Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients

Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:

  • Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
  • Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
  • Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
  • Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
  • Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.

Recipe Variations

  • Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
  • Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
  • Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
  • Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
  • Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.

Storage Tips

Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

Tastes very good, but next time, I will use frozen bananas to make it more icy. I am also missing the high sweet flavor from retail shops that sell strawberry banana smoothies. I may add a date to sweeten it up next time … or, summer strawberries may be sweeter!

Another yummy one. As mentioned before, I would probably use only one banana. You can’t taste the cauliflower and the chia seeds are a great way to help you feel full. This is really good one for breakfast!

Another great smoothie. Didn’t notice the cauliflowers at all.

This is my second day of the smoothie challenge. I liked this one but not as much as the first one which was so tropical tasting. Going forward, I would decrease the banana a little bit as that was the predominate flavor and it is not my favorite fruit flavor. Besides ground Chia seed I also added ground flax and some psyllium as I find that combo keeps me feeling full the longest. As I am always looking for ways to get more greens in my diet I did add a handful of baby spinach. This altered the color a bit but not really the flavor as I tried it before and after adding the spinach.

I think maybe my frozen strawberries were lacking flavor. I’ll have to try this recipe again another time. The cauliflower is a great addition to give this smoothie a nutritional boost!

This was good.. I did add some vanilla protein to it.. I needed it a littler more sweet.. .

I loved this one! My hubby tried a sip of mine and said “eh, I would drink it if I had to. I probably would’ve liked it better if I hadn’t known there was cauliflower in it”. He doesn’t eat many veggies AT ALL and is usually opposed to trying any new ones unless they are snuck in something and he doesn’t know about it lol!

Yum another delicious smoothie. You wouldn’t even know there is cauliflower in there.

The Strawberry-Banana Smoothie was delicious and made a large smoothie. Very filling.

  9. I was skeptical about the cauliflower in a smoothie, but it was delicious and so filling. I had it early this morning, it is now lunch time, and I am not hungry!

Love this smoothie. I found I only need 1 banana. It’s still plenty sweet and creamy.

Very tasty, I was hesitant about the cauliflower, but was pleasantly surprised.
(I have had a problem with digesting cauliflower in the past & have tried to avoid it).
My new Vitamix blender arrived yesterday, I tried it out with the Strawberry Banana Smoothie. It did a vanishing act on both the Cauliflower & Chia Seeds.

Strawberry milkshake anyone? This was very tasty, even with cauliflower in it (not my favorite vegetable). I always add the Smoothie Boost to make the drinks more of a meal, but I think this one would be fine without it. I made my own Almond milk and did not use anything but the almonds. There is no need for extra sweetness in this smoothie. The banana, cauliflower, and chia seeds give it the fluff and protein and sweetness needed. I was very pleased with the flavor.

I don’t usually use almond milk in my smoothies. I usually just use water. I didn’t think I’d like this one but I loved it. It tastes like strawberry ice cream. I have to get over my mental block that smoothies are only healthy with greens in them, but I know this smoothie is chock full of good stuff.

This was a delicious balance of sweet and filling. I’m doing this challenge with my mom. We added the collagen powder and chia seeds. It was so smooth. If I hadn’t seen myself putting in the cauliflower I would’ve never known it was in there.

Love this combo! Not too sweet, but helps satisfy the sweet tooth! Will definitely make again.

Day 2 rocking it. Added collagen and protein powder. Used one banana. Tasted really yummy even with the cauliflower. Surprisingly good!!!

It wasn’t as good as yesterday but still delicious and smooth. I think I miss the greens!

This smoothie is so yummy. I didn’t think I would like the cauliflower but I couldn’t even taste it.

So delicious! Such a classic flavor. Used raw cow milk and no cauliflower because that’s how I roll. YUM!

This smoothie is good, but probably not one I’ll crave. I was surprised how mellow the flavor was, honestly I mostly only taste strawberries. And the frozen strawberry taste, not sweet fresh strawberries. It’s very easy to drink, just not super flavorful. I may add a natural sweetener and some vanilla if I make this smoothie again.
