Why You’ll Love It
- This smoothie hits that sweet spot between fresh and filling. Coconut water keeps it light and hydrating, while frozen mango and banana give it natural sweetness and a creamy texture. The spinach blends right in, adding nutrients without changing the flavor.
- If you’re still learning how to make a smoothie, this recipe is simple, forgiving, and great for building confidence.
- Spinach is one of my favorite leafy green vegetables for smoothies because it has a mild flavor and blends smoothly. Pairing it with citrus fruits like orange helps brighten the flavor and makes the greens virtually undetectable.

Notes
- Use at least one frozen fruit to make the smoothie cold or serve over ice.
- Swap spinach for the leafy greens of your choice.
- Swap coconut water with regular water.
- Use a plant-based protein powder like my protein powder recipe to cut down on the natural sugar in this smoothie.

Loved this one! I’ve never used coconut water in a smoothie and frankly never liked it on its own. This is a wonderful combination of flavours. I used a whole banana and a bit more than half a cup
of mangos and a splash of orange juice
Loved the orange flavour shining through on this one! The citrus is very refreshing.
As a lover of all things coconut this smoothie doesn’t disappoint, it’s filling too!
Loved this one, the coconut water especially! Added some hemp hearts.
Another good one
Love me some good coconut water! Love that the flavor comes through. Not the best smoothie I’ve ever had but pretty good.
Cannot go wrong with mango! I did not have coconut water, so used just regular water instead. I also added some protein powder and flax seeds. Halfway through the challenge and can’t wait for the next five!
This is one of my favorite recipes! Yummy!!
Really enjoyed this one, love the coconut water for electrolytes… Will probably pack this one for a snack between my work shifts since I have a very active/physical job
Good but not the best. I did not use protein powder that might help.
This was another good recipe but I added avocado and hemp seeds for a meal replacement. It came out so creamy.
Very refreshing!
My favorite so far!
Day 5 and I think may favorite…..I also added some protein powder and made it a meal replacement
I am loving this 10 day challenge and trying new smoothies….before this challenge I was not a big smoothie person… I am now!!!! Thanks #simplegreensmoothies
Nice ripe mango and orange taste comes through well but not over powering.
Very good way to start the day.
Delicious! I didnt have coconut water so just used plain water and Oh my goodness!!! So yummy!!
This was is great! I love the banana and orange together. I added pineapple and avocado. I will surely make this one again!
A favorite! Nice and light. I could see turning this into a refreshing popsicle.
The Mango Orange Smoothie became a Pineapple Orange Smoothie for me (mango seems to be causing problems for me so I substituted pineapple). The coconut water was a great choice for the liquid. I’m finding that I prefer water or coconut water over almond or coconut milk. I also added a scoop of protein powder. I’m becoming used to and maybe even a bit fond of the bright green color!
Mango Orange – substitution alert – I used papaya instead of orange. This one was yummy. I am definitely gravitating to the smoothies with the added creaminess from bananas. This had a nice flavor with no one flavor outdoing another. Delicious, one worth repeating if there weren’t so many more to try.
