I love a good go-to smoothie recipe, but rotating your ingredients is one of the easiest ways to boost nutrition and keep things exciting. This strawberry mango smoothie is a perfect example of how a simple switch (like a handful of spinach) can expand your flavor palette while still keeping things quick, nourishing, and delicious.

Why You’ll Love It

  • Strawberries are packed with more vitamin C than oranges (yup!), plus fiber and natural sweetness. They’re low in sugar, help keep blood sugar steady, and swap easily into any berry smoothie.
  • Mango is sweet, juicy, and totally tropical. Rich in vitamin A and fiber, mango adds a creamy texture and instant island vibes to any smoothie.
  • This smoothie tastes bright, creamy, and lightly tropical. The almond milk keeps it mellow and creamy, and the spinach blends right in—no “green” taste at all.

Ingredients You’ll Need

  • Fresh spinach: Mild and nutrient-packed; look for bright green leaves at your local grocery store or farmers’ market.
  • Unsweetened almond milk: Light and creamy with a subtle nutty flavor; opt for homemade almond milk to keep the ingredients minimal. Not gonna do it— I get it. Check out my guide on the best almond milk brands to buy. There are some great ones you can buy!
  • Frozen strawberries: Sweet and slightly tart; buy pre-frozen for convenience or freeze fresh berries for peak flavor.
  • Frozen mango: This fruit is naturally sweet and tropical. I usually buy frozen mango in bulk from Trader Joes or Costco because it’s cheaper than my local grocery store.

Easy Swaps and Add-Ins

This recipe is fantastic as is, but here are some easy ways to mix it up and make it your own!

  • Add protein powder: Give your strawberry mango smoothie a boost of protein with my Homemade Protein Powder recipe made with flax, hemp, and chia seeds.
  • Swap spinach: Use your favorite leafy greens instead of spinach. Some of my favorite options to use are kale or chard.
  • Swap almond milk: Substitute almond milk with a dairy-free milk of your choosing.

Common Questions

Do strawberry and mango go together in a smoothie?

While bananas and pineapple are among the tropical fruits that pair well with mango and strawberry, the combination of mango and strawberry is truly superior. Mango’s natural sweetness and creamy texture create a thick, luscious smoothie, while strawberries add a refreshing, slightly tart contrast. Together, they make a perfectly balanced, flavorful blend—pure smoothie bliss!

What fruit blends well with mango?

Mango pairs well with many fruits, creating a balanced and flavorful blend. Strawberries add a refreshing tartness, while pineapple enhances its tropical sweetness. Bananas provide creaminess, peaches add a juicy mellow flavor, and oranges bring a citrusy kick. Coconut is another great pairing, complementing mango’s tropical notes. Whether you want sweet, creamy, or refreshing, mango is a versatile fruit that blends beautifully.

How many calories in a strawberry mango smoothie?

A strawberry mango smoothie made with 1 cup fresh spinach, 1 cup unsweetened almond milk, 1 cup frozen strawberries, and ½ cup frozen mango contains approximately 137 calories per serving. This smoothie is naturally low in fat, with 4g of protein, 26g of carbohydrates, and 6g of fiber, making it a nutrient-dense and refreshing option. Adding a serving of homemade protein powder will slightly increase the calorie count while boosting protein content.

Day 2 smoothie was tasty. I always add protein and immune boosters. I added oats, greek yogurt, chia seeds and I had some leftover celery and carrot sticks from New Years so I put them in also.

Great for day 2. I add some vanilla plant protein and flax to these since I’m using as meal replacement, which ends up being surprisingly filling. I dont usually drink breakfast, but it’s a nice change.

The taste is great, however the color was an almost brown/green color. Definitely not as bright as other green smoothies

This smoothie started off a little bitter. I believe it was not mixing with my dinner. I finished it after my meal and the taste improved. I believe the packagrd frozen strawberries may not have been sweet enough.
My Nutibullet had difficulties blending this smoothie. Mangos and strawberries were frozen hard. Had to add sone extra liquid.

Very smooth and refreshing. What I am enjoying about these smoothies are their simplicity yet so tasty.

Used coconut water and gasp, cow milk. And I just found out that one cup of frozen spinach is too much for the amount of fluid. (Hence, the milk.) I got baby poo colored ice cream……that taste amazing.!

it was good but tasted more “green” than yesterdays. Very creamy and yummy just the same.

Really didnt care much for this one. If I made it again, I’d either add a banana, or double the mango. Just tasted like something was missing.

  9. Day 2 turned out much better than day 1.

Why won’t this keep my star rating when I post it, I am trying to give it 5 stars

I started out making the pink flamango but not sure that’s where I ended up. I subbed peaches for mangoes but wish I would have just used the mangoes. I added half a zucchini, half a cup of full fat coconut milk from a can & some almond pulp from homemade almond milk. It was so creamy and delicious but again I do wish I would have just used the mangoes
