I love this almond smoothie on mornings when I want something creamy—not too cold, not too sweet, just steady and nourishing. It’s also a great breakfast smoothie if you want a dependable recipe you can come back to again and again.
This almond smoothie is one of those recipes that feels familiar in the best way. It’s lightly sweet, creamy without being heavy, and made with simple ingredients you probably already have on hand. Almond milk and raw almonds create a rich, nutty base, while banana and strawberries add natural sweetness and a hint of fruitiness. Finished with a touch of cinnamon, it’s comforting, balanced, and easy to enjoy again and again.

Ingredients You’ll Need
This recipe keeps things simple while delivering both flavor and nourishment.
- Almond milk creates a smooth, non-dairy base that lets the other ingredients shine. Check out my recommend almond milk brands or make your own almond milk.
- Raw almonds add healthy fats and a subtle nutty flavor that makes the smoothie more filling.
- Banana is a great natural sweetener and helps everything blend into a creamy texture.
- Frozen strawberries add brightness and a gentle tartness that balances the almond flavor.
- Ground cinnamon gives the smoothie a warm, cozy finish.
- Maple syrup or honey (optional) adds just a touch of extra sweetness if needed.

How to Make an Almond Smoothie
- Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth and creamy. If your blender needs help breaking down the almonds, blend a little longer or pause to scrape down the sides.
- Pour into a glass and enjoy right away.

Ingredient Variations
- Add protein: Swap in one serving of my homemade protein powder to give this smoothie more staying power. It blends in easily without changing the flavor too much.
- Change the spice: The cinnamon really takes this smoothie to the next level, but feel free to omit it if cinnamon isn’t your thing or swap in a pinch of nutmeg or vanilla instead.
- Use a different plant milk: Even though this is called an almond smoothie, there’s no judgment if you use another milk. Cashew milk or oat milk both work well and keep the smoothie creamy.
- Lower the natural sugar: If the sweetness feels like too much, replace half of the banana with ¼ cup frozen cauliflower. It keeps the texture creamy while reducing sugar. I use cauliflower in a lot of my weight loss smoothies.
- Swap the nuts or seeds: Replace the raw almonds with another nut or seed you enjoy, like walnuts, pecans, hemp hearts, or sunflower seeds.
Recipe Tips
- For extra creaminess: Soak the raw almonds in warm water for 10 minutes before blending.
- For a thicker smoothie: Use a frozen banana or add a few ice cubes.
- For a lighter option: Skip the added sweetener and let the fruit do the work.

Only if you don’t like almond milk. It’s a delicious, plant-based option that easily blends with a variety of fruits and veggies. Almond milk adds in good nutrients as well as works as a natural thickener.
They can be! If you’ve got a high-powered blender, then you can add pretty much any raw nut to a smoothie and enjoy its benefits. If your blender isn’t Vitamix-grade, then soak the nuts for four hours before blending to soften.

My son liked it but I feel like all these smoothies have been more kid like in taste. Not for me this one
Day 5 — Drank it a day late.
This one is maybe my favorite this week for now. I could drink this Almond Smoothie everyday… and so quick and easy to make.
So fun trying this one! Interesting flavors and the cinnamon works with it.
This smoothie wasn’t what I would make again…I even cut down on the cinnamon! maybe next week will be better!
Got a day behind. Had this smoothie this morning. I added collagen and one scoop of my protein powder. I only used half of banana.
Got behind a day, but I’ll catch up today. Currently enjoying the epic almond smoothie with protein powder for breakfast. Skipped the maple syrup. Could have added more almond milk since the protein powder makes it a bit too thick for my preference.
Definitely different from any smoothie I’ve had but tasty!
Good
Tasted okay but not my favorite. Like that it had almonds and was different than your typical green smoothie.
I liked this smoothie a lot. I added riced cauliflower bc I like to have vegetables in every smoothie.
This smoothie was great. I personally like smoothies to be thicker and not runny so I cut the almond milk to less than half.
This was a fabulous smoothie. The ingredients all harmonized beautifully into a flavor all its own.
The richness and thickness was smooth and creamy, and felt like real whole dairy milk to me. I have not been able to drink dairy milk for 20 years, and I’ve never found anything as satisfying in any alternative milk products. It was an amazing surprise to experience the sensation of real milk for the first time in 2 decades.
We did not add protein powder to this smoothie, and we left out the honey. We figured it would have plenty of fiber and fats and nutty taste from the almonds, and the sweetness of the fruit would be all it needed.
All 3 family members loved this one. We will definitely make it again.
I’m glad I tried this as I have never put almonds In a smoothie!! But, not quite as sweet as I would have liked. Next time I will add a few more berries.
Delicious!!
It was really good! But as a Strawberry Banana smoothie. I was looking forward to seeing how I was going to get a smoothie that tasted like almonds, but it didn’t. Couldn’t taste the cinnamon either.
I really appreciate the level of sweetness in this creamy almond bliss (**cough, rebranding opportunity, cough, cough**). I chose not to add the honey and was once again pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed a non-green smoothie. I didn’t think I liked almonds very much, but obviously I just wasn’t using them appropriately! This really was super delicious. In fact, I drank it in the middle of making the dogs’ food for the next few weeks. I went to take a sip, only to realize shockingly that I had drank the whole thing already. It went down fast.
LOVE IT!!!
I never would have paired almonds with strawberries and cinnamon, but I really like this re pie. Great job!
I love how the flavors blend together in this one. It was hard not to gulp it down in one sitting because it was just so tasty. I didn’t have almond milk so I used oat milk instead.
OK today I had to modify this recipe. Instead of almond milk are used rice milk and rolled oats. I’m allergic to almonds so therefore I had to make this recipe using other stuff. It was quite helpful and I was able to enjoy my smoothie for today. It really helps you gave us a substitution guide. Smoothie was a little thin but I enjoyed it. thank you

This smoothie was so creamy and smooth! I love the simple blend of strawberries, bananas, nuts, and cinnamon! I even tossed in 2 dates that added just enough sweetness to this blend and oats to boost it up! This would be a nice breakfast smoothie choice for me!
