Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโs. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.
How to Make a Lemon Smoothie
Combine the frozen peaches, lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric in a high-power blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add water for a thinner consistency.

If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

The first two sips were tough but then I got used to it and really liked it. I personally enjoy the spicy flavor.
A little too tart for me, but a refreshing taste. I will also play around with the amount of ginger and turmeric the next time.
I didnโt like it, I couldnโt get mine to turn out well. I donโt have a high speed blender to blend the well. It would be really nice to win the vita mix
Love, Love, Love Lemons. (I ate them raw -till affected my teeth enamel) this was so refreshing and delicious.
Day 4 Lemon Smoothie
Yummy! I love lemons, so I new id love this smoothie! The ginger & turmeric add another dimension. Love it!
Refreshing, but I think I will have to play around with the amount of ginger and tumeric in this one. Needed to add lots more water as others suggested.
Another very refreshing smoothie. I really enjoy fresh ginger so I added a bit more and it was delicious!
This is my favorite smoothie yet! I felt a burst of energy and healthy vibes throughout my body after drinking it. Surprisingly itโs not as sour as thought it would be.
Lemon smoothies are something I normally drink to help prevent kidney stones. This is pretty much the same recipe I use. Normally I use about about a cup of pineapple instead of peaches, an inch of ginger, no honey. I don’t normally add turmeric. But since I like turmeric, I went ahead and gave it a try. I added it with 1/8 tsp black pepper to help absorb the curcumin in the turmeric. It’s a tasty smoothie with lots of health benefits. I like to drink this about 2 times a week. For those who can’t handle how tart it is, try adding one scoop of a vanilla protein powder.
Thanks for the suggestion
This smoothie is a bit tart for my taste, but it actually grew on me as I drank more. Ginger was the dominant flavor for me. I may try it again and slightly reduce the ginger.
Really enjoyed this one. It was fresh I did not add any protein powder but needed it. Turned out really good I will be doing this one again.
Drinking this brought burst of summer on a cold winter day. I wish I had mixed in a little protein powder, my only regret.
I love this one! Was looking forward to today and it didnโt disappoint!
Delicious and refreshing. This will be a part of my weekly regime now.
Very tart, certainly wakes up the taste buds.
Too sour and I am not a fan of ginger in a drink. Used coconut water instead of regular water, otherwise, prepared exactly as written.
