Head to the grocery store and gather the following fruits, leafy greens and fresh herbs to create this delicious mint smoothie. No matter where you serve it, a juicy, sweet pineapple mint smoothie is amazing. It’s the perfect summer drink to cool down, hydrate and feel amazing!

  • Kale: The king of the leafy green family, kale is packed with fiber and phytonutrients that our body loves.
  • Coconut Water: This is the most hydrating liquid base out there. I love using it as a post-workout smoothie or on a hot day.
  • Pineapple: This natural sweetener turns this healthy smoothie into a decadent poolside cooler.
  • Lime: Fresh limes make the most vibrant flavors and can be blended effortlessly into a mint smoothie.
  • Mint: Mint is a natural stimulant, which can help your perk up during a painfully slow afternoon, or even give you a healthy jolt before you head to the gym.

How to Make Pineapple Mint Smoothie

This Pineapple Mint Smoothie comes together fast, and the steps matter for the smoothest texture and brightest flavor.

  1. Start by adding the kale and coconut water to your blender. Blending the greens first helps fully break down the kale so you don’t end up with leafy bits. This step is especially helpful if you’re newer to green smoothies or using a lower-powered blender.
  2. Once the kale mixture is smooth, add the frozen pineapple, fresh mint, lime juice, and protein powder if you’re using it. Blend again until thick and creamy. The frozen pineapple creates a naturally cold, refreshing smoothie without ice, while the mint and lime add a clean, citrusy finish.

How much mint should I add to my smoothie?

I typically stick to 1/4 cup or less when adding herbs to smoothies. I really want the mint to shine in this pineapple mint smoothie, so I add the whole 1/4 cup. Feel free to start with less if this is your first time trying fresh mint!

Can I use dried mint in a smoothie?

I don’t recommend it. Dried mint has a different flavor, and consistency and doesn’t hold the nutritional benefits found in fresh. I do recommend growing your own mint! It’s super easy to do and allows you to grab a garnish any time you want.

How do I lower the natural sugar in a smoothie?

Use a low-sugar fruit to naturally lower the sugar. If the pineapple in this pineapple mint smoothie is too much, then use half of the measurement called for and add in raspberries, blackberries or peaches to help lower the sugar.

    Tart n tangy taste! I used all pulp from lime amd used Body Armor instead and would make again. Good Summer one!

    This is a winner!! I enjoy the flavors of the pineapple and mint together and then top it off with like . I did make a few changes, I substituted spinach for kale, coconut milk for the water and lime EO for the lime. VERY REFRESHING!!

      So I have never tried Kale and don’t have any. But with spinach and coconut milk, it was delicious. Since all the recipes I have tried thus far have been spectacular, I am going to purchase some Kale and try one of your recipes with Kale. It’s a brave new world!!!

    Gosh all the smoothies have been equally good. I liked this one but I could have used less mint and more pineapple. However, it was still very refreshing.

    We made this one yesterday and it is my favorite so far! So refreshing and full of flavor. We made yesterday’s blueberry smoothie today and while it is very good, it didn’t beat out the mint smoothie.

    Okay so yesterday I said that was my favorite but that has changed today. Today’s smoothie is the best so far. Sweet and refreshing but a little too much mint. I would do a bit less next time. And there will definitely be a next time.

    Not a favorite for me, personally, but I’m glad to have tried it. It is refreshing though, for sure. Too much mint for me (and I LOVE mint!), if I made again I’d definitely decrease the amount. It was just an interesting combination to me.
