Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโs. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.
How to Make a Lemon Smoothie
Combine the frozen peaches, lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric in a high-power blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add water for a thinner consistency.

If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

This one is by far my favorite! I have to admit, I didnโt do the planning, shopping and prep for the 10 day smoothie challenge. I am a โwing itโ cook and I make โlikeโ substitutions ALL the time. I didnโt have peaches so I used pineapple. It was fabulous! Then I added my vanilla vegan PP to it and it was still fab! This may be my new โbaseโ going forward and I may switch up the peach portion with other fruit/berries for variety. I can also see me adding spinach to this one!
Can I give it 6 stars?
My blender is not super strong, i occasianlyy am getting bitter lemon fiber, very refreshing and beautiful color
I was really looking forward to this one. I was so disappointed in it. The turmeric is the main flavor and it was more tart than I like. I like the idea of a lemon smoothie, Iโm going to have to play around with it to see if I can get it to a taste that I like. The color was beautiful though!
If you love lemons like I do You will absolutely love this.
This certainly did add a ray of sunshine to a gloomy rainy South Florida winter’s day. I couldn’t find peaches so I subbed local mango that I had frozen. This smoothie was like a thick juice, light, refreshing, citrusy and great start to my day.
This smoothie is very refreshing, but not my favorite. Probably becauseโฆIโm a chocolate smoothie girl! โโ๏ธ
I did not think I was going to like this one, but I did. I was concerned about using a whole lemon, but I guess the peaches cancelled it out. I used to put ginger in all my smoothies, it time to start again
Not my cup of tea. The honey globbed up in the side of the blender when it hit the cold items & the result wad a very tart smoothie. I wanted more peach! All I could taste was lemon.
I was slightly worried to expect a tart tasting smoothie, but was pleasantly surprised. I was able to taste not only the lemon, but the peaches and the ginger.
Refreshing! Perfect to sip on the veranda on a hot summer day. Love it!
This one unfortunately is not for us. Tumeric overpowered other flavors
Refreshing! I omitted the ginger as I dont like it. I did find it more peachy than lemony. If you like lemon, Id suggest add more lemon and a bit less peach.
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh. I’m in love. This smoothie is sunshine in a cup. It’s very pretty and it’s oh so good. I love lemons and I never would have thought to use a lemon in a smoothie in this way. This one is my favorite so far. I had to add more water to mine.
What a morning boost! I doubled the recipe and plan to sip the remaining half during the afternoon.
This energizing โLemonadeโ is my favorite so far!!! Love the flavor and it just made me feel good!
Not a favorite…too many flavors going on. Nice to try something different though.
I made the Lemon Smoothie exactly as the recipe said, using raw honey (mine was raw ginger-cinnamon honey). I also used freshly ground turmeric root. This is my favorite smoothie so far! It just feels so healthy to drink! If you are not a fan of ginger, you might want to cut back as it is potent. I never used to care for ginger but now I love it. I believe it is an acquired taste.
By far this is my least favorite…way too sour/tart/spicy for my liking this early in the morning. Don’t think I’ll be making this one again.
