Strawberry Banana Smoothie Ingredients
Here are a few quick notes about the strawberry banana smoothie ingredients that you will need to make this recipe:
- Frozen strawberries: Look for unsweetened frozen strawberries in the frozen fruit section. Check the label to make sure no added sugars or syrups are included.
- Banana: Choose ripe bananas (yellow with a few brown spots). Riper bananas are sweeter and blend better in smoothies. if you have extras, you can freeze bananas for future smoothies.
- Almond milk: Choose unsweetened almond milk brand for lower sugar or make your own homemade almond milk.
- Frozen cauliflower: Look for frozen riced cauliflower or frozen florets—riced blends more easily. Adding a little frozen cauliflower to fruit smoothies adds fiber + extra creaminess and doesn’t ruin the taste. Promise this is a winner (and you’ll never go back to a straight fruit smoothie).
- Chia seeds: Black or white chia seeds are both fine—there’s no nutritional difference. These superfoods add omega-3s, fiber, and protein.
Recipe Tips
- Add a protein powder or try my homemade protein powder to give you long lasting energy without any sugar crash.
- Swap almond milk with any non-dairy milk like oat, soy, cashew, or coconut milk.
- Use one of my recommended blenders for smoothies to get the creamiest result.

Recipe Variations
- Protein boost: Add 1 serving of protein powder or collagen peptides to make it more filling and supportive for muscle recovery and skin health.
- Extra creamy: Swap almond milk for canned light coconut milk or add ¼ avocado for a richer, creamier texture.
- Fiber-rich: Add 1 tablespoon ground flaxseed or keep the chia seeds and add ½ cup frozen zucchini for extra fiber without changing the taste.
- Green smoothie: Blend in 1 cup fresh spinach. This leafy green vegetable blends smoothly and won’t overpower the strawberry banana flavor.
- Naturally Sweeter: Add 1–2 pitted dates or swap half the almond milk for coconut water for a slightly sweeter, more refreshing finish.
Storage Tips
Drink immediately for the best texture and flavor. Or store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 24 hours—just give it a good shake or stir before drinking!

Good and easy to make.
Forget the heavy feeling of a strawberry milkshake, this smoothie is a million times better. OMG!! I put a bit extra ginger in it for a REAL kick!! So good. I can’t wait to have the rest before dinner to reduce my intake and enjoy having dessert first!
Yummy! I omitted the cauliflower because it’s my kryptonite 🙂 added a little more water and good to go!
One of the best
I was surprised by how thick and creamy this was. I think it’s a great option for breakfast or dessert. It is very filling.
Very creamy! Not real sweet but I still liked the flavor. Did not add chia seeds. Maybe next time.
This is a very good smoothie with a flavor that makes it easy to drink. And it is just thick enough to get up through a straw.
I will make this smoothie frequently when i want to sit down and enjoy a good cold drink and relax.
Today’s Smoothie was pretty good. I didn’t know what to think when it came to the cauliflower but it wasn’t bad at all! I would make it again!
The smoothie was good! It tasted like a creamy milkshake. I would have never known there was cauliflower in it!!
I substituted flax milk for the almond milk, added arugula, used flax seeds instead of chia seeds (due to high oxalates in chia seeds.) I found it not to be sweet enough. Maybe my bananas weren’t ripe enough? or maybe it was the arugula & flax or maybe it was due to frozen strawberries never tasting very sweet to me. It was OK. My son also thought it was just OK.
Hey there Stephanie! Adding flax and arugula would def reduce the sweetness of this smoothie. Using a very ripe banana and tossing in some fresh berries might do the trick for you next time. Way to get your son involved in the smoothie sipping!!!
delish! Added spinach to it and it doesn’t mess with the flavor at all!
I’ve made a lot of smoothies and never thought to put frozen cauliflower in them. I only tasted a hint of it, and my husband couldn’t taste it all (but I didn’t tell him it was in there). We both enjoyed these. Added protein powder and made about 1.5 of the recipe to get 2 smoothies.
This smoothie made me really happy. Great texture, great flavor. I want to drink it all day.
This smoothie has such a creamy texture and strawberry banana is always a great flavor combo.
So smooth and creamy. I love the flavour.
Really, really good stuff!
Oooohhh this one tastes like a strawberry milkshake!!! We did add in a scoop of vanilla protein powder but it’s so light and fresh!! Love this one!!!
I love the classic strawberry banana flavor in this! I did swap the chai seeds for 1 1/2 tsp ground flax seed. I don’t really like the grittiness of chia seeds in my smoothies.
The cauliflower is so mild I couldn’t taste it. This was good but I probably would not make it again.
Loved this smoothie. So creamy. The cauliflower was a great addition I am not used to using.
Beautiful color but Too sweet for our liking. So I filled the rest of the blender with spinach and some water. Wasn’t as pretty but was less sweet
I loved this one! Very smooth, light, refreshing and pretty. I used extra strawberry, 1 banana and extra cauliflower. For Day 1, I followed the recipe exactly—today I changed it a bit, in part because my remaining bananas still aren’t as ripe as I’d like, and I loved the resulting smoothie.
