Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients
Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:
- Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
- Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
- Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
- Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
- Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.
Recipe Tips
- Add a protein powder or try my homemade protein powder to give you long lasting energy without any sugar crash.
- Swap almond milk with any non-dairy milk like oat, soy, cashew, or coconut milk.
- Use one of my recommended blenders for smoothies to get the creamiest result.

Recipe Variations
- Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
- Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
- Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
- Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
- Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.
Storage Tips
Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

Delicious and creamy. Can’t even taste the cauliflower, but happy to get the nutrients.
Strawberry Banana smoothie is good, not a favorite that would be on repeat for myself. Surprising that you cannot taste the cauliflower.
So I was a little concerned about adding cauliflower but I can’t taste it. However since I used fresh bananas & oat milk that doesn’t have to be refrigerated until opened the smoothie was little warmer than I like, so I am going to make sure to use cold liquids & maybe put my banana in fridge to cool down too? Any other tips are welcomed.
Hi Rozelle! You can also freeze the banana if you’re using a warm oat milk!
I love adding cauliflower to smoothies and this is a great one!
The frozen cauliflower did make the smoothy creamy without any adverse taste. I had my doubts, but this tasted great.
The strawberry banana smoothie is really good! I made it exactly as the recipe stated (but only used one banana.) It was great!
Then, I thought I’d add some vanilla protein powder I had on hand. Really wish I had left the smoothie as it was.
I like this smoothie, I did add Cheries and didn’t taste the cauliflower.
I really like the cauliflower smoothies.
I really enjoyed this recipe and am now on the “add cauliflower” bandwagon!
Very good! I added a berry protein powder and it was still delicious!
This smoothie tastes like dessert. The cauliflower is a game changer in making it super creamy! Even the kids loved it which is WIN!
I loved the creaminess that the cauliflower provided. Tasted great – you would never know there was cauliflower in there. I added spinach too!
Loved the addition of the cauliflower and the added health benefits. I cut the banana back; too sweet for me.
Next time I will try replacing some of the banana with avocado. #challenge
Love the idea of cauliflower (now that I’ve tried this) and enjoyed today’s recipe!
Good tasting smoothie. Didn’t have cauliflower but added spinach & chocolate protein powder I had. Only used 1 small banana. Pretty sweet.
One of my “go to” smoothies. I also add flax seeds and kale.
Cold and refreshing jump start to the day. Strawberry smoothies are already on regular rotation for me. The added cauliflower was different and a first. Can’t wait to try this one when I’m able to pick my own strawberries during the spring.
My whole family loved this one! We couldn’t taste the cauliflower at all. I made it with Ripple milk, which adds some protein, but next time I’ll try adding protein powder to make it a more complete meal.
I like the smoothie with cauliflower in it.
A great tasting smoothie that is quick and easy to make. This will be on my weekly rotation.
