If you’re looking for an easy way to support gut health without overthinking it, this Probiotic Smoothie is a great place to start. It’s light, refreshing, and naturally fizzy thanks to kombucha, with frozen peaches adding just the right amount of sweetness.

This is one of those smoothies that feels more like a treat than a “health thing”—especially with the lime-sugar rim—but it still delivers real benefits. Simple ingredients, quick prep, and a flavor combo that keeps you coming back.

Why I Love This Probiotic Smoothie

Gut health plays a big role in how we feel day to day—from digestion and energy to mood and immunity. Probiotics help support a healthy balance of bacteria in the gut, and this is one of the best green smoothies to get them in.

Instead of relying on supplements, this recipe uses kombucha as a natural probiotic source and pairs it with fruit, leafy green vegetables, and optional plant-based protein for balance.

Labeled ingredients: kombucha bottle, fresh spinach (bowl), peaches

Ingredients You’ll Need

This smoothie comes together with just a handful of ingredients:

  • Spinach: A gentle leafy green that blends easily and adds fiber and micronutrients.
  • Kombucha: Provides probiotics and a light, refreshing tang.
  • Frozen peaches: Naturally sweet, and a low-sugar fruit, it’s thick and creamy once blended.
  • Collagen peptides: Helps turn this into a more filling snack or light meal. If you’re vegan, swap it for my homemade protein powder or leave out.
  • For the rim: Dip the glass rim into lime juice and coat with coconut sugar to add a subtle caramel-like sweetness to the rim. Completely optional, but fun!

Kombucha Buying Guide

My favorite store-bought brands of kombucha are:

  • Health-Ade: Passion Fruit-Tangerine or Pink Lady Apple
  • GTS Living Foods: Watermelon Wonder
  • Suja: Peach Kombucha
  • GTS Living Food: Gingerade

  2. Add the frozen peaches and blend again on high until thick and creamy.
  3. Add in collagen peptides and blend on low.
  4. On a small shallow plate, pour the lime juice and coconut sugar. Dip the rim of your glass into the lime juice, then into the sugar to coat the edge.

  • You can also blend the lime right into the smoothie and use water to line the glass.
  • Probiotics can be added to the smoothie as well in powder form.

Will blending kombucha kill the probiotics?

Nope. Blending kombucha does not destroy its beneficial probiotics. As long as you’re using raw, unpasteurized kombucha and not heating it, those live cultures stay intact and active in your smoothie.

Can I taste the kombucha in the smoothie?

Only lightly. The frozen peaches naturally sweeten the smoothie and balance kombucha’s tang. If you’re new to kombucha, choose a mild flavor (like ginger or plain) and avoid strongly spiced varieties.

Is collagen okay to add to a probiotic smoothie?

Yes. Collagen peptides don’t interfere with probiotics and blend in easily. They’re flavorless and dissolve smoothly, making them an easy add-in for extra protein and amino acids.

Do I have to do the lime and coconut sugar rim?

Not at all. The rim is optional and purely for fun. It adds a little sparkle and brightness, but the smoothie is just as nourishing and delicious without it.

I can’t have kombucha for medical reasons and used coconut water instead. I love the frozen peaches with lime. It’s a nice combo.

I like zip that the carbonation from Kombucha adds. I did not add any lime to the smoothie and since I had to take this one on the go, I skipped the sugar rim. I have done that before though, and like it…looks fancy and adds an extra touch of sweet! I also added a couple coconut milk smoothie cubes this time because I’m addicted.

I substituted water for kombucha, and added a bit of ginger. Also forgot to juice the lime and put just half of it in. Not an overwhelming peach flavour, but that could be because of my frozen peaches or my additions/mistakes.

I was terrified as I’ve never had kombucha before. I used the GTS gingerade and love it, great taste and very refreshing, a keeper no doubt. By the way, I love rimming the glass with the coconut sugar, it adds a a bit of sophistication and whimsy. P.S. I rimmed mine with a blend of coconut sugar and Pink Himalayan salt, delish.

    1. I bet the sweet/salty combo of sugar and salt was really good!

I liked the Peach Probiotic and not as much as some of my other favorites. The kombucha gives it an attention getting taste, but still good. I have drank it down quickly so I must have liked it. I followed the recipe exactly.

Don’t feel right leaving a review on this one because I hardly followed this recipe. Didn’t have kombucha so used water. My peaches were not very viable, so had to add in apricots to make up the difference and that wasn’t enough fruit so I added 1/2 a banana. So this was good, but not this recipe. LOL

Bit bland. Dont think my peaches where ripe enough but added some grapefruit juice and that made it superyummy! Didnt have kombucha (couldn’t find it) so used tea and some apple cider vinegar

Do yourself a favor and make this smoothie! I’ve never thought of adding kombucha to a smoothie but it made it taste delicious. I used a ginger lemon flavor. This smoothie is a bit tart and not too sweet, but it sure doesn’t taste like spinach. Loved it!

I usually don’t like kombucha, but this was surprisingly good!!! Thank you so much for all the new ideas to make my smoothies tasty and rich in flavor!!!

I made this with a locally produced Peach Mango Kombucha. I added lime juice and zest, but not the whole lime as I have found lime can be overpowering. Fresh peaches and YUM! I normally do not like peach smoothies, but this has me rethinking that thought.

Oops! Made a mistake, added whole 1/2 lime in smoothie, wet glass with water. I changed the recipe a little bit, altered the taste. I used lemon ginger tea with a dash of cayenne pepper, added too much cayenne pepper, should have used coconut water, instead of kombucha. I added 1/2 cup Greek yogurt and used a baby kale, spinach, Swiss chard mix

I Love this smoothie!! It was my first time putting Kombucha in my smoothie. (I used raspberry lemonade flavor one) To be honest, I wasn’t sure about Kombucha in a green smoothie, but surprisingly, I enjoyed it very much!

Never thought to use kombucha in smoothie before. It was great. Took my smoothie to go so didn’t get to try the coconut sugar on the rim. Next time. Swapped Mango for the peaches.

Have always been a Kombucha fan. Have never put it in a smoothie. Kind of an Ah Ha moment for me. Worked out great!

This was just alright. It was really tart, but that could’ve been because I used a 1/2 a lime, not just the juice; I guess that was a typo in the page I had, lol. Also, I used ginger kombucha, which was too much ginger, so I’ll try it with a different flavor next time.

    1. Yay!!! Kombucha is soooo good for you! SO happy we convinced you to give it a try!

  16. Thanks so much for sharing this mocktail! Love seeing the creative ways to use kombucha!
