Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:

  • Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
  • Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
  • Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
  • Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
  • Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.

Recipe Variations

  • Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
  • Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
  • Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
  • Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.

Storage Tips

Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

  1. 1st Day, 1st smoothie in New Year(‘24) Smoothie Challenge:
My version of the strawberry banana smoothie is terrible. Not really quite sure why, but it May be the almond milk(TJ’s) that makes it unpleasant for me. ‍♀️ chalky.
We will try again on day 2, to see how that works. Not accustomed to my smoothies being just plain yuk.

    1. Right!?! Soooo good you don’t even notice the cauliflower!

Oops I forgot to rate this previously!
The Strawberry Smoothie is delicious and the cauliflower didn’t change the taste but it seemed thicker and creamier.

  3. Day 1
This Strawberry Smoothie is delicious! It’s the first time I’ve added cauliflower and it didn’t change the taste but seemed to make it smoother and thicker.

  4. I’ll use strawberries, banana, even chia seeds, but there’s no way under God’s heaven I use cauliflower in any form in my smoothies. If I want “creamy” I’ll use cream. From what I’ve seen and read recently, cauliflower is becoming the “veg” of the month. A few years ago it was avocado. One wonders what’ll be the next fad. (By the way, you can only get milk from mammals. There’s no such thing as plant “milk”. All you have is whitened liquid from plant part squeezings. I’m not saying it’s bad for you. I do realise that some people are allergic to certain things in milk, be it from a cow, goat, sheep, camel, etc.)

This smoothie is like a strawberry milkshake! I usually prefer a green smoothie, but this is a nice change from the norm.

Way better than I expected. Not usually a big fan of Strawberry/Banana combo. I added a bit extra strawberry and the cauliflower added a little something that made it much more enjoyable.

Followed the recipe and I was pleasantly surprised at the creamy texture. I will definitely make this one again but with less banana. Also, want to try it with the suggested swaps.

Strawberries are one of my favorite fruits! Cauliflower and bananas added creaminess to this smoothie! The next time I make this smoothie, I will use less banana or a smaller banana.

Soooo good! Like a strawberry milkshake, only better! I could not taste the cauliflower at all! I’ll probably add even more next time.

I followed the recipe to the T and it was good. I don’t like cauliflower but I didn’t even taste it at all. I thought it was a lot of banana for a diabetic, so I only used 1 banana. It. was. really good and I will keep this recipe for further use. I will post the picture on the blog because I don’t know how to do it here #challenge.
