Why You’ll Love It
- This smoothie hits that sweet spot between fresh and filling. Coconut water keeps it light and hydrating, while frozen mango and banana give it natural sweetness and a creamy texture. The spinach blends right in, adding nutrients without changing the flavor.
- If you’re still learning how to make a smoothie, this recipe is simple, forgiving, and great for building confidence.
- Spinach is one of my favorite leafy green vegetables for smoothies because it has a mild flavor and blends smoothly. Pairing it with citrus fruits like orange helps brighten the flavor and makes the greens virtually undetectable.

Mango Orange Green Smoothie Ingredients
- Spinach: Fresh or frozen both work well
- Coconut water: Adds hydration and subtle sweetness
- Orange: Peel first to avoid bitterness
- Frozen mango: Key for thickness and tropical flavor (check out how to cut mango for prep tips)
- Banana: Adds creaminess and balance
Recipe Tips
- If you ever find yourself with extra spinach, learning how to freeze spinach can save money and reduce food waste—plus frozen spinach blends beautifully.
- If your smoothie feels too thin, here are easy ways to make a smoothie thicker.
- This smoothie is perfect for advance prep. Turn it into freezer packs by portioning the fruit and spinach ahead of time. When you’re ready, dump everything into the blender, add liquid, and blend. I share more tips in my guide to frozen meal prep smoothie packs.

Notes
- Use at least one frozen fruit to make the smoothie cold or serve over ice.
- Swap spinach for the leafy greens of your choice.
- Swap coconut water with regular water.
- Use a plant-based protein powder like my protein powder recipe to cut down on the natural sugar in this smoothie.

Really good. I added 1/4 Avocado and bone broth protein shake.
Okay, but my least favorite of the 5 so far. Rather bland.
Love it! The mango and orange are excellent in this recipe!
Loved this one! I used coconut water and added cilantro to it and it went down so fast!
Another favorite for sure!
Love this one! I’m not a fan of coconut water so just used water instead! Still very delicious! 🙂
I enjoy this smoothie. I thought it was pretty good for having orange in it, as orange is not my favorite. Today I did a vanilla protein which changed the flavor some but it was still great.
This recipe was amazing, I love it! Best part is my two young kids too. The only thing I different was used almond milk with toasted coconut instead of the coconut water!
It was good, probably would have been better with the coconut water and the sweetness from the banana. I subbed regular water and avocado since I was out of bananas.
I added some turmeric to the water as well because I needed some extra anti-inflammatory help after a long run.
Another yummy one!
Really tasty! One of our favorites so far in doing the smoothie challenge!
Bright & refreshing!
I’ll make this again!
Tastes so good!
This is a favorite! I love all things mango!
Yum!!
This was very delicious! Will be adding this one to my “make it again” list.
Best one yet!!! I’m not supposed to have oranges (acid reflux), but I figured 1/2 an oranges couldn’t hurt. DELICIOUS!!
I’m using Kale in all the drinks instead of spinach and I did add a small scoop of protein powder. I LOVE the pre-prep. This morning is church and I simply grabbed a prepared bag from the freezer, added the coconut water, blended and was ready to go. Even cleanup went fast. Next time I will add the flax, chia and Spirulina to it. This is great. Thanks
Very good! My husband liked this one the best so far.
Loved this one. Defiantly going to make this one again.
