Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. How to remove the rind from a lemon

  1. Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
  2. Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
  3. Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.

Light, refreshing, and perfect for warm weather, this lemon smoothie is a great start to summer. The sweet peaches offset the tart lemon, while the fresh ginger brings out a bit of tang.

Ingredients  

  • 1 lemon peeled
  • ½ cup water
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • ½ inch ginger root fresh
  • 1 cup peach frozen
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • 1 serving homemade protein powder optional

Instructions 

  • Blend all ingredients until smooth.
  • Pour into a tall glass and enjoy.

Notes

  • To make this smoothie vegan, replace honey with maple syrup.
  • Meyer lemons are slightly sweeter than traditional lemons, which can help if you don’t love the pucker or a lemon.
  • Use at least 1 frozen fruit for a refreshingly cool smoothie.

    This is an interesting smoothie, at first I didn’t like it. The more I sipped on it, the more I started to enjoy it. It has a unique taste, weirdld addictive and very refreshing.

    My 11 year old weighed in to say it was weird flavor, the worst one I have ever made and asked me not to make it for him again.

    Love love love. Definitely going to be a go to especially to avoid going completely under the weather. The combo of lemon and ginger is a fav for tea already. So nice to have it in a smoothie form.

    Very different than the other smoothies! I added a 1/2 tsp chunk of fresh ginger and it was too much for me. I’ll make again with less ginger because I think I’ll enjoy it!

    A nice change of pace! I was nervous about the turmeric, but the lemon did its job to mute turmeric’s strong flavor. The taste of ginger has grown on me over the past couple of years, so I’ve grown to enjoy its spiciness. This will definitely wake you up in the morning!

    Wow, this one is definitely one that brings tears to my eyes and makes my lips pucker! I’m not really a fan of this one as much as most of the other so far. It was way too tart for my liking. I do love lemon and all of the other things in it, however, I think that instead of adding honey, I would add a date or two next time and perhaps only half of a lemon as a whole one is way too powerful for me.
