Health Benefits of a Lemon Peach Smoothie
Lemon: This smoothie calls for a whole lemon without the rind. Lemon flesh provides fiber to help you feel full longer. Lemons also give this smoothie a dose of vitamin C, which is just what your body needs to fend off both cold and flu viruses.
Peaches: Peaches are in the stone fruit family, and stone fruit gets its name from the hard, inner seed. They are an excellent source of vitamin C to support a healthy immune system. Peaches may also prevent certain types of cancer and aid in digestion.
Honey: Honey not only adds natural sweetness to this lemon smoothie, it’s also a natural energy booster. Look for raw honey in the baking aisle of your grocery store. Unlike pasteurized honey, Raw honey does not undergo the heating process, and all of the nutrients are preserved. Raw honey has antioxidant and natural anti-bacterial properties that can help improve digestive system as well as help you stay healthy.
Ginger: Ginger contains the anti-inflammatory compound gingerol. Ginger also helps promote healthy digestion, lower blood pressure, and increased immunity. Peel the skin from the ginger with a sharp paring knife before grating the flesh.
Turmeric: Turmeric contains curcumin, a powerful anti-inflammatory compound. The medicinal effects of turmeric work at the molecular level to tame inflammation that leads to diseases like heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, and Alzheimerโs. Turmeric delivers antioxidants for boosting your immune system. If you don’t have access to fresh turmeric for your lemon smoothie, then you can swap in dried powdered turmeric. If using fresh, then use about a ยฝ tablespoon-sized knob. Peel the turmeric first, then grate before adding to the blender.
How to remove the rind from a lemon
- Wash and dry the lemon before removing the peel.
- Using a vegetable peeler, peel the rind (like you would an apple). Leaving as much of the white pith on the lemon as possible. This has the most vitamix C of the entire lemon!
- Discard the rind and cut the lemon into quarters. This fleshy part of the lemon contains the fiber, and adding this to your smoothie will keep you feeling full longer.
How to Make a Lemon Smoothie
Combine the frozen peaches, lemon, honey, ginger and turmeric in a high-power blender. Blend until creamy and smooth. Add water for a thinner consistency.
Make this immune-boosting lemon peach smoothie part of your weekly breakfast routine. Get healthy and energized as you sip on this delicious and wholesome smoothie.
Boosting with protein
If you’re looking to turn this smoothie into a meal, then I recommending boosting it with a plant-based protein powder. My protein powder recipe offers 10 grams of plant based protein, along with 4 grams of healthy fat and 7 grams of fiber.

If you find lemons a bit too tart for a smoothie, then try buying Meyer lemons. I can seriously eat these lemons by themselves, they are so sweet and juicy.

A bit tart, but refreshing and different.
Great combination. It has a kick!
Well, good grief! I am sounding like a broken record! I love this smoothie! This has been interesting for me as I only make green smoothies. I have now learned a fruit smoothie replaces that morning/afternoon need for coffee! I also remember why my lemons are sliced and frozen for smoothies because those seeds were are escape artists!
I really enjoyed this one. I only had a problem with getting the honey to blend with cold ingredients. Next time I might try a little frozen banana in place of the honey.
Truly something different from any other smoothie Iโve had before. The lemon smoothie was very tart basically because the honey didnโt seem to mix well. (Stuck to the bottom of the container) I will definitely try and make this smoothie again and use a smaller container during blending.
Love it !
Surprised how much I like this one. Iโm not a fan of lemons or peaches. The mix with turmeric and ginger amazing. I would guess itโs great as an antioxidant .Also am enjoying it now as an afternoon energy booster.
Thanks
Jen
I was skeptical about todays smoothie โฆ.no liquid, no problem. I love sour and this smoothie was amazing and refreshing! โ๏ธ
This is definitely a fresh tasting smoothie! I didnโt have frozen peaches so used a frozen mixed fruit blend that had peaches, mango, pineapple and strawberries. Doubled the recipe, added a little extra honey and poured the extra in popsicle molds- I think will be great when the kiddos arenโt feeling good and donโt want to eat solid foods.
This is a lemon loverโs delight!! I used a Meyer lemon and I used the grated rind to ready my strawberries for my โbowl of heavenโ, which is a fan favorite recipe I got in the 21 day cleanse last fall.
+ + + almonds= โค๏ธ
This one really made me pucker up โOโ but I love everything lemon and loved this smoothie!!
I am really not a lemon person so this was pretty sour for me. I added in a half banana and I think it helped somewhat! Going to try and get a half glass down! Lol
Update: I did finish while drinking water as a chaser!
Not my favorite- just a tad bit too tart!
Definitely interesting and worth a try, but not my favorite. I added a banana after deciding it was too thin and not going to fill me up. I also like the anti-inflammatory aspect.
Love this smoothie. It is a bit strong with the ginger, lemon and turmeric. I would say itโs a sipping smoothie. But this will be my go to smoothie for when I feel a cold coming on.
Day 4. This Lemon Smoothie tastes delicious! I love the lemon taste. Although, I do not taste the turmeric, gingerroot, peaches or honey, I will reap the health benefits of them. Thanks for another great smoothie.
