A great way to introduce your friends to green smoothies is to have a party. Instead of cocktails, whip up a big pitcher of green smoothie. This has got to be one of our family favorites— juicy, sweet pineapple; refreshing mint and a squeeze of lime. The only thing missing is the beach.
If you're not a fan of kale in your smoothies but want to be, this is a good one to start with. The pineapple and coconut water make it very sweet. The kale flavor ends up being very mild. Let me put it this way, normally my kids don't like kale in their smoothies, but this one went down the hatch nice and easy with nary a word of, “I don't like this! It's too…green!”
Your friends and your body will thank you further on down the line. The recipe below will make 2 good-sized smoothies. For a crowd, make a double or triple batch. Trust me, your guests are going to keep coming back for more!

Pineapple Mojito Green Smoothie
- 2 cups fresh kale
- 2 cups coconut water
- 3 cups pineapple
- ¼ cup fresh mint leaves
- Juice of 1 lime
- Blend kale and coconut water until smooth.
- Add remaining ingredients, and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
*Use frozen fruit to make smoothie cold.
