Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโs. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.
How to Make a Lemon Smoothie
Combine the frozen peaches, lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric in a high-power blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add water for a thinner consistency.

If you blended a smoothie that tastes less than great, then try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to it. Lemon can help brighten up that smoothie a bit, as well as bring the other flavors together.
If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

Tart & tasty smoothie, made mine with lemon, plant-based milk, honey, ginger, turmeric & pineapple instead of peaches.
Although very bright it was a bit too sour for me. I did add some extra honey but still a bit to much. Maybe adding banana would have made it better for me.
Made according to recipe. Wowee!! Talk about waking up your taste buds!! What a zinger!
Too tart, so dumped it back into the blender and added a hall tablespoon of honey. Still too tart, but headed in the right direction. So added another half tablespoon honey. Finally delicious. Beautiful color! Could not taste peach at all, though. Drank 8 oz. then added some hemp hearts and half a banana to the remainder for my lunch. Havenโt tasted that yet, but anticipation is high!
Love the color and taste.
I was skeptical about this one; I didn’t think I was going to like it. I absolutely LOVED it! It was so bright and flavorful!
Oh this is my jam! Love the tart lemon and ginger and fresh turmeric is the clincher…not always available but so worth it. I didn’t bother grating the ginger or turmeric (just cut into a couple of chunks each) which is probably harder on my Vitamix but there you have it. I did take out the seeds of the lemon. I needed a splash more water as all of my other ingredients were frozen. We all think this would make fabulous popsicles this summer.
I am really not a lemon person so this was pretty sour for me. I added in a half banana and I think it helped somewhat! Going to try and get a half glass down! Lol
This was my least favorite as it was rather tart. I substituted strawberries for the peaches so maybe that is why. I also keep slices of fresh turmeric root in my freezer, so I used that instead of the ground turmeric. It is probably very healthy though.
I would have never thought to put lemon in a smoothie but SGS has me loving it in almost all of them! I donโt love ginger so this smoothie wasnโt my favorite but I would drink it again because it wasnโt bad and I know that all of these ingredients are so good for our bodies.
I liked it; not love it. Also too much work ๐
Loved the flavor on this! I actually put in two lemons and took the seeds out first. However, the volume on this was a lot lower than the other smoothies. Shockingly my toddler loved it too!!
So far, my favourite smoothie. I love lemons so what can I say. I did add some Hemp seeds too and I have a good blender.
Very tasty and quite tart, but it’s okay. Would be a great drink in the summer-time. Mine actually was much less quantity than the other three, certainly was not 16 oz as it didn’t even fill up an 8oz glass, so not sure what I missed as I checked and rechecked the ingredient list and I put everything in that was listed. Probably need suggestions on what I can add to reduce some of the tartness and then I would like it much more.
The smoothie taste was surprising tart and rich ginger & turmeric after taste. This would have worked better with fresh ripe peaches vs. frozen, and I substituted maple syrup as I did not have honey. I did not make it as recommended – resulting in an unfair rating. I will have to revisit this one in the summer. With all that, it is still a lot better than some of my concoctions in the past!
Tangy is the one word that describes this smoothie. Will awaken all your taste buds! Added water and will try this one again.
Love the taste … peeling and deseeding the lemon is a pain in the butt!
Tart and tasty!! I used local peach and honey, and lemon I had previously blended. Then I made an extra cup using SGS anti-inflammatory smoothie cubes (in place of the fruit, turmeric and ginger), which turned out a little sweet from the mango and pineapple. For today, this smoothie replaced my usual morning drink of hot water with lemon and ginger. I considered adding greens, but I wanted the vibrant yellow colour!
