreadin’ the green smoothie love. We hope you join us! It all starts with the 30-Day Green Smoothie Challenge, yet it doesn’t end there. Green smoothies are a lifestyle habit that usually continues way beyond 30 days.

During the challenge, you should still eat regular meals and move your body. Heck, you can even still drink soda, eat ice cream and maybe even a bag of chips (we aren’t here to judge). Yet by the end of the 30 days, we have a feeling you aren’t gonna want all those things as much as you used to (and we’ll celebrate with you!).

Your body’s gonna be transformed from the inside out!

Get ready to crave real foods with natural vitamins and minerals that’ll truly nourish you.

“I strayed from my diet and started eating breads, pasta, and a few processed foods and not doing my juicing and smoothies. I felt tired and trashed until your challenge got me back on track! I have stuck to it and your shopping lists were the bomb.”

— Bobbi Jo

emily

“I’ve lost around 3 pounds and quite a few inches, all thanks to green smoothies. My fiancé and I used to be on the all-carbs-all-the-time plan, and now we can’t go a day without a green smoothie. Thank you for inspiring me to take this challenge!”

— Emily Shell (and Rodney)

rachel

“I’m certainly no chef, so the fact that the entire smoothie process from refrigerator to cleaning takes 10 minutes is delightful; feels like I’m getting away with something! I can feel the difference and now fit into a size smaller pants.”

— Rachel Camp

I strayed from my diet and started eating breads, This was my first Green Smoothie Challenge (or any challenge). I’m proud to say I completed it! I officially lost six pounds. I truly believe a big part of the weight loss is thanks to the smoothies. I got the vital nutrients my body was missing.

“I went into it thinking I’d try it every now and then, but you guys made it super easy. I kept to it every single day. I’ve replaced lunch with a smoothie, and I don’t feel ravenous. I’ve lost the ten pounds I’ve been waiting to lose before baby #2!”

— Sylia Abadi

“The best part was seeing my kids beg for my smoothies. My oldest son, who is 3 1/2, has Down syndrome and he is one picky eater. But he loved these! I’m looking forward to keeping with the habit and sharing with my kids.”

— Tara Cherry

The idea of drinking spinach was a turn off at first. I’ve tried several diets and get bored easily. Since starting the Challenge I’ve lost 10 pounds! I’m sleeping a lot better, have more energy, and make better choices when it comes to my other meals throughout the day!

Hi i want to know, what size should be an ideal cup sizze ?? also wondering will we get enough protein content if we strictly follow the 21 days meal recipes. Thank you !

    • SGS Rawkstar Jessie 10.24.2014 at 7:56 am #

      Good morning Sri.

      1 cup is 8 ounces. :)

Protein comes in many forms, not just from meat. You can get protein from great plant-based sources too— like nuts, seeds, fruits, vegetables, grains, and legumes. Nuts, seeds, and legumes have particularly high levels. There’s also a myth about how much protein most people actually need. According to Dr. T. Colin Campbell, the author of China Study, 8 to 10 percent of your calories should come from protein. If you’re an athlete that can increase to 10 to 15 percent to support tissue repair. For example, if you need to eat 2,000 calories in a day, you’d want about 200 calories to come from a protein source. The amount of protein required for each person is not the same, and varies depending on one’s weight, age, activity level, health, and loads of other variables. The recommended protein intake is therefore quite controversial, as it really needs to be individually assessed by a certified nutritionist for an accurate result.

This cleanse is a balanced, whole foods program that’s designed to detoxify your body, but not deprive or starve you. That’s why we include ingredients like lentils (18 grams of protein per cup), black beans (15 grams per cup), chickpeas (12 grams per cup), quinoa (9 grams per cup), almonds/almond butter (8 grams per 1/4 cup/7 grams per 2 tablespoons). We made sure to include enough protein in every meal and snack throughout the meal plan (this helps keep your junk-food cravings at bay, too).

      Hope that helps. :)
