Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโs. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.
How to Make a Lemon Smoothie
Combine the frozen peaches, lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric in a high-power blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add water for a thinner consistency.

If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

A bit too zesty for my liking, but I can see there are health benefits from each of the ingredients.
Taste good
This one did not work for me. I substituted coconut yogurt for the honey to calm some of the strong flavors down. But ended up adding a banana and some spinach too. Iโm not a fan of ginger (other than my dog, Ginger) and couldnโt quite balance the taste.
A little too tart. I like the peaches and the lemons. Needed a little more honey. Or maybe maple syrup.
The lemon smoothie is my favorite so far. I ran out of lemons so I used a lime. I also used a small piece of fresh turmeric. Delicious.
I am not a fan of turmeric and while the lemon and ginger was refreshing, I did not care for the overall smoothie. I do love trying all of these new flavors.
Nice and tangy. As my sister pointed out to me, it’s like cold version the lemon, honey, ginger tea. I love it. I’ll have to try it some time with the protein powder.
Day 4 Smoothie Challenge! Wow! Thats what I said when I first tasted this Perfect Lemon Smoothie this morning! An eye opening experience! You would definitely be awake after the first taste!! I thought it was excellent, and nothing like I’ve ever tried before. I did add the Simple Green Protein Boost and Collagen. Mine was thick and creamy, and very filling!
Yes, I would make it again, it is very tart, but the peaches in combination with the lemon is really good.
Love it!
So surprised how much I liked this lemon smoothie. I had both the fresh ginger and turmeric and Meyer lemon to make this. I did add some black pepper as I know that enhances the properties of the turmeric. As always I added 1 teaspoon each of psyllium, ground chia and ground flaxseeds. No hemp hearts this time. It was bright, creamy and a great way to brighten up the day.
Loved this one so refreshing
This one was a big hit! Even my son said it was good. I added arugula, used only 1/3 of the honey (maple syrup) and golden paste instead of powdred turmeric. I probably should have added more syrup but enjoyed it anyway & it was very low calorie too! We’ll definitely do this one again. You couldn’t taste the peaches at all so we discussed substituting strawberries or pineapple next time, which we always have on hand.
Beautiful color of smoothie. It really helped me feel like I had more energy and the cleared up my nasal passage. Very powerful ingredients.
Bright and fresh like a summer day! I will definitely have this one again come summertime. Or even freeze it in popsicle molds for a refreshing snack by the pool. The ginger adds a nice kick! Cheers
I loved this smoothie. I am definitely making this again. The lemon was so refreshing and the honey sweetened it just enough. The ginger gave it that kick, the prefect amount of spicy. I shared some with my grandmother and my three-year-old and they both loved it as well.
I enjoyed this smoothie. I didnโt have a lemon so I used a lime. Very tasty and refreshing. Probably will be better with the lemon next time.
I am not a fan. Very sour. I even added a banana to help the sour. Didnโt help much. I couldnโt even finish it.
