Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:

  • Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
  • Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
  • Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
  • Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
  • Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.

Recipe Variations

  • Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
  • Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
  • Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
  • Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.

Storage Tips

Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

  1. Simple smoothie with minimal ingredients. I added extra water as my smoothie ended up being very thick. I didn’t notice the cauliflower flavor, so that was nice to sneak in some vegetables without tasting them.

This was good, I liked that it wasn’t overly sweet. I used unsweetened almond milk and added beet root powder. I reduced the amount of liquid so I could make an “ice cream” treat out of it for my daughter and I.

I love the strawberry combo and the cauliflower adds extra creamy smoothness! ♥️

Was my first time using my Vitamix 750 blender. Used the smoothie preset setting. The smoothie came out a little thicker and some very small frozen pieces were tasted. The smoothie itself was good. Not one ingredient really stood out. Also, not as sweet as some I’ve made in the past. It’s quite difficult to accurately measure frozen chunks! Thanks

I liked this smoothie. I’ve made it twice. The first time with only one banana and some avocado and the second time with the one and a half bananas that the recipe calls for. I personally liked it more with the one and a half bananas. It’s that perfect amount of sweetness that I was looking for. I also added in some hemp hearts for protein and thought that it blended in with the overall flavor nicely.

The three of us loved this kickoff smoothie! We didn’t taste the cauliflower and the flavor of the strawberries and bananas are so yummy together!

i’ve used many diverse ingredients in smoothies over the years, but haven’t tried cauliflower. i was excited to try it! it did not disappoint. i used it raw (because raw food is a bonus for me) and more like 1/2c (and only one banana and a generous cup of strawberries) and i couldn’t taste the cauliflower. i’m hooked. i may try it in all of my smoothies! five stars because it gave me a nudge to try a new vegetable in my smoothie , i couldn’t taste the cauliflower , and it tasted great. thank you!

Love the cauliflower in the smoothie but found the banana overpowering. Will reduce the banana and add kale or spinach next time.

Very creamy and smooth. I added kale & spinach as well but found it a bit too sweet for my liking.

I love trying new ingredients. The cauliflower was not even noticeable but I love the extra nutrient.

    So tasty and creamy.
