I usually drink a whey protein smoothie after my workout, can I replace it with a green smoothie? If so, should I add Whey protein to it?

  2. Victoria 8.13.2013 at 12:05 pm #

Hello – when will you be doing your next 30 Day Challenge?

  3. Sara 8.5.2013 at 10:38 am #

Thanks so much for all the tasty recipes! We had so much fun with this, the kids loved it too. Actually, my son had so much fun picking fresh greens off our tower every day, he couldn’t wait for me to get blending! Also, I just saw that you ladies are down the road from us in Brooksville. Hello from Clermont :)

    • Jadah and Jen 8.5.2013 at 1:27 pm #

Hi Sara! Jen is from Brooksville :-) So glad to hear that you loved this challenge!

  4. Faye 7.29.2013 at 11:27 am #

I enjoy making your recipe’s every morning, and love it. So a BIG thanks for that. I makes me feel great and full of energy, but have not lost any weight at all. I know that is not the goal, but was hoping that I would. Am I doing something wrong? I must admit, sometimes I add a teaspoon of almond or peanut butter to my smoothie. Could that be the reason?

Also, I did not receive an e-mail for challenge #4. Did you send it?
    With Many Thanks

    • Jadah and Jen 7.29.2013 at 12:06 pm #

      Hi Faye!
Send us an email so we can get week four to you :-) Weight loss is tricky and different for each person. Have you replaced anything in your eating habits with green smoothies or have you just added them to your diet? If you add them without substituting then you may not lose weight…

      • Faye 7.29.2013 at 2:45 pm #

        Jadah and Jen,

Thank you for your fast reply. I did replace my breakfast, (oat meal) with green smoothie. I think my metabolism is just dead :)

How do I send you my e-mail without giving it to the whole world? I will reply to your last e-mail and hopefully that would work.

        Thanks Again,

      • Jadah and Jen 7.30.2013 at 1:42 pm #

If you go to the contact tab at the top of our page you can write us a message and it will go to our email :-)

  5. Maria 7.28.2013 at 4:32 am #

First – thanks so much for putting this together! Cannot wait to start. Recipes look amazing.

    Two quick questions:

While I know weight loss should not be the primary goal of this – was just wondering about average pounds lost for people that have already done this?

    Also –

Can we substitute parsley for cilantro? :0)

    Thanks so much!!!

    • Maria 7.28.2013 at 4:34 am #

oh no i’m so sorry! meant this for the 21 day cleanse :)

  6. Pippa Buxton 7.25.2013 at 9:07 pm #

I just stumbled on this now, how fun! Would have been ace to have some new ideas. I am pretty fixed on my current ‘recipe’ which is a daily do for me. Would love you to check it out!

  7. Jocelyn 7.21.2013 at 12:49 pm #

I have to admit this has really helped me with my eating and some of the smoothies have little impact on my blood sugar. I tried the home made deodorant and I kept breaking out in a rash, I even removed the grapefruit extract and it still made me break out in a rash usually after the third day. I hate that it did because it works awesome, I live in Arizona and I did not smell at all in fact I had an earthy smell. Now I am back to my clinical strength deodorant and even at the end of the day I can smell a little funk. I was hoping you guys could compile more diabetic friendly smoothies for the next run.

    • Jadah and Jen 7.22.2013 at 7:08 am #

      Hi Jocelyn!
We try our best to make smoothies enjoyable for everyone, which is pretty difficult. This fourth week is supposed to be more diabetic-friendly because berries are some of the best fruits you can eat. I hope we can continue to help you!

  8. jenelle 7.18.2013 at 3:17 pm #

Hi! I just wanted to know when a recipe calls for coconut milk is it the coconut milk found in the dairy section or the coconut milk from a can? Or is it the same?

Ps me and my hubby LOVE green smothies!! We have one everyday for breakfast.

  9. Kelly 7.11.2013 at 2:28 pm #

Hi I signed up today and was wondering whether i could catch up on the emails missed? I have received nothing through on my email other than the one to confirm my email. Looking forward to starting the challenge!

