Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients
Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:
- Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
- Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
- Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
- Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
- Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.
Recipe Tips
- Add a protein powder or try my homemade protein powder to give you long lasting energy without any sugar crash.
- Swap almond milk with any non-dairy milk like oat, soy, cashew, or coconut milk.
- Use one of my recommended blenders for smoothies to get the creamiest result.

Recipe Variations
- Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
- Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
- Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
- Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
- Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.
Storage Tips
Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

Smoothie was pretty good. Didn’t taste much of the cauliflower which was good but mine was a little loose even though I thought the cauliflower would make it thicker. Maybe I blended too long. It was still good. I added chia seeds to mine.
Adding the home made protein powder took away a lot of the sweetness. Good, but not great.
Very creamy and yummy! Adding the cauliflower was new for me, and now I will try adding it to other things. What a great idea! I think next time I’ll cut back on the banana because the smoothie was a little sweeter than I usually make.
This smoothie was really good.
Delicious! This is a great way to sneak in some veggies. I couldn’t even taste the cauliflower. I want to say it made it even more creamy!
I added 1 TB Chia seeds to the Strawberry Banana Smoothie for bone health. It was so yummy.
Yum! Love this smoothie and would have never thought of putting cauliflower in. Can’t taste that at all
This was a lot harder to make than I thought it would be. But perhaps I shouldn’t have prepped ahead. I froze all the fruit/veggie ingredients ahead. Making smoothie I put the frozen stuff in the blender with 1 cup almond milk and left for 15 mins to thaw slightly. Blending didn’t work at all really. Like ice cream and took 10 minutes of blending low speed, stirring, blending again. In the end I added an additional 1/4-1/2 cup of almond milk and it worked better. Still very thick and super cold . Tastes good but the rich flavor I was expecting is diluted some because (I think) of the extra almond milk and it being so cold. Will try again though perhaps not freezing the bananas.
I am not a fan of bananas. Surprisingly I could hardly taste them. The strawberries I had were very sweet can hid the banana taste well. I used fresh cauliflower instead of frozen. I will definitely make this again.
Loved the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. I added 1 TB. chia seeds for bone health. So yummy I drank it up before getting a pic!
So creamy and delicious! Will definitely try adding cauliflower to other smoothies.
The strawberry banana smoothie was so yummy! I love strawberries, so this was a great start to a challenge that I am really looking foward to!
Loved the creaminess and couldn’t even taste the hidden cauliflower.
Strawberry Banana is always a favorite … adding frozen cauliflower was a first for me. I will be sneaking cauliflower in more often!
While this smoothie is very creamery the banana taste is a little overwhelming. Next time I will use less banana.
I don’t have a high powered blender so the cauliflower didn’t get completely mixed in. Other than that, I loved it and it kept me full until lunch.
Very creamy and yummy!
First time trying cauliflower in a smoothie and I didn’t even notice it was there! Taste was super light and refreshing. I also added frozen cherries, collagen, and inositol to mine. Yum!
Good stuff. Easy to make and tastes great. Added vanilla protein powder (Optimum Nutrition).
Love the creaminess of the smoothie and it doesn’t taste too much like banana
