Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. How to remove the rind from a lemon

  1. Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
  2. Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
  3. Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.

Perfect Lemon Smoothie

Light, refreshing, and perfect for warm weather, this lemon smoothie is a great start to summer. The sweet peaches offset the tart lemon, while the fresh ginger brings out a bit of tang.

Ingredients  

  • 1 lemon peeled
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp raw honey
  • ½ inch ginger root fresh
  • 1 cup peach frozen
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 serving homemade protein powder optional

Instructions 

  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  • Pour into a tall glass and enjoy.

    You could just taste the immunity boosters in this Lemon Smoothie with honey and turmeric! The whole lemon made it a bit puckery. I still thought it was very good.

    This smoothie was pleasantly tart and very refreshing. I used a Meyer lemon with some of the zest attached, oat milk instead of water, plain nonfat Greek yogurt for protein to make it a meal replacement, about 1 tsp extra honey to offset the tartness from the yogurt, and 1 Tbsp hemp hearts for a phosphorus boost. It was really good! It is so refreshing that I will be making it frequently during the warmer months.

    I liked it but was a little tart/bitter. Will try using not as much pith next time. All in all great anti-inflammatory benefits!

    Lemony taste! Mine did not turn out as yellow because I ended up blending the whole fruit. I had some in the freezer I needed to use. The smoothie is a great way to get vitamin C, other nutritious vitamins, and anti-inflammatory spices.

    Refreshingly Tart!

    I really enjoyed the Lemon smoothie today. I used frozen pineapple as didn’t find peaches, a bit of chia seeds and some fresh mint. Garnished with leftover blackberries. I tasted it and it was sweet enough without the honey so I left it out. Also I only left the pith on half of the lemon so it was not bitter at all. Definitely something different and worth mixing into my rotation.

    Sadly I blew out my Vitamix – it was old anyway – so this was a lovely sendoff to my old friend!

    This was way too tart, per the recipe, for me, so I added another tablespoon of honey. I also made it a meal replacement with 1/4 cup of Rawkstar Protein Powder. With all that, it’s a good tasting pick-me-up.

    This one was missing something for me. It was horrible by any means but it wasn’t fantastic. I think I’ll do mango next time

  8. I tried this smoothie but used ruby red grapefruit instead of the lemon. I have a grapefruit tree in my backyard! I also added some chia and hemp seeds for protein. Very tasty!

    This drink was refreshing and tart the honey helped with the tartness. I will definitely make this again. I felt as if it cleansed my body.

    Little tart for my liking but pretty good. I believe I prefer orange over the lemon flavor. Added spinach, banana and protein mix.

    I found this one quite tart, and tended to burn in my stomach. (But I’m not a lemon fan). The vitamin C is a bonus, and if you’re a singer it’s great for the voice.

    I didn’t have peaches, so I used 1/2 cup mango and 1/2 cup pineapple. And 1/2 tsp turmeric. Very different flavor. At first I thought it was too “spicy”, but then I started to like it. I’ll have to try it again…and with peaches :-). I love that I’m getting to try different flavors.
