Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimer’s. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ½ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.
How to Make a Lemon Smoothie
Combine the frozen peaches, lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric in a high-power blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add water for a thinner consistency.

If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

This is a nice and bright tasting smoothie. If you’re just getting used to the taste of turmeric (like me) this is a milder option than the Honey Turmeric smoothie. I think as I make more, this’ll grow on me.
Love the lemon, added extra honey to sweeten otherwise not sure I would like this one, I’m really glad I tried it and will make again with less lemon.
I love lemons and sour things so I knew I was going to love this one and I wasn’t wrong!
I always squeeze my lemons into my smoothies, so I’m excited to learn I can just throw the peeled lemon in there and get some extra goodness and texture. The lemons I have are seedless so that worked out!
I love lemon! This smoothie was tart and refreshing. It reminds me of lemon sorbet…yum!
My favorite! So good tasting and good for you! Love the color
Too tart for me though it is refreshing. I might cut the lemon in half and up the peach to 1.5 cups to see how that goes.
Won’t be making this one again. Too tart for our taste buds.
Very tart and refreshing. Made my mouth pucker with each sip.
Smoothie was refreshing just not my favorite. I think I like creamy smoothies better. Very tart from the lemon.
Loved the boost on a cold day. Can see having this one again on a warm summer day like a tart lemonade.
Great vitamin C boost for a 14 degree day. Tastes like tart lemonade and would be very refreshing on a hot day. Skipped the ginger since I did not care for the taste in the orange smoothie.
Day #7 Lemon Smoothie. Not going to lie, saw turmeric and ginger again and was skeptical from day 5’s smoothie. So I added 1 ½ cups of frozen peaches and it tasted delicious . This was a fun challenge and will continue to use these recipes in the future.
Wow! This was lip-puckering good!!
My lemon was large, so started with half, and that was perfect with the remainder of the ingredients as specified. Delicious!
Way too bitter for me. I added strawberries, pineapple, mango’s and blueberries. Delicious.
This was our favorite smoothie! We loved the rich lemon flavor! I added spinach, kiwi and Greens Blend powder on the original recipe and we loved it! It will be on the top of our list of favorite smoothies.
Too much lemon for me. Next time I’ll cut that by half. It’s been great to try new combos.
