Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:

  • Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
  • Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
  • Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
  • Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
  • Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.

Recipe Variations

  • Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
  • Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
  • Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
  • Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.

Storage Tips

Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

Oh yum! I’ve come to love the green smoothies, so I was a little Leary of the cauliflower. I thought I’d miss the brightness of the greens, but no. This is a creamy, sweet delight.

Was a good smoothie but not my favorite. I thought the banana over powered the taste of the strawberries. It might also have been because you cannot get ripe fresh strawberries at this time where I live. I will try it again and cut down the amount of banana.

I’ve never thought to put cauliflower in a smoothie, but I will do it again in the future! I substituted peaches for the strawberries and added spinach, and that was breakfast! Yum.

I thought this smoothie was ok. I think I am not a fan of cauliflower in smoothies. It gives a weird taste to me. All the other ingredients were good.

Made this today… it was good… I tried unsweetened Hemp Milk instead of Almond milk and I think the Almond milk is better. I never thought of adding cauliflower – it has no taste, so that’s cool and it’s frozen so helps keep the shake cold!

Day#2 Today in Montreal it was —30C or —22F for my American friends so it took all my courage to prepare my great cold drink! Hot chocolate would have been more appropriate but when you have a goal set for yourself hahaha So I decided to use Day 2 smoothie as a meal substitute at lunch time so I added one table spoon of proteins. Felt good and light all afternoon (great feeling following the Holidays food excesses). I had a small nuts snack mid afternoon to stop a little bit of craving. — I’ll definitely try again that smoothie without protein powder which gave it a subtle “earthy taste”.

Cauliflower was a brilliant addition- creamy and filling. It’s only day 2 and my smoothie repertoire is already expanding.

This is my new favorite! Could not even taste the cauliflower. I did swap the chia seeds with hemp hearts, since chia seeds and I do not get along

Has to make adjustments to this smoothie since I am allergic to strawberries. I used cherries, bananas, almond milk, hemp seed and added oats. Very delicious!!!

Made smoothie according to recipe. Good, but not sure I will be in a hurry to make this one again as I feel it had a LOT of chia seeds in it and flavor was okay, just not spectacular.

I have never made a smoothie with cauliflower. It was delicious!
I loved being able to enjoy the flavor of the strawberries.

Strawberry Banana Smoothie: I must say I have never blended cauliflower in a smoothie before until now, so yummy. I topped it off with slices of strawberries and Hemp Hearts and shared it with my 3 1/2-year-old granddaughter, She said, “grandma it tastes really good, can I have some more.” It’s grandma approved and granddaughter approved.

While making the strawberry smoothie, I wasn’t sure if I would like it. Then I tasted it and still was convinced because of look and taste. It wasn’t until lunch time when I tasted it that I actually enjoyed it. Who would have ever thought frozen cauliflower and Chia seeds could compliment a smoothie. The saying is true that looks can be deceiving:). Glad I gave it a try.

This smoothie was good, but not as flavorful as I expected. The bananas smoothed it out, but I didn’t get much of a strawberry taste.

I used fresh cauliflower. I didn’t even taste it.

This smoothie is very creamy, and its really good! Next time, I’ll just add one banana, and add a bit more cauliflower or strawberries.

I used oat milk in the strawberry banana smoothie today. I thought I bought unsweetened almond milk, but when I looked at the carton today I realized I bought the sweetened one by mistake. This recipe was still delicious with the oat milk. I stirred the chia seeds into my glass at the end.

I was surprised by how thick and creamy this was. I think it’s a great option for breakfast or dessert. It is very filling.