    • Jadah and Jen 7.15.2013 at 9:30 am #

You should receive an email with links to all the emails so far. If you haven’t, then shoot us an email :-)

      • Kelly 7.17.2013 at 4:39 am #

Sorry no email received, please could you re-send it? Kind regards. Kelly

      • Jadah and Jen 7.18.2013 at 3:15 pm #

Kelly, we don’t have your email on file. We need you to send us an email at simplegreensmoothies(at)gmail(dot)com in order for us to help you out.

  10. Nadya 7.11.2013 at 7:14 am #

I accidentally erased the 3 rd week’s email with the shopping list and recipes. Is there a way to get the email sent to me again?

  11. Danielle 7.10.2013 at 1:50 pm #

I just joined today. Is there any chance you are still willing to send out some smoothie recipes?

    • Jadah and Jen 7.11.2013 at 11:28 am #

You should receive an email in less than an hour (check your spam) with links to the shopping lists :-) If not, then send us an email!

  12. Sandra 7.6.2013 at 2:10 pm #

I just joined as well. Can I get the list of recipes for this week? I’m excited for a challenge!

    • Jen H 7.6.2013 at 10:59 pm #

Hi Sandra— I can see you signed up and the first email was sent to you. It’s probably in your SPAM folder— so make sure to add our email to your list to help it avoid the spam filter in the future. You can also view the shopping list here:

      • Sandra 7.6.2013 at 11:59 pm #

Got them thank you so much! Starting this week. I got my sister to join with me so week 1 will start for us this Monday. Love the recipes.

  13. keisha 7.5.2013 at 7:34 am #

for the smoothies that have lime and oranges, are we supposed to use the fruit or juice from the fruit? also, i haven’t received the list for this coming week?

    • Jen H 7.6.2013 at 10:29 pm #

Hi Keisha— for limes we recommend just using the juice so it isn’t so tart. Yet for oranges, just peel them and throw the whole thing in. I looked into why you haven’t received the shopping list and it’s because you aren’t signed up for the challenge— you might not have confirmed your email address. I just added you to it so please confirm from there. You should then receive our weekly lists. If anyone else is reading this and haven’t gotten the shopping list, sign up here (scroll down the page to sign up): SIGN UP!

  17. Ellen 7.3.2013 at 9:21 am #

It’s difficult to find some almond milk here in Thailand. Can I replace it with low fat milk or soy milk?

    • Jadah and Jen 7.5.2013 at 6:52 am #

Whatever you find to be a suitable replacement :-)

    • Renae 7.8.2013 at 6:13 am #

My friend was so happy to find almond milk recently in Thailand at Villa Market. Hope this helps!

  18. Michelle 7.3.2013 at 6:32 am #

I signed up yesterday. Late, I know! :) Will I still get the shopping list and recipes emailed to me?

    • Jadah and Jen 7.3.2013 at 8:51 am #

Email is if you still haven’t received an email with a link to the shopping list and recipes :-)

  19. Cristina 7.2.2013 at 9:10 pm #

I’m always looking for a way to add protein to my diet, since I don’t eat meat. Is adding chia seeds to the smoothies a good idea? Any other suggestions?

  20. Chelly 7.2.2013 at 2:51 pm #

I made the Citrus Breeze smoothie this morning. Deelish! I suppose we should be sipping the smoothies throughout the day. My first serving didn’t make it past the first hour. My other servings are safe at home (for now).

  21. Debbie 7.2.2013 at 7:17 am #

After visiting your website for the first time a few months ago I’ve added spinach and kale as a staple to my smoothies. What a great taste. Thanks much.

  22. Kristin 7.1.2013 at 6:08 pm #

When you say one green smoothie a day, how many ounces are you considering one smoothie? I know some of the recipes make more than one serving!

  23. Katy 7.1.2013 at 10:58 am #

You mentioned in an email I could replace the guava and papaya (papaya at my store is $6/ea- ouch!!!- and thats not organic) with other tropical fruits. About how much pineapple/mango would I use?

  24. Emil 7.1.2013 at 5:52 am #

Living in Minnesota, it’s hard to find guava. Is there a fruit I can use to replace it?

