Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโs. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.
How to Make a Lemon Smoothie
Combine the frozen peaches, lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric in a high-power blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add water for a thinner consistency.

If you blended a smoothie that tastes less than great, then try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to it. Lemon can help brighten up that smoothie a bit, as well as bring the other flavors together.
If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

Pretty good! I probably wouldn’t make this one regularly, because peeling the lemon is a bit more work than I want in the mornings. I like how refreshing and zingy it is with the lemon, ginger, and turmeric. A very nice balance, especially since turmeric often overpowers other flavors. I might try this again with some added spinach and maybe banana. BF didn’t like the intense flavor.
Day 4
Iโm not a fan of lemon but gave it a try anyway. I will not be making that one again. Not my kind of combination. I tried.
OMG, Yum! I make a warm lemon, ginger, turmeric, ACV drink some mornings (helps with inflammation) so I really enjoyed this smoothie with the peaches added to it, I did add a dash of black pepper which wasn’t enough to change the taste but to help with the adsorption of the turmeric. when I make it again I will add a bit more ginger.
Very tart! Not one I would make everyday but nice for a different taste.
The color is beautiful! However, the tartness is overpowering
I used fresh turmeric root, instead of ground. Not sure if that made it more tart? Maybe adding a mandarin or a bit more honey might helpโฆ
Loved this smoothie! I don’t care for peaches so went with a blueberry/ lemon theme. Gorgeous color! Yummy.
New and interesting smoothie. A little too zippy/zingy for my taste. But always open to trying new healthy smoothies.
Pretty tasty, donโt even know thereโs spinach in it. ๐
Wow! I love, love, love this!!! I just drank it and want another one.
Perfect Lemon: Definitely not my favorite. I really don’t like ginger much, so even though I put in less it still overpowered the taste for me. I am going to try this again without the ginger and perhaps add some mango or banana for extra flavor.
Wonderful, tangy, tropical!
Reminds me of lemon gelato this is how good it tastes
At first taste, I was not a fan. So I added some flaked coconut. Still not the best smoothie. But we drank them. The taste kind of grew on us. Next time I will use fresh turmeric.
Bright and refreshing. Added a little coconut milk and yogurt to curb the sour.
This one is so refreshing. Reminds me of summer days and sitting on the beach. One of my new favorites!
Refreshing and delicious, tart
