Avocado Banana Smoothie Ingredients

- Avocado adds healthy fats that boost creaminess, helps you stay full, and improves vitamin absorption. Cut avocado like a pro with my guide.
- Banana brings natural sweetness and smooth texture that balances the greens. If you like thick smoothies, you can freeze bananas ahead of time.
- Mango adds extra creaminess, masks any “green” taste, and delivers vitamins A and C. For quick prep, check out my guide on how to cut mango.
- Protein powder: Adding about 20 grams of unflavored, homemade protein powder balances the fats from avocado and carbs from fruit. It helps keep you full, supports muscle recovery, and lets the smoothie’s natural flavors shine without added sugars or fillers.

- Adjust with more water if needed, taste, and add a squeeze of lemon or lime if desired.
- Add in protein powder and blend on low until thick and creamy to minimize aeration.

Add more liquid, such as water, milk (dairy or non-dairy), or juice, a little at a time, and blend again until you reach your desired consistency.
Yes, as long as the avocado isn’t overly brown or mushy. A slightly soft avocado is fine for blending.
While the banana contributes sweetness and creaminess, you could try using mango, pear, or even a bit of honey or maple syrup for sweetness. The texture might be slightly different.
Yes, frozen avocado chunks are available and work well in smoothies. They also help make the smoothie colder and thicker. For busy mornings, you can include them in frozen meal prep smoothie packs so you always have ready-to-blend ingredients on hand.
Yes! The bananas and avocados lend a creaminess to the whole smoothie while boosting the fiber and adding some natural sweetness for a quick energy boost. Avocados are rich in heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, reducing cardiovascular disease risk. They’re also rich in potassium, essential for balancing blood pressure.
They sure do. Bananas and avocados blend into a creamy, subtly sweet mix, ideal for smoothies. The banana’s sweetness masks the avocado’s mild flavor, creating a delicious and nutritious combination.

Mmmm. Very good. I made your Homemade Protein Powder and it was wonderful.
A little thick with the avocado but the banana and mango got great together.
The Avocado Banana Smoothie was very smooth and tasty. I used bananas that were not as ripe which I think made the smoothie better than when I have used overly ripe bananas. I really like the combination of all the ingredients together and was pleasantly surprised with the addition of avocado. Thank you for a new recipe to add to my smoothie list!
I have never tried a smoothie with avocado. It just gave me the creeps. I have to say, this smoothie has changed my mind! It was so smooth, creamy and YUMMY!
Love day 1 smoothie quite a lot
Tasty rich and smooth
Day 1 smoothie was better than I anticipated! Natural sweetness, and I didn’t get hungry for hours! This one’s a keeper!
I enjoyed starting my day with this smoothie. The combination is great, and I swapped the avocado for cashews since I didn’t have any on hand.
I love the creaminess of this smoothie. However the mango disappeared. I think next time I’ll up the mango. Otherwise a very good smoothie and filling.
Delicious combination! I used almond milk instead of water and greek yogurt instead of protein powder. Never tried avocado in a smoothie before. This might be my new go-to smoothie!
I am not a fan of avocados but green banana smoothie is so yummy! You are a rock star!
I really enjoyed this green smoothie more than I anticipated. However, I ruined mine by adding too much added protein powder that changed the texture of this smoothie. Not a problem from the instructions or ingredients Jen tells you to use, but rather ‘operator error’ on my part, lol. The texture was super thick so needed to add more liquid to thin it out some. I made prepped another freezer bag for later, because I truly like the flavor AND I know it’s good for me with or without protein. Another keeper!
Delicious smoothie
It was quite tasty and easy too. I got everything ready the night before since I was heading to the gym early this morning, that smoothie kept me going during and after my gym session. I did half spinach and arugula and the taste was not affected; it’s a keeper.
The avocado banana smoothie was delicious. The texture was smooth and creamy. I did use coconut water in place of plain water. Will definitely make again.
Was pretty bland. Perhaps our frozen mango wasn’t very sweet. Next time I think I will add a bit of pineapple, or even honey, to give it just a little more of a sweet boost.
It very good and it filled me up.
Delicious! Made one for my husband ❤️
Hip hip hooray for a delicious green smoothie to start the day!!! My sweet hubby even went to grab me an avocado since I forgot. Loved that this one was easy and delicious. I did blend a little ice with mine to make it super cold which was perfect 🙂
I added a nob of fresh ginger, tspn of chia & half a lemon
Love the zing taste & extra fiber
Tasty and creamy could be a good smoothie to make for my granddaughter also.