  25. Brittany 6.30.2013 at 1:17 pm #

See I just use what I have in my house..and kinda make up my own… I know that this week I am running a bit low..but I am just gonna see what I have..and use what I got

I am wondering the same thing, Julieth.

    • Jadah and Jen 7.3.2013 at 8:47 am #

Send us an email if you still haven’t received your list :-)

  30. Julie 6.28.2013 at 2:25 pm #

I started early! Started one smoothie a day in Feb, got my vitamix a few weeks ago, and started a two a day regime (my challenge) yesterday! Thanks for helping to motivate. I have been finding myself a little hungry, so I am adding nuts and yogurt for snacks and pretty much been eating lunch. This morning I made coffee and a smoothie at the same time. I ended up dumping the coffee, the smoothie was so much more appealing. Maybe I’ll quit coffee too :)
TIP: I found some double walled stainless steel bottles that are airtight and have pop up straws, they keep my smoothie cold for several hours so I can take them to work – you need a pipe cleaner to wash them.

  31. Sue 6.28.2013 at 7:20 am #

Hi, i didn’t receive my list as to what to buy for the 30 day challenge.

    • Jadah and Jen 6.28.2013 at 8:30 am #

Hi Sue! Email us at simplegreensmoothies(at)gmail(dot)com :-)

  32. Rene 6.28.2013 at 4:17 am #

    I am in!

  33. Jennifer 6.28.2013 at 1:54 am #

I am signed up for the smoothie challenge and have also bought a Vitamix this week so I am very excited! I am wondering for the challenge are we supposed to substitute a meal, Ie breakfast, with the smoothie? Or use the smoothie for in between meals?

  34. Vam 6.27.2013 at 1:20 pm #

Hello, Can I use Flax seed oil instead of coconut oil?

  35. Kim 6.27.2013 at 8:46 am #

I just signed up for the challenge! I am excited to get started :)

  36. sherrita 6.27.2013 at 8:16 am #

I just signed up for the challege today. Will I still get the recipe email? Also does the receipes include nutrition facts?

    • Liz 6.27.2013 at 12:30 pm #

I also just signed up for the challenge. Will I get the email shopping list separately? I also didn’t see any recipes.

    • Jadah and Jen 6.28.2013 at 8:32 am #

You should have received your shopping list yesterday. If you didn’t then email us at simplegreensmoothies(at)gmail(dot)com. And we don’t include nutritional facts but lots of people love using “Lose It” or “My Fitness Pal”–website or app.

  37. Lee 6.27.2013 at 7:22 am #

Hi…Just got my shopping list for the challenge…. Can’t wait.. Question: When you say LIME, PEELED…Does this mean I am throwing away the peel or putting it into the smoothie separately?? When do you know when/when not to use peels????

    • Jadah and Jen 6.28.2013 at 8:32 am #

Don’t use the peel :-) It is very bitter!

      • Lee 6.28.2013 at 2:30 pm #

Do we ever use any peels????

  38. Maritza 6.26.2013 at 6:17 am #

Hello! So the 30 day challenge is only one smoothie a day? I have a masticating juicer, will that have a similar result to a smoothie? I know it will have less fiber than the smoothie.

    • Jadah and Jen 6.26.2013 at 7:44 am #

Hi Maritza! One smoothie a day :-) At least to start with… Juicers will keep out some of the nutrients that are available in the fleshy parts of the fruit, but it will be similar. A lot of people that follow Simple Green Smoothies juice, too!

  39. Tia 6.26.2013 at 4:00 am #

I’m doing the 30 day challenge but have two trips scheduled during that time period (both require hotel stays). Any tips on maintaining the green smoothie lifestyle while traveling?

    • Jadah and Jen 6.26.2013 at 7:42 am #

Hi Tia! We recently traveled to Austin and packed our blenders in our checked luggage. When we got to the hotel we bought local produce and stored it in our fridge :-)

  40. Tolaina 6.24.2013 at 12:31 pm #

Hello Ladies, will you be posting suggestions for healthy meal planning?

    • Jadah and Jen 6.25.2013 at 11:47 am #

We will be posting information about a meal plan resource coming up here in the future :-)
