  6. Paula 1.22.2013 at 2:19 am #

I know I am late for the challenge, but I want to learn how to make Green Smoothies for wellness and weightloss benefits for my husband. If we happen to drop 15 – 20lbs, I am okay with that lol…..I know its late, but I am hoping to learn and catch the next challenge if possible.

    • Jen H 1.23.2013 at 6:49 pm #

Welcome Paula! Enjoy the end of this challenge and we will definitely be posting info in the next week or so about future challenges. Glad you found us– and I hope you enjoy the green smoothies!

I am interested to know what others eat for mail meals. Can you have a smoothie for breakfast and lunch and then eat a main meal of say a small piece of steak with salad or stir fry veges. I love the smoothies for breakfast and/or lunch and dont feel the need to snack between them. I tried Tony Ferguson but the green smoothie is more economical and a lot healthier I would think. Wish I had seen this when it first started but better late than never.

    • Jen H 1.17.2013 at 8:08 pm #

Hi Barb. Green smoothies definitely more filling and economical. For lunches and dinners, we recommend you stick with clean eating‚ unprocessed foods. Rather than a steak, what about chicken breast or salmon— much lighter and easier for your body to digest. I personally try to make healthy choices for dinner– like a salad, sautéed veggies, grilled fish, and hummus + fresh pita bread is also a favorite. I add tomatoes and kalamata olives to it and I’m in heaven. Hope that gives you some inspiration! I would love to hear what other people enjoy eating during the challenge.

Can you use greek yogurt instead of almond milk?

  9. Paul C 1.12.2013 at 10:15 am #

My wife and I just started the challenge this morning and she doesn’t care for the banana in the Beginner’s Luck smoothie. Can you suggest something to replace it?

    • Jen H 1.14.2013 at 6:38 am #

Hi Paul. Welcome to the challenge! Swap out the banana for more mango, peach, papaya or pear to sweeten it up. Or add an avocado to make it thick and creamy.

  10. Natasha 1.11.2013 at 12:55 pm #

I know everyone is a few days into the challenge already, but is it too late to sign up for it? I signed up for it and I didn’t receive the eBook and I checked my spam folder.

    • Jen H 1.8.2013 at 7:45 pm #

Hi Gayle. Definitely not too late— glad to have you on board. I just sent you a confirmation email you need to approve to be a part of the challenge. (We have a weekly email AND one specific for the challenge). Hope that helps.

  14. Danielle L. 1.6.2013 at 9:31 am #

Do you have some sort of “30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge” button that I could put on my blog?

    • Jen H 1.6.2013 at 7:42 pm #

At the moment we don’t— but that’s a great idea! :) Thanks.

  15. tamieka 1.6.2013 at 6:38 am #

hello- i have been emailing and IGing trying to request the beginners luck recipe. i did not see it in the welcome email. i did sign up a little late and planned to start today and go for 30 days but cant find the recipe- help please!

    • Jen H 1.6.2013 at 7:39 pm #

Hi Tamieka! Sorry for the slow response— we have been pretty busy over here now that we are a week into the challenge. I just checked and it looks like you didn’t sign up for The 30 Day Challenge yet. (Maybe you joined our newsletter list?) I just started the sign up process so you should be getting a confirmation email. Also, here is a link to the Beginner’s Luck smoothie: http://simplegreensmoothies.com/beginners-luck-green-smoothie

You can also find a lot more information if you hover over the “30 Day Challenge” on our navigation menu. We have posted everything there for you to read through and get on board. Glad you found us and joined the challenge. Hope that helps!

      • tamieka 1.6.2013 at 8:04 pm #

Thanks. I signed up again. I had gotten the email to confirm and it had the 5 recipes and ebook-confirming again now. I improvised in the meantime and used spinash-tangerine-strawberry-banana with unsweetened coconut almond milk.

Tasted pretty yummy-i had it with a had full of almonds and cashews.

        Thanks again for the reponse.

  16. Lorrie 1.5.2013 at 12:31 pm #

Hi, I love a challenge and joined, but did get the ebook attachment.

    • Jen H 1.6.2013 at 5:09 am #

Just email you Lorrie. It’s not an attachment, but rather a LINK within the email you click on and it opens the eBook in a new window.

  17. Tiffany 1.5.2013 at 3:34 am #

I just stumbled across this today! I think this is amazing already :)

But quick question, I have a lot of allergies with some of the fruits like mango, pineapple, etc. what’s a good alternative? I wanna get on the beginners luck smoothie but sadly I can’t if there the magno and pineapple ):

    • Jen H 1.6.2013 at 5:04 am #

Hi Tiffany — feel free to swap it out with a fruit that you love and adore. :)

You can double up another ingredient already in the smoothie. If something calls for 1 cup of something you just can’t eat, swap it with 1 cup of a fruit you can eat. Mixed berries and mixed fruit bags that are frozen are a great replacement ingredient.

I am loving this challenge, I replace two meals with the beginners smoothie and I am feeling it, I was already doing green smoothie but was not challenged. I started on Jan. 2nd, I was soo excited I got on the scale on Jan.1st so I can keep up with any weight loss, when I woke up this morning Jan 4th I was already down 2.4 lbs I was soooo excited I am looking forwad to the next few weeks not Just for the weight loss but for a life time change in how I eat. Blessings to everyone doing this challenge It is great
    Sharon

    • Jen H 1.6.2013 at 1:32 pm #

Congrats Sharon! That’s huge motivation in itself! Keep on drinking and feeding your body nutritious foods—the results will pay off.

  19. Jenn 1.4.2013 at 1:35 pm #

3 smoothies down! Love this challenge for 2 reasons: (1) I feel like when I have a green smoothie in the morning, even if the rest of my day goes down the drain, at least I will have had a few fruits and veggies so it’s not a total wash, and (2) I am hoping to stave off winter colds and blahs by having a green smoothie every day this month.

    Thanks for organizing this!

  20. simone 1.4.2013 at 11:20 am #

hi, I want to join the 30 day challenge but when I submit my email to join I don’t receive the email to confirm.

    • Jen H 1.2.2013 at 1:26 pm #
